Our EPL Predictions video has just been released... last season we got top 3 and bottom 3 right. Can we do it again? th-cam.com/video/LrpDCsZnpSc/w-d-xo.html
Maresca actually knows how to get the best out of him he had Cucurella overlapping when Sancho was on the ball even saw Veiga providing that overlapping run, also he was allowed roam across as well not just staying on the left he constantly had options ahead of him. Great analysis 👌
One thing ive learnt over time is players are always different depending on the team they play for. Look at Players that leave United and play for a different club, or better yet, players like Noni who look good now, when i saw Noni's PSV highlights i was convinced he wasnt gonna make it in the prem, but he actually looks better now than he did in those videos which is shocking how he changed his playstyle to something akin to Jack Grealish's touchline dribbling. Sancho will be fine, the Chelsea team revolves around one touch football and linkup play and i mean the whole fowards, Neto excluded. You have Jackson, Noni, Palmer, Sancho, Felix , Nkunku. they all typically love that whole linkup play style. What i do think Sancho will need is a defender behind him whose capable of fully supporting him as a passing option. Im both a Chelsea and Dortmund fan so i might be biased, but i think he'll be fine. You made some good observations though, great video.
Chelsea are too big to fail they have stockpiled too much talent to not compete for the league in the foreseeable future. If they don't compete the project will be a disaster
I think he fits well tactically so, in Barcelona. There may be a grace period of acclimatization, especially with regards to his tendency to dribble constantly. But he is a player that will enjoy the slower pace of laliga, and having players to supply like Lewa, Ferran and olmo will be exciting.
@@i__ampower___ Dortmund was not a Possession based team if you just look at their PSG game which was Sancho's best game after joining Dortmund again he was better in counter attacking
A few years back you released a video asking if we "overanalyse" football, which I think is true sometimes but again we can also underanalyse it, especially when it comes to an individual player and how successful they are in certain situations. In this day people care mostly about stats with no context and watch mainly highlights from twitter and push Ballon d' Or narratives, so I can see why a player like Sancho gets the criticism he gets as it is not about what could be but what will get clicks and interactions on the internet. It is the same for players in good situations for them, which leads to them being overrated. We more often forget that this is a team game where your stats and performances are influenced by a lot of factors (as you said in the video about a team's performance), so for me this is one of the best videos that tackles the topic of a player's performances without falling into questioning his mentality or attitude and just sticks to what was happening on the pitch. An example in the past would be for instance Pirlo, who was great for small clubs as a 10, but could not break the first team of Inter or Milan until Mazzone tried something new with him that extended his career at the top for like 15 years.
I feel that Maresca will try to balance the flanks. While one is direct; the other one relies on his playmaker abilities. For example, Mudryk on the left and Palmer on the right, or Sancho on the left and Madueke on the right.
Love this channel, always top quality. Slight critique but as an editor, i think the transitions from topics could be smoother. In the beginning of the video you started with your usual synopsis of the player and it cut out to sound of commentating. If that was resolved the immersion and video quality would be perfect. Just something to keep in mind! Love the analysis!
Nobody is doubting Sancho's ability, is his attitude and work ethic, Sancho is his own worst enemy but he blames everyone else, players like him will be "what if" type of players
Hi pythag, great vid again! Just wanted to ask for some advice. I used to play for my school as a winger but I find myself nowadays suiting the profile of a Trent (long passing as my greatest strength, similar weaknesses to Trent), in essence I’m a crap version of Trent lol. Where would you suggest I try to play positionally? I don’t really have the speed or dribbling ability to be a good winger
@Dilllll26 well maresca wants his wingers to be just pure dribblers. Madueke will be on the Right. So the left is still open for a fight. Which sancho might fit but needs a good half space attacker like nkunku that's why I suggested it. If nkunku starts in the wings he will need a fullback overlapping to help provide width. That's why I said he should be a halfpace attacker with sancho creating from wide.
@@Dilllll26 actually maresca loves his wingers to be out wide to pin down the opposition's wing backs , not only that he wants wingers who has touch line dribbling thats why he didn't want sterling because he cuts in nd also blocks the player running into half space , mudryk as well could have done well but he loses possession, but sancho nd madueke can stretch the both wings with touchline dribble , i think chilwell as a left midfielder would be great , maresca is very good , needs understanding from players is the counter attacking , dominating football
@@HIM3153 I know what maresca wants. But the best for the team is RW Palmer (gusto overlap for the width)and nkunku 10. Nkunku and Palmer are consistent world class game winners. Sancho is one of the most technically gifted players in PL. What he lack are pace and aggression. The lack of pace can be mitigated with good tactics and aggression with good management. He didn't get either of those at United.
No what he lacks is a strong mentality and what he has is a big ego. I bet you don't even follow every United game. There was never any doubt of his ability within the fan base, it was his character.
Personally, I think he will do well at Chelsea under Maresca but tactically, there has to be adjustments. A midfielder who plays between the CB and full back would compliment him well. Could be Palmer but he already plays on the right, so could it be Sancho on the right and not Madueke?
Sancho needs players who move and make runs for him. He didn’t get that at United which is why he struggled. Looking at his profile, I’m not sure why United bought him back then when we were nowhere near having a team of that sort
@@rtads11 no we were under ole. Rashford, greenwood, martial all known for pace. They used to make killer runs in behind. However when Ronaldo came, our entire out of possession tactics had to change because Ronaldo couldn't press properly anymore which didn't work in oles high press system.
@@tahmidistheone United were never a pressing team under Ole, in fact they were known for chasing games majority of time because they sat a lot, were broken down and started trailing. Ronaldo did not change anything about their defensive structure, people wanted a reason for why it did not work so they made up stuff and it basically was, "United do not play like Man City or Liverpool and it's Ronaldo's fault", ignoring the numerous problem that the club had for headlines as Ronaldo slander sells, even when it is unwarranted. After he left, ten Hag became the new target for them and now the push is for him to lose his job, and United still exhibit similar issues to when Ronaldo was there.
I think his floor should be quite a bit lower than you are portraying here, mainly because we have seen that it is a lot lower than borderline UCL class when his weaknesses are in the spotlight. I do think he is an impressive creative player when he has time on the ball, he can pick that first incisive pass into the box really well. But he is so limited physically because, let's be honest, he is lazy

Wrong. That was only toward the end of his career, mostly at Madrid, where he could have been deployed as a CAM. Hazard was a technically and physically complete winger. Watch how Conte used him, Willian and Pedro in transition and won the PL.
Kinda funny for your disagreement with Maresca, he said he is going to use him at 1v1 situations and against low block. But you are saying he would excel in middle playmaking role where chelsea is stacked.
@@PythagorasinBoots I'm not sure any player at United looks good but I'm also not sure if Sancho will do well. A Dortmund journalist recently said that Sancho seemed to have lost his explosiveness when he had just come back to Dortmund which was a little alarming. He did say he slowly got back there but I'm unsure as to what he can do. I think Maresca and Joe shields have a good plan tho. I want to see him succeed
Sancho will find you...on Ultimate Team at 2am. In reality, i think he flatters to deceive. Quite one dimensional, he's able to do half of what a Saka or Salah can, but without the explosive attributes that create space and uncertainty. Looking better against Bundesliga teams makes sense, it's a lower standard of play. Fifa legend innit, like Felix, looks great on TH-cam. Btw I worked out why that LFC sub doesn't like you.
I wouldn’t say Bundesliga is a slow pace league necessarily but it does allow for certain types of players to flourish which generally struggle in English football (unless you play for a Man City).
Bit of both. Numerous managers and players have mentioned the difference in the pace and the athletes between the PL and other leagues, hence why Pep and Klopp for example had to revamp the whole team and outlook on the game to be competitive.
I think you need to add a section for Mentality because it's really important part of evaluating how successful a player will become. Sancho for example is an incredible footballer, but his weak mentality is like -8 points from where he could be.
I don't think anyone noticed the Dusan Tadic in him. Maybe he is another talent that is judged wrongly because of his skin color. I'm sure he will find his value at some point.
@@DJM3KS If you're still trying to pretend Bundesliga numbers meaning anything go check Mkhitaryan's, Haller's, Jovic's or Werner's. Werner one season had 47 g/as yet nobody talks about him anymore. YOU ARE JUST BUFFOONS at this point.
I've always felt that Sancho got a raw deal at United. Ten Hag is a politik who doesn't think twice about throwing players under the bus to protect his own skin. I loved that he got back to Dortmund last year and showed his quality immediately. My only worry for him is just how bloated the Chelsea squad is with wide players and playmakers. Palmer, Joao Felix, Nkunku, Mudryk, Neto, Madueke... it's a bit ridiculous the number of wide players at Chelsea. Is he just going to get lost in the shuffle.
LW: Sancho x Mudryk RW: Noni x Neto CAM: Cole x Felix 9/false 9: Jackson x Nkunku Hope this clarifies things? Of course, most of the players can play multiple positions.
Misha is failing cos he cant actually dribble past nobody. hes good at staying wide, and i wish he'd just keep it simply and run down the wing. but he tried dribbling and flopping and I'm surprised hes above Sancho on these successful take on data, cos now i need to actually know what a take on is, cos i can count his successful dribbles in the last few 10 games in two hands and wont be using all 10 fingers either
That's ur problem,Sancho was never a one on one dribbler,he lacks that acceleration to actually go past people after taking them on,he,s more comfortable as a sort of an inside 10,where he can dribble ,create space them move the ball on
hes a baller but hes not an athlete I think he no longer has the mentality needed to stamp his own authority and dominate. Which I think will be a recipe for disaster in this chelsea side especially
I think he can play on the left effectively @ Chelsea. Reminds me of Juan Mata. But he would have to up his defensive bit and attitude on and off the ball if he is to secure at least 45 mins regularly in this Chelsea team. It’s a straight battle between him and Neto. They can share that position 45mins each half depending on the opposition.
Wouldn't he play better in a system where he's playing with a very mobile striker, a controlla type of an 8, and an overlapping fullback (him being a false winger-ish)? Love ur work❤🎉
@peluminova2515 yes he can, but he just said sancho would do good as a wide playmaker, which is confusing since Joao & palmer play more in that inverted winger and with chilwell, cucu & even gusto overlapping
@Tostao_3 I'm not sure what your concern is. There's clearly gonna be rotation and competition for places. It's now more a question of if Sancho cab hold the LW spot, which I think he can, and if the team and system is right for him. Positive signs so far.
@Tostao_3 Felix can be deployed more as a 8/10 in the 2nd half or against teams we need more ball carrying ability against from central areas and someone who can arrive late into the box to score chances like the one he did vs Wolves and the types Enzo has been failing to capitalise on.
@@notorious3496 Every single player at United looks like trash other than Bruno. There's absolutely a reason why this video is warranted. He went to Dortmund and his underlying numbers went back up immediately even though he wasn't fully fit. Playing Atleti, PSG and Madrid decided to double team him, meaning he is threatening
@@juwonwharwood4642 just cause he dribbled some players? His final third actions are trash. He lacks pnp, doesn't press hard, takeons are limited, and he's average at maximum positions.
We try and cover these in the conclusion as it’s hard to do as a full section with clips or stats
@@PythagorasinBoots Yea that's a good point- it can be challenging to visualize something like this.
I don't think anyone noticed the Dusan Tadic in him. Maybe he is another talent that is judged wrongly because of his skin color. I'm sure he will find his value at some point.
Those stats paint mudryk in a bad light
Rightfully so
nico jackson!!!!
He's good at convincing people that he's good.
loser, he is good
@@rayallan3650 So good he even brainwashed a kid's brain.
@@mesicek7 I guess 17g 16a at dortmund season was laziness loll
@@DJM3KS If you're still trying to pretend Bundesliga numbers meaning anything go check Mkhitaryan's, Haller's, Jovic's or Werner's. Werner one season had 47 g/as yet nobody talks about him anymore. YOU ARE JUST BUFFOONS at this point.
Can you do how good is ENZO
He relies on underlapping and overlapping runs from the fbs and mids. He cannot function without a team full of off the ball running.
if he works on his crossing we just might see the sancho Manchester payed for back then
Oh man 😂 this is gonna ruffle some feathers
Seems like a decent player. I still don't think he has gone to the best team for him.
Can you remake Joao Felix
He's mid
Doo haaland, Saka and Saliba
I pity Chelsea.
I pity delusional United fans. 1 assist already in just 45 minutes. How's Money Mase doing? 😂😭
United is the problem. Not Sancho
when are you doing lamine yamal
I've always felt that Sancho got a raw deal at United. Ten Hag is a politik who doesn't think twice about throwing players under the bus to protect his own skin. I loved that he got back to Dortmund last year and showed his quality immediately. My only worry for him is just how bloated the Chelsea squad is with wide players and playmakers. Palmer, Joao Felix, Nkunku, Mudryk, Neto, Madueke... it's a bit ridiculous the number of wide players at Chelsea. Is he just going to get lost in the shuffle.
LW: Sancho x Mudryk
RW: Noni x Neto
CAM: Cole x Felix
9/false 9: Jackson x Nkunku
Hope this clarifies things?
Of course, most of the players can play multiple positions.
Day 3000 of asking for a video on Jeremy doku
Misha is failing cos he cant actually dribble past nobody. hes good at staying wide, and i wish he'd just keep it simply and run down the wing. but he tried dribbling and flopping and I'm surprised hes above Sancho on these successful take on data, cos now i need to actually know what a take on is, cos i can count his successful dribbles in the last few 10 games in two hands and wont be using all 10 fingers either
That's ur problem,Sancho was never a one on one dribbler,he lacks that acceleration to actually go past people after taking them on,he,s more comfortable as a sort of an inside 10,where he can dribble ,create space them move the ball on
hes a baller but hes not an athlete
I think he no longer has the mentality needed to stamp his own authority and dominate.
Mata 10x the player
basically he should have joined Arsenal
Misprofiled at utd just like most of their marquee signings
But sancho is kind of similar to Grealish
Cool story
Maybe he if puts down the xbox controller and 🍔
Very overrated player, has a good technique but no work ethic, expected much better from him at united but oh well, good riddance
Wouldn't he play better in a system where he's playing with a very mobile striker, a controlla type of an 8, and an overlapping fullback (him being a false winger-ish)?
Love ur work❤🎉
You mean profiles like Jackson, Cole or Felix, and Cucurella or even Chilwell?
Seems like he's at the right place for him...
@@peluminova2515 we'll see man🔥
The misunderstood what now?
All these great players out there and you decided to make a video on this guy? 🤦🏻♂️ How good is he actually? Well, we saw that for two seasons.
There's a reason why Dortmund or Juventus didn't go for him. Not just cause of this wages but he's rarely developed over the years.
@@juwonwharwood4642 please specify those “underlying numbers”. Maybe I’m missing something.🙌🏾
@@juwonwharwood4642 well you can say the samething about Chelsea players for the past 2/3 seasons with the exception of Palmer.... and you're wrong not just Bruno, we also got players like Martinez and Garnacho who are shining sparks in this shit team.
in the past two seasons at least we won trophies with the shit team.
can't say the same about Chelsea..
Another clueless move from the worst owners in top flight footy. If Sancho thinks it will be easier at Chelsea, he's in for a rude awakening.
I would like to a see combo of:
Guiu Nkunku Joao
Neto Joao Palmer OR Jackson Sancho Noni OR Sancho Nkunku Palmer
So many options now 😄
His mentality is childlike.
Bro you need a new editor. ASAP
@@docgraal485 we had a copyright issue and TH-cam deleted segments of the video
video author: Great ball control
Sancho: loses the ball on first touch
We don’t just post the best clips, so even if our overall judgment on a attribute is positive we will also show bad examples. I think you’d be hard pressed to argue someone like Sancho has a shit touch and close control
Maresca has multiple attacking options. There is no way this team will not cook.
So in conclusion, he's terrible at everything, and lazy.
Annoyed that we signed him tbh. Really not a fan.
