I am a year late but I only came across your videos last night sorry. You are so game driving up to Cape York. My goodness. First girl I seen do that 😂👍🏽 Too good! I love watching your videos. Thank you 😎👍🏽 I live in Sydney with my Hubby now (for Ten years) but I got a suprise with this video. I was born and raised on T.I. (Thursday Island) and attended that Primary school you walked by going up to Millman Hill. They blocked that area off now I see. Never use to be. I use to run and cycle up there even before they put those turbines up. I use to run and cycle to the Lions lookout too. I see they rightfully blocked that road leading up to the Lions Lookout from cars entering now too. Just as well because the roads up there are dangerous now from erosion. Especially during the wet season. It can get very muddy and slippy all throughout that area. There use to be a little waterfall there running down the side of the hill up from Sadie's Beach every wet season. When we were little (I'm 50 now) we use to go swimming there and my mum showed us a soap tree there where the leaves can be used as soap. When I saw you walk past those areas, my childhood memories flowed through me. Sadies' beach was named after my late Aunt. Her late husband was my mothers uncle. He made that beach area into a beautiful litle swimming, fishing and picnic park and named it Sadie's Beach. Myself and my siblings were baptised in the ocean there 😊. That blue bunker, where you were resting to cool off from the heat, I still have photos of my brother, my cousin and myself posing on the top platform of that bunker. There used to be a ladder there accessing the top platform. We use to have parties up there too. Beautiful view from up there. You can see Wednesday island and the entrance to Cape York across the channel and beautiful sunsets from there as well. The ladder has since eroded and the building became weathered and unstable. So that's why you couldn't get to the top of the look out. Those old (creepy) army bunkers you saw there, housed explosives once upon a time. Obviously, all the widows are sealed up now, but those buildings were where the Gunners hung out on watch during the Second WW. They are an extension of the fort on Green Hill. There are more war history like this on Horn Island as well, and they have a War Museum there too. There's also a bunker out on Goods Island. We have a huge interesting Pearling Industry history on T.I. as well. There is a Japanese culture pearling station on Friday Island that is worth a visit. The Post Office/store, was new to me. It was See Hops before they changed ownership. Growing up See Hops was like our one stop shop. Our 7-Eleven if you will 😂. They had a bread factory that produced us with fresh bread every day. They were also our fuel and gas station for a long time and of course a convenient store and they also had a video rental area. The Post Office was an actual Australian Post building across the road from there but I don't know if that building is still there. Wow, a lot of things have changed. T.I. looks different now. Incidentally, my brother and his family are 4 wheel driving from Melbourne to Seisia, Cape York Peninsula next month and will be catching the Paddells' ferry accross to TI and back. He hasn't been back there for about 20 years. Thank you for the lovely memories and sharing your awesome journey and videos with us. May God bless you and keep you safe. Cheers. J 😎👍🏽
Probably the only tropical country with NO poisonous snakes you could try walking next - The Bahamas. I'm traveling from Rockhampton to Japan later this year via Cape York. Thank you for this insight 👍
Hey, it was beautiful over there! Mines a 1300D that I brought second hand a few years ago because I had no idea how to work a camera 😂 it’s been great to travel with though!

Any crocodiles?
😂. Just a few. 🐊🖤
Who the hell drags a can of spray paint all the way out there?
Be honest. TI is a dump and it's got a dark past. I lived there for years and know the whole area. You can have it.
Glad you left. Lol. 😂
Oh, and don't come back. 😂.
@@amorlia4488 I'm glad I left the shithole too. Many live there but few know what really goes on.
What really goes on? @@mickzammit6794
