I like the end result. I'd be interested to see if you could make one using two (or maybe even three) LED arrays to result in a taller lamp. I also think skinning the thing with a bit of cloth or paper would help it look very sleek and defuse the lights.

I suggest to stuck a diffuser layer onto the wooden structure in front of the LEDs, this would be much better with it. 😉
