    Another great effort Maddy and fascinating to get an insight into your races.
    My impression of your review of the stage 2 race was the early leaders went out a lot faster than you. Then you got bogged down with a large group of riders and a narrow track making it difficult to catch up the leaders. I expected to hear that the leaders went out too fast and you were able to catch them.
    Overall another race under your belt and more experience gained.
    Good luck in the next race in Italy.

      Sort of! If you get dropped from the front group it’s very unlikely you’ll ever get back as they will just be moving faster and you can no longer draft them. They also didn’t split apart, which meant they just kept going a lot faster.
      The problem with the group behind was the course itself wasn’t particularly difficult (at moments the gravel was basically tarmac!), which made drafting easier and so riders could essentially sit into the group without doing that much work (like a road race).
      In gravel racing normally the racing is really attritional, because people need more power to not get dropped from groups just simply because of the gravel surface. Also technical sections normally shed riders from groups.
      Next stop Galloway for Raiders gravel! :)

    After ride BBQ meal looked lovely. Having fun and visiting new places with your mates is the best time.

    I’m gonna have to do that race! As an American I’ve never really thought of going overseas to race gravel. We go to Mallorca every year but but not for gravel. Your vids are changing my mind about that… thanks!
    By the way, what case do you use to transport your bike?

    • @maddynutt
      @maddynutt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bike box Alan- but the TT bike one, so that I can get it in and out the box with only taking off wheels and pedals.

    The hills in the last part of the race, really got me. Definitely faded towards the end.
    I only did the race for fun. But really enjoyed the course the landscape, plus the weather was really nice:)

      Yeah this was not ideal 😳 the roads were open for the whole race. Not always the case, but sometimes races run with open roads.

      Well done Maddy, I agree a didn’t think that course was to technical. Good result in the end. Have you anymore races planned?
      Will you be doing much outdoor cycling in winter when it comes? 👍😁
