He doesn't just sing, but gives a wonderful and unique performance of every single song either written by him or not. Always sang from his heart, that is why we still get emotional listening to him. I wish he would be known to a wider audience.
I completely fell in love with this song the first time I heard it so many years ago. I have played it so many times since then and it still resonates. Newley was quite simply an unsurpassed genius and I hope that somehow he knows how much his phenomenal talent is still appreciated to this very day.
Something about this song...the lyrics are so poignant and the melody is perfect. Newley certainly had a gift for conveying such feelings in a profound way. He was rather an enigma, however very talented.
Yes, loved the film and cherish the album I obtained online which presents a major talent. Some people have that special something and Mr Newley had it in spades. He was truly the real McCoy. Sorry, does anyone know who wrote “When you gotta go” I can’t seem to find it.
*In my top 100 on my SmartPhone in 2020 and my wives Ringtone. Beautiful Song and linked lyrics which at my age (76) mean so much. Hope the Snowflakes today get as much love and appreciation from this, but I am afeared it appears to be be all about £££ a month culture.*

Such an enormous talent. I'm, glad I got to see him perform with Burt Bacharach - brilliant masterly. I miss him still. His voice, his great songs...
Saw the movie from which this song comes back when I was in college. I loved it and Anthony Newley. I still have the album.
Anthony was & still is one of THE BEST talented performers EVER. Saw him at concert at Seaworld years ago. Loved him then, love him now.

Oh god how I wish that this movie will recieve a wide home movie release. Maybe Criterion can do it!
Funeral song right there.
-- Great song. I don't know why it wasn't used more.

Don't worry, boss. Us youngsters dig it plenty. Real beautiful stuff.
