It's easiest to classify ideas into categories, but sometimes life is chaotic and doesn't allow for a system of control. Maybe, we can still feel life deep down in our guts. Maybe that's why punk is.
Also Melvins part was awesome.
That's one punk rock band that will never die been listening to NOFX for more than 20 years and they just never get boring...

I would guess it had to do with his Divorce and substance abuse. Watch shows from 2011-14. He looked miserable and wasnt really into it.

I'm loving sober Fat Mike's live vocals. I've seen NOFX 6 times in 14 years and he hasn't been this solid in awhile. Yeah his voice is still off-key and punk as fuck but it's totally on point, dare I say nuanced.

Just saw them for the first time a few weeks ago after being a fan for 20 years, yeah, Mike is on point. I was waiting since the late 90's to see them live (that's when NOFX became an obsession). I'm glad Mike is sober now. NOFX wrote one of the best albums of their career (IMO) with "First Ditch Effort". "I'm So Sorry Tony" and "Generation Z" give me chills like no songs have done in a LONG time.

Ich finde es großartig wie es der Rockpalast auch nach über 30 Jahren nicht schafft die Songnamen in korrekter Orthographie einzublenden. Allerdings war es in den 90ern bei den Aufzeichnungen, z.B. des Bizarre Festivals genau so. Vielleicht ist es also eine Hommage an die gute alte Zeit. :-)

Yeah, I've noticed he has even started singing some of Mike's parts. Maybe Mike the screams are too much for Mike now? lol
I think half of it is to give Mike a little vocal break, and the other half is so Mike can play the more complicated bass parts without having to worry about singing.
Yeah, it makes sense. NOFX sets are like 90 minutes lol has to be hard to keep up that intensity when you're almost 50 as well

I was in that show at the Roxy when Guttermouth told the crowd to spit at them if they like them. We all went to Oki dogs after the show :)
Problem is they play well but spend so much time talking shit. Compare them to the Descendants, Bad Religion and Pennywise who will often blast through an intense set.
talking bands is fun to me sometimes, nofx is fun to me as they are
imho the only weak parts in NOFX sets are always Melvin's guitar parts. Listen to 72 hookers, he screws up non-stop. And not only this one.
