These include appearance, lightness, design, and individuality. I believe that a good lens is one that you want to use. It seems the Ultron 27mm is sharp at f2 wide open while Nokton will have dreamy look at f1.2 and sharpen up at f2.8 above. They are very unique.

Japanese camera retailer Map Camera and Cosina are collaborating to sell a limited edition of 300 single-coated versions of the Nokton 23mm. I don't know if it's only available in Japan or if it can be purchased from overseas, but it's scheduled to be released in August in Japan, and pre-orders are currently being accepted. A limited edition of 300. Hearing that makes you want one. I'm also interested in it and thinking about whether to buy one.

Great video. I recently purchased the 23mm f/1.2 and love it. Seems to to have the same characteristics as how you describe the 35mm f/1.2. I already have the XF 35mm f/1.4 so it's hard to justify the Voigtlander.
In the end, I think whether genuine FUJIFILM lenses or Voigtlander lenses are better or worse depends on the user's preferences and usage. I use the 35mmf1.4 with AF when I can't afford to make mistakes at work, and the 35mmf1.2 for private photography, depending on the purpose and mood. Both FUJIFILM genuine and Voigtlander are wonderful lenses.

I think it would be good if the photographer could choose the filter according to their preference. If you are aiming for a softer, nostalgic depiction, use Black Mist! If you want to protect your lens, just attach a regular filter!

Excellent review! I've been looking at manual focus lenses recently and this one caught my eye because of the electronic contacts on the lens. It's a pretty pricey lens but I'll get try to get one these days once I save up enough, or I could sell some lenses that I haven't used in quite awhile to fund for this lens.

Yes. The suitable scene will change depending on the presence or absence of autofocus, but I definitely prefer nokton in terms of appearance and depiction in terms of taste.
They are very similar in character. The Fuji 35mm f/1.4 is much sharper but the poor AF frequently causes a distraction at the vital moment so now I prefer this manual focus option - with experience it's quicker and certainly more conducive to instinctive shooting. The electrical contacts raise the user's experience far beyond that with a "dumb" adapted vintage lens. If you shoot with your head (documentary) you'd use the XF 33mm with Pro Neg H sim, if you shoot with your heart (creative) you'd use this lens with the Classic Neg sim. I see no sense in owning both this lens and the Fuji 35mm f/1.4, they overlap considerably.
@@34136TS If you have 33mm and Nokton, you may not need 35mm. I would like to experience a sharp depiction at 33mm once. But I'm not good at heavy and big lenses. We are expecting to sell lightweight and sharp lenses.

Unfortunately this lens is very soft when open, which is fantastic for an analogue creative expression but a failure for the modern photographer in the West where sharpness seems to be the motivation for everything. Your reviews are the best. I'd like o know your opinion about 35mm lense. I have a 35mm f2, and 23 and 50mm f2 too. I'm looking for a character lense. My best lens is 60mm 2.4 macro with a nice wonderful bokeh and 3d effect. I can shoot in manual... so, what is the best option to shoot with soul? 35 f1.4 Fuji or 35 f1.2 voightlander?
The XF35mmf1.4 is also recommended as it can take good photos, but if you have the XF35mmf2, I think it would be better to purchase the Nokton35mmf1.2. How about using the 35mm f2 when you want to take quick shots using AF, or the NOKTON 35mm F1.2 when you want to take slow shots with manual focus or enjoy unique depictions. Why not use them differently like this?

真面目に返事させて頂きます！（笑
正直に言いますと、
同じカメラで同じ距離から同じ被写体を撮って撮り比べ...的なことはしていないので、
厳密に各レンズの描写の違いはわからないです。
ただ描写の傾向やジャンルはかなり近いレンズだと感じています。
あとは「どのような機材を所持しているか」「どんな使い方をしていきたいか」等で考えていけば答えが見つかりそうな気がします！
例えばですけど...
①メイン機材がフジで、他社カメラを使う予定がないのならば1.2がオススメ。（アダプターを使わずに装着できるので見た目がすっきりします。あとF値の情報なども残ります。)
②他社カメラも所持して色々なカメラで使用する予定があるならＭマウントの1.4（アダプターを使えば各社ミラーレスカメラで使用できますし、ライカなどのＭマウントのカメラなら直接つけられます）
③寄れる。クローズアップしたい。ということを重視するならば1.4+ヘリコイドアダプターでの使用でかなり寄れるようになるかと思います。（ただ、アダプターを介する分見た目のスタイリッシュさは損なわれるかもしれません。重量も重くなりますね）
④レンズ自体のデザイン。どちらが好みか？
などを整理していくといいかと思います。
機材に悩むのってすごく楽しいですよね。相談いただけですごく嬉しいですし、こちらも楽しくなってきちゃいます笑

フジフィルムのカメラでnoktonシリーズを使用するのは2本目になりますが、どちらもとても良いレンズですね！
XマウントカメラはX-Pro2とX-H1しか持ってないので、電子接点を介した絞り値が反映されないのですが欲しくなってしまうレンズですね・・・！
F値の反映はレビュー動画を作る時に便利でした。F値反映はあるに越したことはないのですが、個人的にはなくても全然OKだと思っています。外観や描写だけでも十分に価値があるレンズだと思います！特にpro2にはめっちゃくちゃ似合うような予感がします!!
初めまして。X-T5を購入してこれに合わせるレンズを検討していたらこの動画を見てNoktonを買うことに決めました。仰る通り本当にキャラの立つレンズで使っていてとても楽しいです。ただ、数回使った後にレンズ単体（なのでマウントのグラ付きではありません）でも僅かな（本当に僅かな）グラに付き気付いて購入店に相談したら初期不良扱いされ新品交換してもらったが、新しいレンズも同様数回使っただけで同じ症状が現れましたのでそういうものだと納得してこのブランド本当に気に入ったので23mmも追加購入して数回使ってもグラ付きが全くなかったのでやはり35mmはちょっとおかしいなと思いました。それで質問ですが、お持ちの35mmはグラ付きとかありませんか。メーカーさんに修理に出した方がの良いでしょうか。

結構前にもノクトン気になっているってコメントくれましたよね！
アダプターを介してノクトンクラシックを使うのも面白いかと思います。その際にはヘリコイド付きのアダプターを使うと最短撮影距離がグッと短くなるので表現の幅がかなり広がります。 ただカメラにつけた時の見た目を考えるとやはりアダプターなしでつけられるnokton35mmf1.2の方が...と思ったりもします。見た目を重視するか、それとも使いたいレンズをアダプター経由で使うか...っていう感じですかね。
悩みますよね。
それと雨の日にマニュアルレンズ使ったことあります！でも傘で片手塞がってる状態でのマニュアルフォーカスは結構大変でした(笑)

Excellent review! I've been looking at manual focus lenses recently and this one caught my eye because of the electronic contacts on the lens. It's a pretty pricey lens but I'll get try to get one these days once I save up enough, or I could sell some lenses that I haven't used in quite awhile to fund for this lens.
Thanks for your comment. As you say, one of the attractions of this lens is that it has electronic contacts. It's a great lens with good rendering and lens texture! I think it's worth getting.
Do you prefer this lens over the Fujifilm 35mm f/1.4?
Yes. The suitable scene will change depending on the presence or absence of autofocus, but I definitely prefer nokton in terms of appearance and depiction in terms of taste.
They are very similar in character. The Fuji 35mm f/1.4 is much sharper but the poor AF frequently causes a distraction at the vital moment so now I prefer this manual focus option - with experience it's quicker and certainly more conducive to instinctive shooting. The electrical contacts raise the user's experience far beyond that with a "dumb" adapted vintage lens. If you shoot with your head (documentary) you'd use the XF 33mm with Pro Neg H sim, if you shoot with your heart (creative) you'd use this lens with the Classic Neg sim. I see no sense in owning both this lens and the Fuji 35mm f/1.4, they overlap considerably.
@@34136TS If you have 33mm and Nokton, you may not need 35mm. I would like to experience a sharp depiction at 33mm once. But I'm not good at heavy and big lenses. We are expecting to sell lightweight and sharp lenses.

Unfortunately this lens is very soft when open, which is fantastic for an analogue creative expression but a failure for the modern photographer in the West where sharpness seems to be the motivation for everything. I am sure the designers at Fujifilm also enjoy your lens. Do you have any news for which Cosina lens will be released next for the Fuji X mount?

Your reviews are the best. I'd like o know your opinion about 35mm lense. I have a 35mm f2, and 23 and 50mm f2 too. I'm looking for a character lense. My best lens is 60mm 2.4 macro with a nice wonderful bokeh and 3d effect. I can shoot in manual... so, what is the best option to shoot with soul? 35 f1.4 Fuji or 35 f1.2 voightlander?
The XF35mmf1.4 is also recommended as it can take good photos, but if you have the XF35mmf2, I think it would be better to purchase the Nokton35mmf1.2.
How about using the 35mm f2 when you want to take quick shots using AF, or the NOKTON 35mm F1.2 when you want to take slow shots with manual focus or enjoy unique depictions.
Why not use them differently like this?

@@davidgimenez4716 If you have no problems with manual focus, I think it's a Voigtlander. However, there is no correct answer to this question. The best choice depends on how each individual feels. But it's fun to worry about things like this.

Thank you for your comment. I am very happy to be able to interact with people from overseas. No lens hood is used. The reason is that I want to use something that looks simple, and I want to carry it around as compactly as possible.

@@hexitmacau4957 It's a very fun lens to use, so please buy it! I haven't used it with the hood, but I think flares and ghosts are easier to capture without the hood!

@@JohnDAlmonte I haven't studied the nokton 23mm at all and I don't know about the depiction of the lens. But I like Cosina lenses, so I want to use them someday. I want to use it once even if there is no flare reminiscent of an old lens!

「柔らかさ」についてなのですが、やはり開放での描写はnoktonの方が柔らかいと思います。かつ、柔らかさに加えて明るい部分が滲むエッセンスがあったり、バブルボケが出たり、ザワっと激しめに背景がボケたりと特徴が盛りだくさんです。
....なので35mmf1.4とは完全に別物だと思います。ワクワクする要素が満載なnoktonです!!

このNOKTONが初めてのMF専用レンズだったので、動画を参考に勉強させていただきますね。モチふぉとさんの影響もあり、最近の綺麗かっちりレンズから雰囲気ボケ感重視のレンズに趣向が変わってきました。沼につま先入っていますかね。
オールドレンズ紹介やフィルム作例なども楽しみにしております！

たしかXF35mmf1.4もお持ちですよね！noktonの方はオートフォーカスが使えないというのが大きな差だと思います。モチふぉとなりに真面目に考えてみたのですが「頼まれて人の子供を撮る」「行事やイベントでの子を撮る」というように普段より失敗が許されない状況だと35mmf1.4の方が成功率が高まるかと思います。けれども「プライベートで我が子を撮る」という状況であればnokton35mmf1.2の使用も全然ありだと思います。動き回る子どもにピントを合わせるのに苦戦することもあるかもしれませんが、それも楽しさと感じることができるかもしれませんし、動きを予想して先にピント位置を決めておくとか、瞬時にピントを動かすなどマニュアルフォーカスの練習にもなりそうですよね。それぞれのレンズで描写は別物なので、noktonでうまく撮れた時の満足感（MFでうまく撮れた特別な一枚的な）は高いかと思います！人によっては「全然ピント合わないし、ストレス。」と感じる人もいるかもしれませんし「難しいけどなんとか撮ってやる！やった！やっといい感じの一枚が撮れた！」と楽しめる人もいるかと思います。結局は人によりけりなので確実な良い悪いは言えませんがプライベートな撮影であれば、noktonで子供撮影に挑戦するのもありだと思います！
