Holy shit bro, this is probably the best video I've ever watched and probably ever will that helped me reaching a new level. I was actually struggling with every myth that you were talking about. Because I want to reach a new level, I'm currently learning the octaves part of HR6. I can hit the keys, so my accuracy is good enough for sure, but the speeeeed, no, just impossible, because I've always done it with pretty much my whole arm, stiff hands and no tension releases in any way. After just 10 seconds, I felt like I'm out of energy and the speed is also just 93 bpm out of 125 that I wanna reach. I will practice that new motion intensively and come back to this video to inform you how it worked. May be in like 2 months since I have to pretty much relearn it, but I will do it. Thank you so much!
This is really helpful for octaves, thank you!! :) Do you have any tips for hands that are small? I can reach an octave comfortably but I can't play it in the middle of the keys to be closer to the black keys
Thank you! You can put your fingers in any place that is comfortable. You don't need to put your fingers in between the black keys, you can put the fingers on top of the black keys.
Thank you! Could you explain more? What are some pieces that you would like to see? Would you like to see more of my own playing or analysis of other pianists? In case of other pianists, who do you think I should choose?
1) Have a higher positiion of your wrist 2) Think that your thumb and the muscles that controls the thumb (that are inside of your hand and also inside of your forearm) will be very, very relaxed. 3) Think that the active forearm rotation is only for the note that comes on the head of each beat, and consider that the note that comes in the "ands" will be a passive rotation, a rotation withou any effort. 4) The note that comes on the head of the beat should be done with a backward motion, and the note that comes in the "ands" should be done with a forward motion. 5) Apply rhythmic variations so that you learn how to control by letting your body more relaxed but still very precise.

hi! any tips on playing broken octaves? I feel some pain in the forearm when going from thumb to pinky :(
