    There are more than 12 accents in Britain. And the Republic of Ireland doesn't belong in a survey of British accents.

    This challenge is hard and interesting to me At school, I learn the British accent and a liite bit of Irish accent. The easiest accent I can recognize is the Irish. I'm so happy to hear all 12 accents form the British Isles. They sound same, right?😆

      Thanks for watching, we hope you find it useful. The Scottish and Liverpool would be the next ones to focus on as they are quite specific. But some are weirdly similar, even though they are the opposite ends of the country (west country & east)

    It is interesting listening to the different accents and seeing these people figure out where the reader is from. Here in the US we have the same thing.

    Here's to hoping there will be more episodes on British accents like this one 🤞 ; awesome vid, Mitch, old mate!
    Sadly, I'm neither a native speaker, nor have I had enough exposure to most British accents to be able to pick them out like some of the interviewees here.
    Southern Irish, Scottish and London are pretty much the most I can do 🤭 , and they also happen to be among my favorites out of all English accents, but listening to the others in this one made me realize I _love_ them, too!
    👍😎👍
    Big hug from the land of rompope, mate!

    Coming from India, for some reason I don’t know why but I understand accents from southern England like midlands, London or Brighton very well. But northern English, Scottish and Irish accents simply flies over my head! 😂 Pretty good topic. I also enjoyed guessing the accents. 👍🏾

    • @listabambino
      @listabambino ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@EasyEnglishVideos most of it, that was really interesting. I was thinking how easy it’d be for me to guess Italian accents which have more or less the same varieties as UK / Ireland, that’s why getting a C2 certificate seems a little ridiculous if it’s defined as “native level”. There’s no way one can ever get a true native level if you’re not native to start with, your video proves that

    There must be a good reason why people are able to guess where someone is from based on dialect.
    Being Belgian, English is my third language and just now I'm beginning to be able to differentiate between British accents.
    It takes time to be exposed to various dialects. Peaky Blinders was a good way to learn Brummie for example...

    • @EasyEnglishVideos
      @EasyEnglishVideos  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment Jeroen 🙌
      I think you're right. Because of series like Peaky Blinders, it give massive exposure to the other regions of the British Isles, beyond London and the RP dialect. I would love to recommend "This is England" to you, both the Movie and then the follow-up series.

    • @EasyEnglishVideos
      @EasyEnglishVideos  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      😂 to be fair, the East and West Country were pretty hard to separate. And others weren’t very strong, like the Welsh and South East

    • @alexysq2660
      @alexysq2660 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@EasyEnglishVideos Well tbh, i'd got both the East and West Country ones right; though the Welsh did throw me off, as it hadn't really struck me as being particularly close to how i tend generally to hear those typically sounding. Also, the 'Brummie' accent threw me - which did come as a bit of a surprise to me that it should do so. You sincerely are most kind and gracious in your responses, i've simply got to say 😊; cheers, thanks very much ! ~❤💖
