  • Underwater photography slideshow "SS Thistlegorm" by Andriej Szypilow - Thistlegorm's Secrets in 4K: Mystery - great, deep and omnipresent - this is the quality I seek above all in underwater photography...
SS Thistlegorm was a British cargo steamship that was built in Sunderland, North East Englandin 1940 and sunk by German bomber aircraft in the Red Sea in 1941.Her wreck near Ras Muhammad is now a well-known diving site.
A ship lying on the bottom of the sea - is a very surreal and strange view. It shouldn't be there, it should be floating. But something went wrong... And sometimes you see a big iron cemetery of sailors in front of you...
"The Last Romantic" - this is how I would describe myself as a photographer ;)Impression, reflection, emotion - this is what I seek in Photography as such. By releasing the shutter: on Earth, in the Air and under Water...I do not take photos "ala Nationale Geografic". Probably - among other things - because I can't :) But also because it simply bores me, it's just not my thing...Depth of field, white balance, composition, color degradation, digital noise - all the bastions of "technically correct photography" in my opinion can be boldly broken - provided that these are conscious procedures, - all in order to bring out in the recipient of our images a certain emotion intended by the Author...
In this video I present a slideshow of photos of "SS Thistlegorm" taken underwater - in the Red Sea (Egypt). Enjoy the views of the underwater world - Poseidon's Kingdom!.. 🙏
