    Good morning Caleb! Nothing like waking up to a new honing video. Makes the coffee taste that much better 😀. I just love watching these 2 stone hones. Something I'm working on myself, but, it does take a while to learn. Please, keep these honing vids coming

    Hey Caleb! Great to see you on the tube. I've been away for awhile as I retired and moved to Florida. Super video. Been away from straight razor shaving for almost a couple of years as my stuff has been in storage. As things have settled, I plan on getting back into it. Your videos are always appreciated. Hope all is well with you. Thanks for the video, brother. God bless.

    Good to see you doing honing videos more frequently. As always, great video Caleb. I am doing a bit of Coticules now and I see that you have one ready to give it a try as well. Hope you do your coticule version one of these days. Keep safe Caleb.

    Hi Caleb , you're so confident and professional with your honing ! Perfectly explained and videod, your backwards draw on the stones I've seen others use as well , it's something I've not gotten into , I'm afraid of a wire edge I can't control? ...that La lune seems very handy 👌 from rough bevel set to slurry finisher is amazing 👏.
    Wonderful instructive video ❤.

      As long as you do edge leading strokes on the low grit hones afterwards. It won't be an issue. On 8k and up , the wire won't stay after stropping up on linen and leather.

    Good Sunday Mornin to ya. Ive been enjoying the cool spring weather, getting out to fish and bike when possible. Your timing on this video is perfect. I've been thinking about trying a progression from bevel to finishing stone. Lately I've been refreshing with a Coticule to Trans Ark. Also been keeping my wifes two favorite kitchen knives in working order. She's a great cook but man is she hard on knives. Off to church, be well.

    Interesting stone. Looks a lot like a bbw on camera.

      Aye. But a lot more like a jnat in how it refines and the slurry etc. A good stone really. I've really been pleased with how well it refines an edge. The availability is better than many jnats nowadays. And the price point is lower. All plusses.

    Hi, enjoyed the video. Will actually be shaving on a la lune edge later today. Any plans to do a honing video with the coticule setting there?

    • @blistersteel
      @blistersteel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Perhaps. It is a very fast coticule. As such it isn't easy to reach the edge I prefer with it. I'll see what I can do.

    Have you ever seen a gold dollar razor that you couldn't get every mm of the bevel honed? Even the banana shaped ones? Seems like the heel portion of the spine (hone guide) is thicker in that area than the rest of the spine and one can get adequate contact at the last 1/4" of the heels bevel. Something.else i run into is i see the bevel crumbles before it actually 'apexs'. Meaning chunks of the bevel crumble out before tye edge bevel sets, because they got shotty heat treatment ot go the steel too hot and it just crumbles. You ever come across that too?

    What scope are you using?

      They are on Ebay. Search for pocket microscope 100 power. There are a few dealers selling them. Should run around 12 bucks.
