The 15 360 sphere pics I just took are all blurry facing down despite trying different settings like 48, 12 mp, 4:3, 16:9. Compass & gimbal are calibrated & drone updated like 8 days ago.
I really enjoyed your video. I fly a DJI Air 3, and really like the quality of the video clips. My daughter lives in northern NJ(Paramus area), and when we visited all i remember seeing is concrete, asphalt, and houses. I guess I'll have to broaden my horizons next time I visit. I don't get there very often as I live in Western Canada.
It's an amazing little drone and a ton of fun to fly. That was all shot in NJ and the images are right off the memory card with no enhancements. Stay tuned for more content this week. Rick
Yep, DJI came up with the hottest technology combo yet with the Mini 4. I got a chuckle, you are so enthusiastic in front of the camera with your various descriptions. The whole line-of-sight thing sort of gets tossed with these super spectacular little mini's as they are out of sight in a flash, sometimes when they are right in front of you with various lighting and background variations. I had a Mini 3 and I crashed it in a situation that I forgot to turn the obstacle avoidance back on. I never saw it and it didn't stop when it got to the object. Lesson learned with that and the first thing I am going to do with the 4 is completely evaluate and understand the newest 360° obstacle avoidance capabilities in all scenarios I can think of to know precisely what the drone will do in all situations where it may be temporarily out of line-of-sight. I am also looking forward to evaluating the new Omnisync 4 connectivity as the talk is that signal drop off from behind objects has significantly improved.
Thanks for this great video. I have this drone ordered, and it should be delivered on Sunday. 🙂 I have a question, though. What video editing software do you use, and is it easy to learn? Thanks for your time. 😊
Yep, there are a few of them near me on the farms and you can pay a few dollars to work your way through them with the kids. It's a nice Saturday activity in the fall and we did it a lot when the kids were younger.
Thanks for the post and it takes time to get comfortable enough to trust the technology. The more you fly the drone, the more you'll trust it. Just start low and slow and gradually work your way out a little further every time you fly and eventually you'll get there. Honestly, I still get anxious when flying it, but love the view from above.
What app do you use to put your videos together? Im still learning. But like dji app ( light cut) or cap cut when I go to export the video it says 720p or 1080p i dont see a 4k option. How can I get my 4k video on TH-cam other words. Or maybe you could make a good detailed video about retrieving video from the drone to getting it to play on TH-cam. If you cant can you please just write me back and explain a little. And maybe what app is good to use. Thanks Drone in the Sky. I love it too!
I'm all over NJ, PA and NY with my flying and travel a lot as well with the drone. Most of those locations are in Monmouth and Ocean counties so we're flying in the same area. I hope you're enjoying flying near the shore, it's one of my favorites.
Beautiful landscapes. I have the M4P, but am afraid to use it. I hear people have a hard time getting the videos or pics transferred to their laptops or computers to edit them. I would love to see how you do this with the M4P.
Thanks for posting and I understand being a little nervous to fly at first but if you take your time you'll be flying like a pro. I always tell new pilots to start slow and low to get a feel for the drone and work your way out a little at a time. To transfer the videos you can either connect your drone to your computer with a USB-C cable or pop out the memory card and use an SD card reader to move them over. It's not that tricky and there are a ton of clips on TH-cam (and here) that will help you. Now get out in the backyard and start flying!
Very nice…. I’ve been watching your videos for the last 5 years and enjoyed it immensely. I own the Mavic 2 Pro , AVATA , Mini 3 Pro and the Mini 4 Pro ! My question , is there an advantage in shooting in 4K /60 rather than 4K/30 which I use all the time , besides being able to slow motion? I use 4K/60 with my AVATA . Thank you
Active track not so great. Great performance in winds. Avoidance did not see the edge of my golf cart roof. 48 Mb means 3 AEB ONLY. 12 Mb 3, 5, or 7 AEB. A variegated orange skin really helps visibility from the ground and in aerial photos from other drones.
Dennis, thanks for the post and I appreciate you stopping by. I haven't had the issues you mentioned on the Mini 4 Pro and am really impressed how good the images are for a small drone. The Active track is better than any Mini drone they've produced because of the side-sensing obstacle avoidance and with APAS turned on I haven't been able to crash it yet, even doing the "Pine Barrens" testing I like to do with new drones. The only thing I think that DJI missed on this one was the 1" sensor. They popped it on top of the Osmo Pocket 3 so we know it's in the works, possible for the Mini 5. Stay tuned for more content this week and have a great Thanksgiving. Rick
I had issues with breaking lock when objects came in between, the drone did not reacquire. It did not see the edge of my cart roof when I brought it back. I don't walk well any more so I bring it close or hand catch. Might have been the plastic edge, but the obstacle avoidance was on and it did not see the roof. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!@@Dronevalley
Quick question Rick; were you using the Zoom function an any of the footage as there looked like a little bit of a parallax effect! (Great Review BTW!!)
Nope, all of that footage (except for the closeup of the tractor) was shot without any zoom. I also didn't color grade or enhance the images, they came right off the SD card. It's an amazing piece of kit.
This video is just a material piece, thanks for sharing!!!
Nice footage, nice flying. I enjoyed this video quite a bit - thanks for sharing!
Some great footage there Rik 👍👍
Absolutely stunning. Footage. Tha cow jumping over the moon field is just WOW. Brilliant. Thanks.
Very nice, this drone is the best one, but I’m so happy with my mini3pro, 😎

Same issue.
Beautiful footage!

Beautiful footage. NJ is more beautiful than I imagined. Nice camera work. Did you color grade any of that footage? Thanks.
Great video! Beautiful south Jersey.
Beautiful job Rick... great footage...

Nice!!!
That was a cool looking maze. Do they sell tickets to go in? Thanks for sharing the awesome video. 👍👍👍

Great videos. I own the Mini 4 but I don’t have the courage to fly it as far as you appear to do.
