- The drama depicts the love story of Bai Feng Jiu and Dong Hua Di Jun, that spans 2000 years. Feng Jiu, the queen of Qing Qiu, is the only red nine-tailed fox in Qing Qiu and thus being pampered by everyone. She loves to cry and to throw tantrums but is also persistent and brave. One day, when Feng Jiu is in the mountains for cultivation, a beast attacks her. Luckily, the former Emperor of Heaven Dong Hua passes by at this moment and saves her. To pay the debt of gratitude, Feng Jiu follows Dong Hua who goes to fight the rebelling Demon Lord. Feng Jiu soon realizes that gratitude has turned into love, however, Dong Hua already forgot what love is. In order to keep her safe, Dong Hua sends Feng Jiu to the mortal realm, but the guardian he sends together with her unexpectedly dies. While trying to find the immortal fruit that can let her be reborn, Feng Jiu enters the temple of the ghost princess.

It is heartbreaking indeed. And the first time I watched this it was all emotion. But on the second time, I managed to get passed that and realized that while DH is a fool who hides things from her (be it for the right reasons, or as he likes to think of them) and he shouldn't have left her and just... spent time with JH as if he still had time; Feng Jiu is actually very faithless. He is the former emperor of the world. He does have things going on she can not even imagine. (age difference doesn't help, I guess) But even a fool would have seen how madly in love he was. SO to think the worst... and not even let him explain...

DongHua might be a fool; an overprotective fool who needs some sense knocked into him, but her actions... I actually feel more sorry for him (on my second watch) than her.
I'm glad Feng Jiu took a break from Dong Hua. She needed to focus on her health. Also, Gungun is asking all the right questions. He's definitely Dong Hua and Feng Jiu's child. 😂
But no matter which World human or fairy or God or man all guys are the same they don't know a good thing until it's gone

Yan's character has grown the most in this series. He went from kicking Chong Lin to helping him stand. He went from wanting to kill ice face to becoming a friend and ally. He learned to care about his friends, even if they were not demons, and has finally learned to not be so hotheaded and is now strategizing.
He's also the one who caused all this grief to happen, from stealing the Jade, winding up in the Valley, arriving late to tell FJ the message to wait. Then again, that's how this story goes, so just roll with it.
He just forgot to do one little thing though, pass on Dong Hua's message...so he's still at the learning to be a good friend phase, but over the course of the drama he has grown in leaps and bounds.
@@heatherwanderer777The second he left to put Jiheng in the safe place, Fengjiu arrived in the Demon realm, and after hearing that Dijun was there, left for Qing Qiu. He was sent to look for her at the wedding location, so he was already too late from the start. That’s not him being a bad friend, he was doomed from the start.
Gungun really is like his father. They both argue when they get few cakes made by Xiaojiu.🤣🤣❤❤

I missed the qualities, when he was tripping about the few cakes thing, he reminded me of Su Moye whinny self and A'Li and Xiaojus "I won't look at you because Im mad" habit

Lord Demon was supposed to deliver the message to Feng Jui, but he never did. Misunderstanding between Dong Hua and Feng Jui grows bigger. Only if she knew what Dong Hua is going through, she would understand and be supportive👪

There was a number of people including himself that could have gotten a message to her, but no one thought of her for a couple of months.
It’s not faults of lord of demon , in fact it’s faults of dinghua , who messed everything after he came back in heavenly realm . It was a banquet in honor of Fengjiu family , but, he’s not there, he fly it another woman and leave it behind everything to her until he never come back to say hi or helloo he’s immortal he can do any means to fly and see her ,,why he didn’t do it...now she is pregnant still no news from him , it’s really hateful ..’.

I am going to just say that the fact that she is pregnant and has been and going through just as much as Dong Hua, I do not blame her for acting the way she did. I realize this is a show, but as far as relationships, no one remembered to tell her anything, so of course she feels he chose another women over her. Just my opinion. Many people on here are saying they do not understand why she did not wait for Don Hua, well, he did stand her up, and did not tell her of his plans.

Sorry, sometimes I get a little annoyed with some of these characters, even though this is all pure fiction, it is just a show. I think I can relate at some level with what she went through of not getting all the information or no information in her case.

He did try to be in touch with his wife via letters. Dong Hua however couldn't communicate with Feng Jiu using space folding magic while he was in demon realm. After absorbing the Qiushui poison from Ji Heng to treat her as he promised her late father Meng Hao, and so that he will never have anything to do with her anymore, on the way to Qing Qiu, he sensed that the Huiming realm started to collapse. Though he sent letters through Xiao Yan beforehand explaining the problem, Xiao Yan unfortunately met an enemy along the way, lost the battle, and was in coma for months. Thus, Feng Jiu and Zhong Lin did not receive those letters Dong Hua sent.
He couldn't attend the wedding reception (they are already married, it has been registered with Madam Nuwa when they came back from Fanyin Valley), however he wanted to.
After 72 days stabilizing the Huiming realm, Feng Jiu was already in the mortal realm when Dong Hua arrived in Qing Qiu.
This is unpopular view, but the Bais, though very loyal and close knit as a family, are quite dense in reading situations. The Bais didn't wait for Dong Hua, they did not ask his side, and they relied on incomplete information to push Feng Jiu. While they were busy being angry because they felt offended he wasn't there in the wedding reception, Dong Hua was up to his neck preventing a disaster that can destroy all realms.
True, they didn't know the reasons why that time. But they were also so blinded with their "outrage", they couldn't do the sensible thing - wait for the person to explain his side and answer their questions. Or send scouts to find out exactly why. How silly that they only pegged it as Dong Hua choosing Ji Heng over Feng Jiu. Then they piled pressure on Feng Jiu in the guise of being supportive kin. The Bais totally forgot that Dong Hua never shied from declaring himself as the husband of Feng Jiu in the Bingcang ceremony. They thought of him frivolous, which he is not, nor did it come to their minds that there would be a very good reason why he would miss the reception Dong Hua has so wanted to be held for his marriage to Feng Jiu.
It never crossed their mind that if he was not there in their own wedding reception, it would be for a reason that needs to be heard. Yes, they have all rights to be angry, but they have to look past their rage if they really wanted answers. Bai Zhi should have known better than let his temper get the better of him - it's as if he didn't knew his classmate. As for Bai Yi, he made matters worse for his own child because he disapproves, thinking the worst, as if he never knew who's Dong Hua while he was in his army.
The story is a lesson to everyone. For Dong Hua, to not assume that however meticulously he plans, nothing would go wrong. Or that he doesn't have to explain himself nor say anything in protecting Feng Jiu- his wife didn't understand, and he lost her for centuries. For Feng Jiu, for not trusting her husband enough, and her hasty flight without hearing his side only brought her no good and countless heartaches. For the Bais, that their stubborn ways where loyalty to kin is concerned, for letting anger cloud their judgment to act and speak with logic, has almost killed their only heiress. For their friends, that a little boy almost lost his parents because years ago, they were not forthcoming with information and contributed to the misunderstandings between Feng Jiu and Dong Hua.

Melanie, thank you for your long, Excellent interpretation of the mess that happened. I really felt that her parents caused a lot of the grief. Plus things Never go as you plan; too darn many variables.
I don't know about you but I'm quite confused and flummoxed about time in the two worlds. I've watched this series 3 times and learned quite a bit more this round But the time thing still confuses me.
Perhaps reading the book, if it has been interpreted to English and if I could find it would help me figure it out.
I do love the story with it's Beautiful costumes and scenery, Terrific actors who make you forget it Is fictional story, a Wonderfully Director who connects with her people, the delightful humour that eases the sadness and tears.
I do dislike the abrupt ending of this story and hope there can be another season, with the Same actors, that tells the stories of the other people and includes Dong Hua, Fengui and Gungun as he grows up. SO much is left 'up in the air. They All deserve happy endings.
I think when a woman finds out she's pregnant for the first time it's when she stops putting anyone else first above her child including her husband

There are a lot people wondered why Fengjiu didn’t trust Donghua enough.
My thoughts :
Donghua was an older man who like to spoil his beloved little girl. Although he was a bit jealous of the men around her, but Fengjiu never gave him a real cause to distrust her.
Fengjiu was a young lady who started with hero worship and then liking him because he saved her life. But through time, she fell in love with him. However, she always felt that Donghua liked Jiheng and he never properly explained his relationship with Jiheng. Therefore, when she found out Donghua missed their wedding because of Jiheng, she probably felt that in the end Donghua still liked Jiheng more. Oh the other hand, her father’s opinions probably affected her as well.

In the novel Ye Qing Ti remembered everything that happened in the mortal world when he woke up as an immortal, he even remembered his feelings towards Feng Jiu. He said Xiao Jiu is beautiful in the mortal world but as a goddess she is gorgeous. In the drama they changed to him not being able to remember anything so he wouldn't feel any heartbreak as an immortal.
Thanks for the clarification about Qingti having memories of his mortal life in the novel! I felt bittersweet that he didn't remember in this episode 😢

Pero por el otro lado, me pone muy triste pensar que Qing Ti está condenado a una eternidad amando a una mujer que JAMÁS podrá corresponderle (en verdad no creo que se enamore de otra. En mi opinión solo puede enamorarse aún más de FJ..) Eso es realmente triste para mí..💔💔😭😭

The chemistry between all the actors is incredible, and I am now looking for the subtle reasons for this zing. Yeah, but I feel slightly more pity for Fengjiu. My sympathy for Donghua is tempered by the fact that he was the one who deliberately caused the misunderstanding. Yes, he was trying to protect her, but he should have known there were better ways to keep her safe and happy than to keep her completely in the dark. Yes, Fengjiu said she would wait for him, but she had also already made it clear to him that she was reaching the end of her rope, and *all* of her complaints were about him leaving her behind and prioritizing others.

no matter how sad it was ( it was very heart-wrenching) i this Feng Jiu needed the break. in later episodes, when she is back, she seems more mature and has a backbone to Dong Hua's nonsense. And she needs that, to show Dong Huan that his way of protection is not always right. And to learn what it is to actually be responsible for another person. Before whatever she did the consequences only touched her, and Dijun whatever he did most of the time consequences are way bigger and involves a lot of lives. So it does give her a perspective and puts them on more even ground. they end up more equal than before.

Seriously I love Feng Jiu's decision. If Dong Hua truly respect her,he wouldn't have abandoned her on their wedding day because of Ji Heng's health, atleast he can put protection on Ji Heng till after his wedding to come back and cure her but he didn't,so I like how Feng Jiu stayed away from him
I think he just wanted to be done with his obligation to Ji Heng since Feng Jiu was under a misconception for a long time that he had feelings for Ji Heng, when really he is just trying to return a debt to her father. It's difficult to demonstrate your sincerity for one woman when you keep having to come to another woman's rescue. The problem is he doesn't properly communicate his intentions with Feng Jiu because he's trying to shield her from the crisis and to be discrete with Ji Heng's past as her parentage is not his secret to share with anyone.
I understand that he wanted to end this blackmail of the malicious Ji Heng once and for all, but it's strange that he never told her directly or showed that he was not interested in her. on the contrary, he visited often. Likewise, spoil your step-sister. Was he vain?But hiding it from his wife was unforgivable. Fengiu asks himself: “Which of your words were true and which were lies”? He lied to her on purpose so often... She didn't want her family to pressure Dijun into marrying a pregnant woman. Such rejection is even more painful and humiliating than the incomprehensible abandonment on the wedding day.
