    good video, it helped me to fir an extra socket. Had to pause it to zoom in to see what colour wire connects to what, but was able to see once paused. Thanks for taking the time to put these videos together.

    Getting my first qashqai over the weekend 2013 with an 1.6 117bhp engine think it's a tekna in white with black door handles it has cruise control and a 6 speaker system. Can't wait to get it home.

    Great just bought the Socket and I'll do this on my Qashqai J11

    Nice one. I think this should be possible in my Nissan Pulsar as well. I would, however, have taken the cover off as it makes it look out of place to me, and have chosen one without the display. When it's very dark even a bit of light can be annoying to the eyes of the ones in the back.

    Nice mod. Might do the same thing for my Nissan Qashqai.
    Would you make a video of how you neatly tuck in the dashcam? looks very nice and compact.

    Hi Dan, great vid.
    Any idea if it can be done on a 2019 model? I've pulled the back panel off but I don't have as much space behind as you do, there's another plastic panel there

      I'm not sure I'm afraid. It needs a good 2 to 3 inches clearance behind

    Do you still know if the blue and the black one are the negative or positive pole?

  • @alanantliff3515
    @alanantliff3515 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Dan, great vid. Ive bought a socket. To clarify did you put the 3 pin socket back in so you also had the USB working in the glove box as well as the new socket? Thanks Alan

      @TheQashqaiGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi yeah the plug went back in and all working as it should.

      Cheers thanks for getting back so quickly. One last question my socket is actually a USB connection (2016 Tekna) when i removed the cover there are no exposed wires like on your vid. If i cut the USB wire do you think there will be 2 wires to join the positive and negative to the new socket as i dont want to cut the wire and find i cant wire it up! Thanks Alan

      No the usb is used for data transfer too so I wouldn't use that. Is there no power socket in the armrest?

    I'm not that knowledgeable, but I've tried to do this at the front cig lighter and am not getting any power? I think I've checked the right fuse at the top 2nd from left, and seems fine. Wondered if you could help?

    • @TheQashqaiGuy

      Check it with a volt meter to see it's getting power. Could be a faulty unit

    hey on a 2014 qashqai when you plug the usb charger in the lighter port it stays getting power even when off. is there any to male it go off with the key?

    • @TheQashqaiGuy
      @TheQashqaiGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not that I know of. The one in the arm rest goes off after around a minute.

    is there possibility of running too much current or voltage from the one line (while using the dashcam and charging devices from the mod)?

    • @ynonser5804
      @ynonser5804 ปีที่แล้ว

      dash cam draws very little power. usb ports also between 2.1A to 4.8A it depends on the usb itself and the device you charging. but any way if there's too much current it will blow the 15A cig fuse.. if you tap into tap of course..

    Hi dan, when we disconnect the battery, do we need to disconnect both the negative and positive?

    • @TheQashqaiGuy
      @TheQashqaiGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just positive and make sure it's away from the terminal
      Also make sure you have any stereo codes if applicable. I didn't have an issue though.

    • @edwinrish
      @edwinrish 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Dan Smith thanks 🙏🏻. Do you know where I might find my stereo codes

    • @TheQashqaiGuy
      @TheQashqaiGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If applicable, they may be in your service book or owners manual

      Its better to remove the negative in case the positive touches the frame of the car which is all connected to the negative!
