*Fun fact about HP goblins:* They are not untrustworthy, but they believe that whenever they craft an artefact for a wizard, they are merely borrowing it and the wizard is to return it upon their death. As Godric Gryffindor didn't return it and the sword wanished only to be presented to future Gryffindor wizards in need, Griplock (goblin in question) thought the sword was goblins' to return.

Regarding the goblins - so what SHOULD JK have done? I’m confused. Should she have made the bankers asian-like? Or black? Imagine the outrage if that had been the case. Maybe I’m wrong but I feel JK needed the goblins to have certain traits as they’re so closely aligned with the money system. and the people with an issue are actually creating that connection thinking she’s making a statement about Jews as a whole……
Easy dumbass you don’t make them anything “make them Asian or black” are you stupid. You make them green, blue, any color not associated with a race (this is a fantasy story) and/or you show other goblins outside of the banking scenes. They’re only shown in the bank and dwarfs are shown outside of it. Why did you instantly go to black and Asian it’s a fucking fantasy story. You got blue centaurs, green mermaids, gray trolls. Imagination is important.
@@dessmi9184 why so quick with the name calling man? sheesh. just don't understand the outrage because like you said its a FANTASY story so why are people trying to create a connection between a FANTASY world filled with otherworldy phenomena and our real world? @@blueberrytacos “ FANTASY story so why are people trying to create a connection between a FANTASY world filled with otherworldy phenomena and our real world?” what? So do you think that the empire from star wars is a completely original idea not based on the nazi regime. Are you surprised that Voldemort/death eaters were inspired by the nazi or dwarfs from the lord of the rings being based on Jewish people being driven out of their homes or narnia being based on Christianity or Dune being about war/genocide in the Middle East. Fantasy stories always have some form of connection with the real world because that’s where the people are from and draw inspiration from. Drawing from this is not bad as these are world events, drawing from stereotypes is when it becomes a problem.
@@dessmi9184 Sure, there can be inspiration from the real world, however not *every* interpretation you draw from fiction is valid or matches the author's intention. It seems like you're relying on emotional reasoning: "I feel this way, and my feelings therefore reflect something real about what I'm seeing". It just doesn't work that way. We can read too far into things or misinterpret the original intention. If Rowling said an anti-Semitic trope wasn't her intention, why not take her at face value? It just sounds like you're trying really hard to insist that your negative interpretation is the only valid way to react. Here are the two main stupid things about the Goblins' controversy. First, she didn't do the movie and apparently the Goblins are not described exactly as that in the books. The studio (Warner Bros) wouldn't have a hugely successful business IP that's made them billions of dollars... you know, with a B, at the box office, and probably twice that in merch, DVD, and Blu Ray sales, helping keep their company, that right now is looking a little shaky, afloat.
But, you know, ostracize her because she thinks differently than you...
These fuckin' people are a disgrace. Each and every one of them is a dumb fuckin' hypocrite. Back before Rowling made her opinions on one little matter known, they were practically kissing her fuckin' feet, BEGGING her to make more content in that series.

It literally just happened so her misgivings were justified. Third, how if commenting on nuanced situations gains the ire of that entire community, maybe it's not a stretch to consider them mentally unwell. *Fun fact about HP goblins:*
They are not untrustworthy, but they believe that whenever they craft an artefact for a wizard, they are merely borrowing it and the wizard is to return it upon their death. As Godric Gryffindor didn't return it and the sword wanished only to be presented to future Gryffindor wizards in need, Griplock (goblin in question) thought the sword was goblins' to return.

Pre production does all the hard work...an army of concept artists etc
If any of those kids had any character, NONE of them would have shown up.
Money is too strong in our society. Grown men and women wouldn't resist so those ignorant kids had no chance.
You can trust goblins at deals. IF you specify the deal.
YOU making a bad deal is not their problem.
Its a fantasy world and you have goblins guarding magic vaults of gold and they ride little mining carts and open doors with special keys. let the story be. why dont you go write your fantasy novel with blue, green (or any color not associated with race) and show goblins doing what goblins do outside of work. Maybe I'd like that book too
@@blueberrytacos “ FANTASY story so why are people trying to create a connection between a FANTASY world filled with otherworldy phenomena and our real world?” what? So do you think that the empire from star wars is a completely original idea not based on the nazi regime. Are you surprised that Voldemort/death eaters were inspired by the nazi or dwarfs from the lord of the rings being based on Jewish people being driven out of their homes or narnia being based on Christianity or Dune being about war/genocide in the Middle East. Fantasy stories always have some form of connection with the real world because that’s where the people are from and draw inspiration from. Drawing from this is not bad as these are world events, drawing from stereotypes is when it becomes a problem.
I don't even agree with the jew thing but this was a wierd retort
@@dessmi9184 Sure, there can be inspiration from the real world, however not *every* interpretation you draw from fiction is valid or matches the author's intention. It seems like you're relying on emotional reasoning: "I feel this way, and my feelings therefore reflect something real about what I'm seeing". It just doesn't work that way. We can read too far into things or misinterpret the original intention. If Rowling said an anti-Semitic trope wasn't her intention, why not take her at face value?
It just sounds like you're trying really hard to insist that your negative interpretation is the only valid way to react. Is it possible she was just working off of the existing canon of how such fantasy creatures were depicted?
The guy that plays Ron is dope in the Servant on Apple +
Emma Watson is the perfect example of "I'm personally not attracted to her but I can see why she is so beautiful to people."
Ron is still acting. He’s on a crazy show called Servant on Apple TV, season 3 drops in like a week
Also I don’t believe it fully, but JKs team said they felt like she’d already contributed enough previously. She was interviewed in 2019.
Yo he's not wrong about that her getting sexualized cus when I saw the 3rd or 4th Harry Potter movie keep in mind I am younger than her and at the time my young entering puberty mind I realized she was looking "different" so now as an adult I don't blame her for how she is she's most likely been thru a lot of sexualization and bs. as for not having JK on I think that was unnecessary she built their characters and story and they should have kept the reunion professional to the story they can have their differences but that shouldn't affect a reunion that has to do with Harry Potter not politics and stuff.
Here are the two main stupid things about the Goblins' controversy.
First, she didn't do the movie and apparently the Goblins are not described exactly as that in the books. But also, if you look at the illustrations of Goblins in the European (German and English, mostly) folklore, they look exactly like that.
Imagine not inviting the creator of Harry Potter to a Harry Potter reunion
I remember I was 14 when the Prisoner of Azkaban film was released and people started sexualizing Emma Watson. She was about my age and people were like "She put the bra in abracadabra" 💀💀💀
Omg!! Hope she got therapy!!

She wrote about Goblins. The movies created the image of Goblins. No one compared them to the Jewish people until after the movies came out.

Because she's not... people are taking what she said out of context with her intent and agenda which is to stand up for women's rights and freedoms.
