- Members of our School Council entered the Warrington Police Operations Sceptre Knife Awareness competition. They wrote an article raising people’s awareness around knife crime and came out winners along with Cardinal Newman Catholic High School. Today they have been at Warrington Youth zone filming their report. Look out for this next week.
Operation Sceptre, is a national campaign which takes place twice a year, supporting the work Cheshire Police carry out all year round to ensure residents are safe from knife crime in their community. This campaign is supported together with Warrington Borough Council, Warrington Wolves Foundation and Warrington Youth Zone.
Pc Mel Marsh-Croft from Cheshire Police commented on the campaign: “We've worked closely this year with Dave Ditchfield at Warrington Youth Zone to create a digital support for our campaign and reached out to high schools to create a video that we will be sharing across our social media, including TikTok.”
Mrs Anna Mawby, Assistant Headteacher of Sir Thomas Boteler Church of England High School said “This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to deliver a message around knife crime and the affects that it has on our communities. Spending the morning at Warrington Youth Zone was incredible. Students made a short video using fabulous technology, and also had a tour around an incredible building with amazing facilities for the young people of Warrington.”
