Congratulations on your Subaru Crosstrek did you get the sport model like me? I got the Alpine green. I absolutely am in love with this little vehicle.
Have watched a lot of videos while waiting to receive my new Crosstrek. No one has mentioned not putting metal objects on the phone charger. Thank you!
Qi wireless chargers are equipped with safety features designed to detect objects that are not meant to be charged. Many will automatically shut down or reduce power output if they detect an object that interferes with the charging process.
Thanks for the info on the valet mode. Just got my new Crosstrek and sometimes use the valet when going to restaurants with my parents. They can't walk far so I often drop off the car with the valet.
My favorite feature on my Crosstrek Wilderness is if you press the wireless charger on/off button 3 times, it will actually start blinking amber and green and that means it's in fast charge mode. Use only when needed though as it gets hot. Also, even with the Autostop function on, if you break normally, it won't shut the car off unless you really push in the break pedal more than you really need to. Most times, I forget to turn it off and I never notice because it won't turn off unless i really push hard on the break pedal.
A secret feature I like is you could rearrange the icons in your screen just like in an iPhone. Just drag the icons to where you like them. Had to move the Auto Vehicle Hold button to the front as I use that a lot.
The feature i like is with the headlights. auto brightness head lights button. Brights will go on and off depending on how light the roads are. I think you click it a few times to activate this
Can you do a video about the back mirror? It has different buttons but I’m not sure how to use them, i just bought a crosstrek and i am very amazed of my new car, my first Subaru ever
Love the video thank you. I have to say the turn signal feature was my favorite , I couldn’t be happier with my crosstrek sport Alpine green with the yellow accent it’s heavenly. It’s my dream car , and all you crosstrek owners should thank the GOOD LORD you’re BLESSED to own such a awesome vehicle !!! PRAISE JESUS !!! 🚗
@@quandale2648 I don’t know it’s plenty fast for me although you know I haven’t stepped on it because I’m trying to break it in but I have the 2.5.liter Is that the one your you’re calling slow or the 1.5 liter?
Videos like this are totally invaluable. This is so well produced, that it could become a must-watch auto show. Recently bought the Crosstrek Limited. I am now thinking about buying a second one.
I like the turn signal feature. My Limited with the HK system has HD radio. I never saw anything about it being a HD radio in any of the literature. or any TH-cam review. You need to go in the the Radio menu and turn it on. HD radio is soooo much better. How do you reboot the head unit on my 2024 Limited with the HK system? I tried holding down the power button. It turns off the display but it does not reboot the system. I just want to reboot it and not reset it. I have a problem with my S22 Android phone and text messages. It randomly notifies me when I have a text. I will see text coming in on my phone and watch but the car will not notify me so I can play the text messages. Then for no apparent reason, a text message will come in and the car will notify me and display a prompt on the screen allowing me to view and play the text message. I am hoping, rebooting the system will get it to work consistently as it should.
Yes it's odd at first, but you'll likely get used to the touchscreen controls in about a month or two. That was my experience. It's similar to when phones changed to only touchscreens. You may want to store a small microfiber wipe (Lens Cleaning Cloth - Microfiber - up & up) in the charging area to keep the touchscreen clean.
I noticed that you have had the same problem as me, whenever I try to charge my iPhone on the wireless charger it works for a few seconds then it starts flashing orange and stops charging. It works fine on my relatives' samsungs and andriods, but it seems the charger has an error with iphones.
Funny how about 70 percent of the infotainment system customization features shown in the video are not available for (Japan-built) Crosstreks sold in Mexico. 🤣 I mean, we don't even get the Subaru StarLink system. We don't get weather updates or "air"-updates for the software. I went to the dealer and told them about this and how I wanted to move the Auto Start-Stop button to the lower main bar so I don't have to go the home menu when Apple CarPlay is enabled and they didn't know how to do it. I told them I found information about how recent software updates enabled this but they told me they couldn't update it more. We also don't get to customize the "audible signal" for keyless entry system. All the options are there except for the "audible sign" function. 🤦🏻♂ No "valet-mode" either. I mean, idk what we're getting anymore. Really bad from Subaru México.
Since you seem to be the one that’s posting for the longest for dealers and I can’t get an answer from Subaru of America my question is on the crosstrek wilderness specifically I’m debating between it and the Outback wilderness I prefer the engine in Outback but it’s bigger than I’ll ever need or use and the crosstrek has no power folding mirrors in USA but Subaru of Philippines offers it on certain trims of crosstrek so can those parts be used on usdm crosstrek my garage door isn’t as wide as I’d like as side mirrors are expensive so I prefer to fold em in just to be safe
The wireless charging pad isnt worth turning on. I drove for a few hour running android auto and charging my phone on thr pad. When I arrived the phone was really hot at the battery was nearly empty. It doesn't seem to put out enough juice to actually charge or even slow the drain caused by wirelessly running the display. Now I just always plug in.
I love my 2019 Crosstrek, but I didn’t enjoy wading through something like 500 pages to learn and then deliberately forget hundreds of useless features and settings. I’m upgrading to a Crosstrek Wilderness soon, and I dread the fact that it will have an even more severe case of creeping feature-itis. Why do I need a switch to turn off the wireless charger that I don’t want so the car won’t blow up if I put the keys that don’t exist on top of it?
There is an up/down toggle button on the left side of the steering wheel (next to the “i” button that scrolls through a bunch of options for what shows at the top of whatever they call the speedometer/tachometer screen. One of the options includes a bar graph display for mpg, one shows average mpg on trip A, one shows instantaneous mpg.
@@carsrick3230 be very careful in attempting to clean the backing-up camera. It is very sensitive. I read in my Outback manual that the dealer should do it. My dealer said yes and if I ever felt it needed to be cleaned just come in and they would do it for free because it was better that they did it the correct way rather than the owner inadvertently damaging it.
I can’t believe they actually removed the actual knobs for the heater and A/C controls. How ignorant is it to remove something that you can feel and adjust without looking away from the road. Now to change the heat or A/C controls you have to look away from the road to adjust these controls. Hopefully people sue Subaru for endangering our lives because of this stupid screen, that you can’t feel the controls, because they are nonexistent. Pure stupidity !
There are physical buttons for adjusting temperature. With a little practice, you can adjust the temperature without taking eyes off the road. In addition, there is a physical volume knob (and volume buttons on steering wheel) and a physical tuning knob.
I wonder how much less the Crosstrek would be if those features were left off the vehicle. Get me from A to B reliably without freezing or baking during the journey.
