Nowadays the term metamaterial is broadly applied to engineered materials with properties not found in nature. Over the last decade, the field of acoustic metamaterials has diversified in many directions, showing that acoustic waves can be manipulated and controlled in ways not previously imagined. During the talk, advances in the field of metamaterials designed to control the propagation of acoustic waves in fluids will be described. Besides, we will show a brief introduction to phononic crystals and acoustic topological insulators.
