Theres 100 videos of people chopping and putting up corn silage on TH-cam. But this is the first time I’ve seen corn combined, cracked, and still put in a pit to ferment! I learned something today! Oh, and you should go to Lancaster, PA for vacation. Check out all the Amish farms. Ride the train at Strasburg. Maybe even go visit fellow TH-cam star 10th generation dairyman!

Thanks for the really great video on getting ready to combine corn. Really interesting this video was. It is just not the combine but all the other things to get ready, the semi and grain cart and auger and grinder and tractor with bucket. Lots to get set up before hitting the go button. Sorry your bushels are not better and corn moisture where you want it to be. That is farming I guess. Glad you were able to figure out why the combine would not start. That is mice for you, terrible terrible creatures. Sure messed up the combine that is for sure. You and your dad are a great team working together. That is just wonderful. I admire you both for the way you get things done. That makes it work for you both. Your weather is cooperating which is good. Guess that is about it for now. Keep going with the combine. Oh my good Lord above! I had to stop at 3:56 when you said your brothers bum-burp registered on the Richter scale cos here in regional Victoria, Australia we had an earthquake measuring 5.9, (less than 24 hours ago from the time I'm watching this). It hit 9:16am September 22nd, which is yesterday for me. So freaky, but I have such freaky coincidences almost on a day so it's fun freaky, not scary freaky. LOL! 😁🧙♀️ The good news is no reports of injuries but some minor damage to older heritage buildings that will be restored. Thats because the epicentre was in regional Victoria some 120+ kms away from city of Melbourne. We're expecting n have had some small quakes + after shocks but so grateful it wasn't worse. 💙🙏 So all good here. Now back to watching the rest of the video n let's see of there's anymore fun freaky moments. And I do hope you tidy those tires you made a mess with or I've got a long trip ahead of me to come n tidy them. LOL! 😁 (Vacation wise, love to see y'all here in Australia but we aren't accepting visitors at this time, but hopefully soon we will n you can come see our fun fury critters! 💙🦘🐨🐊)

Glad to see that your corn is doing better than what I expected. You could still put more cob in the bin since you are putting it in pit. I had put a cornhead on the chopper for ear corn,. worked great for feeding cattle. Good luck with harvest, stay safe.

Go to a truckstop and pick you up a air hose that connects to the gladhand of the tractor red service line. Save you a trip just to air the tire. I always keep one in my truck. I don't know if it's feasible for you but it sure saved me more than once when picking up a trailer that had a low tire.
I was able to stop by the Storla Station Tuesday on my way home from Rapid City, my truck was thirsty! Fun to see the area and get a since of your surroundings. Good luck with harvest, stay Safe!

Hi Cole. To avoid mice in the combine you can spray diesel fuel on and into the feeder house as well as into the back. You can also place a cup of diesel fuel in the back. Mice dont like the smell. Works good for us after having a lot of troubles with our combine in the past.
I love your dad's stories they can't be beat especially the one about the fish I know what he's talking about I ate bad fish when time I'll never eat fish again I love his stories you guys make a great team I hope your fault turns out to be prosperous
Your dad probably remembers Roseanne Rosannadanna from SNL who always said "It's always something!" That's what farm life seems to be like. If you want to vacation in the States, New Orleans is lovely in the fall. Be sure to go on a swamp tour. If you want to go abroad, I'd suggest an all inclusive resort in Mexico or the Caribbean.

Thanks for the insight into corn harvest. Always see the combines in the field, but never what else goes on. God bless for a great harvest this fall and alot less problems. Use those pepper mint tea bags. They do work.
Come out to our Cattle/Farming station in Australia. Get away from winter. We are fencing, planting, also plenty of Bulldozer work as we are preparing the country for Cotton planting this year. Good comfortable accommodation, good tucker. Not a lot of mice at the moment. From Down under.

Sucks when nothing works right till you get the kinks out. Seems like I always had a little notebook with all the settings from planting to harvest. We always put mouse bait around the combine and also had antifreeze in ice cream lids to keep them garments away.. Have a Safe Harvest Cole, and Brian Maybe go to Alaska or wait till winter and go somewhere warm. But with COVID I personally would probably stay home.
Seems like when you're starting to harvest you have get all the kinks out before it starts running smoothly!!! Hope your harvest runs smooth and safe!!! Cole start your vacation at Storla Station and go from there!!! Good Luck and Happy Harvesting and have a safe harvest!!

Thanks for the insight into corn harvest. Always see the combines in the field, but never what else goes on. God bless for a great harvest this fall and alot less problems. Use those pepper mint tea bags. They do work.

Come out to our Cattle/Farming station in Australia. Get away from winter. We are fencing, planting, also plenty of Bulldozer work as we are preparing the country for Cotton planting this year. Good comfortable accommodation, good tucker. Not a lot of mice at the moment. From Down under.

Vacation is known as. Next field!!!
Sucks when nothing works right till you get the kinks out. Seems like I always had a little notebook with all the settings from planting to harvest. We always put mouse bait around the combine and also had antifreeze in ice cream lids to keep them garments away.. Have a Safe Harvest Cole, and Brian Maybe go to Alaska or wait till winter and go somewhere warm. But with COVID I personally would probably stay home.

We use bounce dryer sheets in our combines to keep mice out they can’t stand the smell of them.

Use Irish spring on your equipment. We use it in our stored motorhome. WORKS
