Skateboarders have mixed emotions about design of new skate park in Riverside

Some local skateboarders are raising concerns over changes to the design for a skate park coming to Riverside. The park will be at a section of the Artist Walk under the Fuller Warren Bridge, across the street from the Riverside Arts Market.

Y’all came up with the worse excuses I have ever heard, please just build a normal street plaza and not a “art” park, y’all interviewed people who probably don’t skate, and just want a place to use to take pictures with. I skate both street and bowl and I’ll be fine without a bowl, please just put things into the skatepark that people can use to get better and ultimately train for contests that only CaSkateparks build such as xgames, dewtour, and even the Olympics. There isn’t really a training facility in Florida for those uses, and that’s why it would be amazing to have an CaSkateparks skatepark in Florida, and I’m not talking about this lil art park that only Instagram influencers, photographers, and tiktokers can gain stuff from, but a world class street course and possibly a bowl built right here in Jacksonville! Please forward this to the Fdfravsca or whoever said it’s because of this “soil issue”!

Both interviews with “skaters” in this video SUCKED. They were OBVIOUSLY not aware of any of the changes going on, and just said something nice sounding for the news. Do better News4Jax

Thanks for not interviewing anybody with actual concerns about the park or, you know, anybody who actually skates on a day to day basis. You couldnt even interview skateshop owners or people more engrossed in the community? No instead ya'll just want it to seem like people are complaining about stuff that can't be changed and just need to accept that this skatepark design is what it is. Well bowls or not the design is still bad. This park never had any input come from the community at any point after changes needed to be made. Also its not just people fom jax beach who hate the design for this park and its not just people who skate bowls either. Thanks for once again providing misiformation and the worst coverage possible news4jax.

Not a single bowl smh that’s the main reason why we wanted that skate park built so we could have bowls so many people are not gonna be able skate stares the new design sucks I’m moving

true the one in Pensacola has a bowl. wished the design had steeper transition. i only skate kona or the diy since theres gnarlier transition and a decent street section. otherwise im usually skating street.

I don't do bowls under bridges because I've seen every skatepark on earth. Deaths and the bridge could collapse. Billions of dollars of damage and deaths.

skaters are never happy. give them the bowls they want and charge them $2 and they will complain they have to pay $2. skaters kill the skate industry
