Schools and universities should be teaching us to be good; unfortunately they have been mainly focusing on how to pursue $, no matter what discipline.

Bankers used to operate on the "3-6-3" principal. They paid 3% interest. They loaned money at 6%, and they were on the golf course by 3.

+Rob Mackenzie Now there is only wankers, which are caused by stupid central bank low interest rates, controlling GDP thru supply/demand and high commissions/bonus for the wankers.

What an excellent programme. Especially seeing Tring Park where my big sister went to school, and where I met Harry Worth, and Margot Fontain, at one of their open days. I used to read Victorian novels, I'd buy them for their embossed gold covers, and it's quite surprising how much history can be learner from them. The wealthy do-gooders were horribly patronising, and I s'pose the 'down on their luck's just had to put up with that to get help. This video truly gets that feeling across. Loved it, many thanks.

I advise you to read what Nobel Lauretae economist Maurice Allais has to say about the banksters. You will find it on Wikipedia. It may be novelty to you but banksters are allowed to create money out of thin air and lend it out at interest aaginst tangible assets which they take if you do not pay back their phoney money. You should also see movies like Money as Debt by Paul Grignon and Moneymasters by Bill Still. Wake up.

Yes, I agree with thefrockdoctrine counter arguments. The sub-prime mortgage crisis came when legislators approved of making everyone even with a dubious background a mortgagor. Government is there to keep you in check of what is right and what is wrong generally. They failed on their jobs when they turn a blind eye. In my country, it's not the policy that is questioned but the people in the system. The corruption here is staggering.

We need the politicians to tighten/ reform the legislation re banking. I would make it illegal to charge more than 15% apr on credit cards & 'payday loans'.....Bring in the 'Robin Hood tax' on all banking transactions as advocated by Bill Nighy...to target particular projects in areas of need up & down the country...

Government can't do everything and I know it is the founding principle of the United States, but the problem is that the American entrepreneurs and tycoons didn't want to protect their long-term interest, (the altruistic decisions) For example, our rich people blocked the laws against the White Collar Crime and finance crime becomes rampant
By the way, it is the GOP, the Cult of Tax Cut, that bailed out the banks in 2008

That was well put documentary, bankers would approve. After watching I almost felt bad and defensive for the bankers. The system was broken as soon as gold standard was removed in which thievery and easy manipulation took over. Most of people if put in the position of the banker wouldn't do any better. The lure is often greater than morality and conscience of the effect. On the other hand, the modern world and improved living condition was made possible by the financial system

    • @parnelijones5462

***** You have no control of the money supply, the govt does. Remember, Leftist FDR took by force the Gold ( money) of the people. Sell it to Govt, or go to prison, at $20.66 an ounce. Then, once he had it all, changed to price to $35, stealing wealth from the people. In order to implement a leftist agenda.
