    Hi there I’m just doing a follow up on my comments , after quiet a few months of trying to sort my problembs 10 months , I invested in a new DD for my board ,that didn’t work but did run a little better,invested in 120 cloud wheels for better clearance , tried running my board threw the vesc program ,but one port didn’t respond ,then perchased another vesc from Eovan which is the same board & it just slotted right in , ran it threw the program again ,& ! It turned into a complete beast ,kills hills & scares the frick out of me ,love it as my favorite board now ,love the coast feeling & sooooo quiet , purchased another board from Eovan belt drive this time ,which arrived 3 days after I got the first one running ,so now I’ve got 2 , happy days ,blown away with both boards , would love Eovan/ bound board to make a carbon drop deck like the D3 ,please 🙏🏻😌

    The Bound D1 uses a 12s2p battery. When running it at 60 amps, you're running it at the batteries maximum continuous current draw rating, and as a result you will lose roughly 40% of your range through voltage sag.

    • @ElectricVehicleSpace
      @ElectricVehicleSpace  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am happy getting 9 miles out of the battery with faster speeds. If I need to get more range I can lower to 30A per motor and get more range. Its what you choose and what works best for you.

      @@ElectricVehicleSpace All portable electric vehicles have a weakest point, if range is not this boards weakest point, than what is it?
      Not only will a 2p battery give you less range, it will not give you as many charge/discharge cycles as a 4p pack would. Imho, it's essentially cell abuse to run batteries at their maximum rated current draw. Do you have a way to measure their temperature?
      Also, you live on relatively flat land. I'd like to see how this pack performs at 60 amps in the mountains. It may very well go into thermal shutdown.

    • @ElectricVehicleSpace
      @ElectricVehicleSpace  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dieselphiend it will not. I discharge 30A from the pack and 60A per motor. This does not mean that it's going to take 60A from the battery. The esc calculates the power output similar to 60A but will draw only 30A ftom the battery.

      I am amidst considering from those 2 boards as well and I've had about 6 boards in the past. After seeing the internals of the boundmotor board, I'm now inclined to the flex because I'm not a fan of how the insides of the D1 is made. I usually ride on any weather and the D1 will barely have any water resistance if water enters from the top. I could apply some silicone coating on the enclosure to prevent water from entering but I don't wanna risk it. I just know that the flex is IP55 rated and is more suitable for my purposes. The Flex seems like a more refined board overall for me. Let me know which one you end up choosing!

    • @winnquest

      To be fair, you should compare Exway Flex with the Bound R3 (or the Exway Flex Riot to Bound D3) which have more flexy deck. In my opinion drop down deck looks pretty cool, i like the design.
      However Bound boards are 100 to 300$ more expensive (with 1st battery option) than Flex Riot. Futher, they have very very few reviews yet and almost no communication on social media, so we don't know if they are really reliable or not. So personally i would choose Exway who have a great reputation

      If you can do a board related sport the skills are transferrable. I haven't skated in over 20 years but I snowboard and I was able to jump onto a electric board. I would recommend going with big wheels 120mm + to air tyres. They feel nore comfy and more "in control" imo than street wheels.

    • @ElectricVehicleSpace
      @ElectricVehicleSpace  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is a lot to go over because both boards are so different and cool in their own way. If you look from portability perspective than Flex is way to go. If you want customization and carving, longer range, wider stand and you dont care about size and portability than D1.
      D1 here has a lot more to offer but will require a little DIY like for the comment regarding waterproofing and getting different set ups for speed/racing vs. carving at lower speeds and getting longer range. It is important also how much you weight. There is a lot of variables to go over and only you can analyze over the factors that are important to you. To simply i will do this - portability Flex for all other aspects D1 model. I would have purchase both and have the D1 as a machine ready to DIY and change/play with dif. setting because it is so much fun! Also have Flex for all preset amazing bms and esc function for portability. The 105s wheels with the Direct Drive really feel amazing and unique!

    I'm 6'1 and about 265 lbs. I'm debating between the D1 and D3. I like the D1 because of the carbon fiber because of my weight. I like the D3 because of the larger battery option. • @ElectricVehicleSpace
      @ElectricVehicleSpace  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those cells can discharge more for short period of times. It depends on terrain, your weight and so many other factors. The esc is set to max draw 30A but motors were set to 30A per motor and 60A per motors. When set to 60A the battery was still set to 30A max so it will not affect the battery that much.

    Great review. I think there is an opportunity for a manufacturer since more are starting to include the vesc6 and a 12S battery to do a belt drive version which can be used as a base to add bigger motors to so have a good value high speed board. If have a battery option that are big enough might provide a good alternative to those that want DIY performance but not the parts or electronics knowledge to go full DIY. Is there anything else out there at a lower price point like this already ?

When using the remote in my left hand (closer to the esc) there are no problems. Very odd as the remote's range is supposed to be 15-20m. I messaged Boundmotor and awating response.
