Been researching this CHoco Emei for a good long time now. It has a very good DF. 4 ohm rating is 220 -230. Thanks for the video. I gave it a listen with my Sennheiser Momentum 4’s. I know that means nothing but I get the dynamics.
In all honesty, one of the best I’ve heard for the price. Not a giant-killer but it sounds very good for the price. It does have that tube-like presentation. There’s something in the midrange that makes you feel the tubey-ness. Makes you feel only, not actually. Top end is not overly extended too.
Thanks for the video! I been trying to decide what should I get for around $2000 and I been leaning heavily towards the choco and I have been also thinking about the kinky studio intregated which has more power but I think the choco is going to be more all around enjoyment. The only thing that got me changing my mind was the British audiophile review. Before I watched him i was ready to punch in my CC
It’s the slightly sweet sound + slight holographic presentation that’s akin to tubes. I won’t say it will sound like a tube preamp such as the Cary Audio SLP-05.
Soundstage is very good. It’s wide. Imaging is also very good. Imaging + that sweet tone gives it the tube flavour. Not saying it’s like a great tube amp but it does sound better than many tube amps I’ve heard. Bearing in mind this is a sub $2k amplifier, I’m impressed. Pair it with a nice bookshelf (Harbeth P3ESR) and a sub (REL T7x) and you got a very nice cozy system that will bring years of enjoyment. Check out the review, link is in the description.
@@scrutor7 … ‘holographic’ is the word, with inverted commas. Just got the Galion Audio TS120SE in, and that is pretty holographic for a tube amp of that price range. But you not into tubes. It’s very hard to find a solid state amplifier that can give you the full tube sound and holographic effect that you get with a good tube set up, such as a Cary SLP-05 preamp. Remember, always demo before buying!
… yes it does. I would love it if they made a preamp that has a similar sound signature. That I will buy in a heart beat to pair with my Benchmark AHB2.

I’m glad it gives you a rough idea about the EMEI. 🙏

Nice. Really looking forward to hearing this amp in person.

The EMEI is more musical. I did listen to the Kinki EX-M1+ … it’s more detailed with a punchy bass. Great for pop music, EDM and rock etc
@@myhifinews363 thanks they both look like a amazing bargain and very well made.
rich pleasant believable natural sound
Yup … it’s very good for the price. I was most surprised.
dose it have a tubey sound?
kind of

Thanx. I have Buchardt S400 Mk2’s. So it seems like it would be a good pairing. I’m looking for that "Holographic" sound without the tubes.

What's te output @8ohm? Can it drive a bookshelf with low sensitivity?
It’s 138w … happily drives my Harbeth P3ESR which is only a mere 83dB. Check out the review link in the description.
Got a class a sound..get one
