It feels soooo good to see Mike so damn happy on stage again. I'm also glad that they're playing the NOFX Theme at the end, that was quite a rendition.
It's easiest to classify ideas into categories, but sometimes life is chaotic and doesn't allow for a system of control. Maybe, we can still feel life deep down in our guts. Maybe that's why punk is. Also Melvins part was awesome.
It's punk bands like these that keep the punk movement running and moving I've been hugging myself for 32 years since the 18th I'm not 55 years old and still going strong.. punk rock is the new Punk..
wow...the quality of this video is untouchable...THANK YOU for sharing. NOFX continue to rock all there is to rock. The new album is outstanding. THANKS!
He is an incredible guy! At a show in Peru, I made a poster asking him for a pick. He gave me a handshake and the pick with which he had played throughout the show so far. That was my best moment in punk rock history.
it's a true testament to the sheer quality of the band and their lyrical and thematic direction that their songs sound so good when Mike's voice sounds like that lol
NOFX is a rare example (at least today) of 4 real characters in a band bonded by a deep friendship. I think that's part of what makes them great. Never been a huge fan, but still I have huge love & respect, even more since I read their book (made my listen to all those great 80s/90s Cali punk/HC records again - amazing stuff!). Musically they didn't invent this style of melodic punkrock but they're the ones who mastered it & made it their own trademark.
God damn they look so fucking old. Started listening to them about 20 years ago when i was in my early teens. The grey hairs make me so self conscious of my own. Fuck it. Nothing I can do about it. Love that they played old songs too. GOT A DOG NAMED DOG WHO PISSES ON MY FLOOR THATS RIGHT IVE GOT A FLOOR . Punk in drublic and So long and thanks for all the shoes are two of my all time favorite albums.
I'm loving sober Fat Mike's live vocals. I've seen NOFX 6 times in 14 years and he hasn't been this solid in awhile. Yeah his voice is still off-key and punk as fuck but it's totally on point, dare I say nuanced.
Just saw them for the first time a few weeks ago after being a fan for 20 years, yeah, Mike is on point. I was waiting since the late 90's to see them live (that's when NOFX became an obsession). I'm glad Mike is sober now. NOFX wrote one of the best albums of their career (IMO) with "First Ditch Effort". "I'm So Sorry Tony" and "Generation Z" give me chills like no songs have done in a LONG time.
Problem is they play well but spend so much time talking shit. Compare them to the Descendants, Bad Religion and Pennywise who will often blast through an intense set.
Anybody notice that Melvin is putting the yell in at random times during their shows lately? Every once in a while you'll hear a random "yeah!" Not complaining, though. His vocals are sounding awesome.
I think half of it is to give Mike a little vocal break, and the other half is so Mike can play the more complicated bass parts without having to worry about singing.
24:19 „Germany, you don’t got an ocean, but you got the Black Sea…..” hahaha. Thank God Fat Mike’s skills in writing songs is better than his geography knowledge 😉

The banner IS hilarious. I saw them at a festival in Detroit where they already had the headlining bands banners up and when NOFX were about to play in the day, it was nearly impossible for the guys working on stage to get their banner up there to where people could see it. They took down the rafters about 2 times before it worked. Even then, it only covered the "THE" on Pierce The Veil's banner. NOFX: the original trolls
The drummer is the coolest man alive.
He stinks
@@aljaysev One might call him... smelly.
Smelly!
Well he is the coolest because he has lived the good life provided by punk
My man smelly!!!!
That's one punk rock band that will never die been listening to NOFX for more than 20 years and they just never get boring...
ive never seen fat mike try so hard. Its the best Nofx I've seen. Proud of ya Mike
it's great seeing Mike happy and having fun again. it was pretty rough for a while.
What was going on with him?
I would guess it had to do with his Divorce and substance abuse. Watch shows from 2011-14. He looked miserable and wasnt really into it.
Amen brother! I saw them in Singapore during that period and it was really sad. He was drunk and angry and not having fun at all.
I guess...
could not agree more!
finally just finished reading the book. NoFX. A definite must for reading some funny stories. Awesome band.
Lots of sad stories there too...
It feels soooo good to see Mike so damn happy on stage again. I'm also glad that they're playing the NOFX Theme at the end, that was quite a rendition.
Literally the best and funniest ending to a live show ever.
"5 min. mike" LOL
The best BAND of all time. NOFX are my Rolling Stones.
my MOZART get high!
🤘
NOFX are my NOFX. NOFX are my Beatles would have made more sense
@@xxx_daftsmackhead_xxx yes but the Beatles kind of suck, plus The Rolling Stones are still touring. 😂 just like NOFX.
@@TheDouglasWinter Trash opinion. Fat Mike loves The Beatles too. Stones are mid as hell in comparison
Aging like a fine wine, gentleman....I fucking love NOFX long time...They make me smile.
"Idiots are taking over" is one of the greatest lyrics ever written in punk rock

Karina sounds AMAZING with them! I always loved DHC!!
that 80's girl dhc?

I think Mike got fatter so they needed another band member to carry him...
Nofx absolute greatest punk band in history.
Fat mike always brings an entertaining show.
Man, Mike hasn't sounded this on point live since the early 90s. Sobriety suits him well!
That's what it is?! DAMN. Amazing.
@@unamor well, at the time he had gone into a detox program. Not fully "sober" so much as MORE sober. They were RIPPIN' it here!

Melvin at the end

Fat Mike's face at 39:23...fucking priceless.
best punk live band out there to day there shit tight.
Except during Theme From a NOFX Album. What a fuckin' trainwreck, hahaha.
Still awesome, though.
Green Day?
thanks for naming a shit band
James D. S green day is mainstream pop garbage now lol, step your shit up son
John Lewis insomniac is a really good album ,m

Melvin with the accordion at the end!! most fun I've had listening someone with the accordion xD

magincap70 no not for everyone , because everyone is not me and everyone is also dumb
I can't believe all the old awesome songs they played at this one, and the gal on keyboard.....so good

Tony Roberts nah, fat mike doesn't smoke weed. over the years he's been pretty consistent about his dislike for it
Slippy Jones yeah dude I'm with you on that. FDE is the band's greatest achievement in years. Lyrically, musically, and production...ally

I believe Smelly needs an honorable mention.

Smelly's my dad
best punk drummer EVER
We share the same name (not Smelly btw). Even same spelling! :)
NOFX is arguably the greatest as they were and are now
Fat Mike's sub dub bass tone during Eat the Meek is amazing.
they still the same nofx when i was in senior highschool .yesssss !!!
3:56 how I fell in love with nofx in the 90s
Punk rock love! I was a young man rocking green hair, suspenders, and chuck taylors. Causing trouble in suburbia. Some of the best days of my life.
Im so fuckin gratteful i grew up in the nofx era!!! legends!!
as they never suck at LIVE , neway... Long Live NoFX !!!

Is it me becoming old and deaf or do they actually sound good live?

I was in that show at the Roxy when Guttermouth told the crowd to spit at them if they like them. We all went to Oki dogs after the show :)
Problem is they play well but spend so much time talking shit. Compare them to the Descendants, Bad Religion and Pennywise who will often blast through an intense set.
talking bands is fun to me sometimes, nofx is fun to me as they are
imho the only weak parts in NOFX sets are always Melvin's guitar parts. Listen to 72 hookers, he screws up non-stop. And not only this one.
They never get old. Linoleum!!!!
Eric Melvin is my hero.
still sound great after 25 years....props boys

I think half of it is to give Mike a little vocal break, and the other half is so Mike can play the more complicated bass parts without having to worry about singing.
Yeah, it makes sense. NOFX sets are like 90 minutes lol has to be hard to keep up that intensity when you're almost 50 as well
Melvin sings the songs that Mike used to sing that are too high pitched for him
Colin A I may be always maejwwwahnashnee, either waither, di t am little bet
