I say the bigger the better. I just bought an LG 12000 BTU Air Conditioner for my tiny room. It cools it down FAST and it gets cold inside. I don't even have to leave it on because once it gets cold you can turn it off and the coolness remains inside the room for a long time. With the fan on (once I turn off the AC) I don't even notice that the AC has been turned off. Saves me a lot of energy and money.
Plain and simple, I wasn’t sure about adding the ceilings, but, you cleared that up right away. 👍🏼 I did the math for the bedroom 17’W X 14’L with an 8’ ceiling and came up with 238 sq ft. I then times that by 25 and got 5,950 which is telling me a 6,000 BTU A/C is that possible?? Or should I up it to either a 7,000 or 8,000 BTU. It’s hard for me to believe because the very first AC I had was a whopping 13,000 then I went to a 12,000 and this last one that quit on me was a 10,000 BTU all Friedrich 👍🏼. Quite a big difference from a 6, 7, or 8,000 wouldn’t you say, Steve. Lol 😆 . I won’t hold you to any advice you may offer, this is totally on me, but which one would you go with, I’ve always been overkill in everything I did that’s why it’s hard for me to believe 6,000 will do it 🤷🏻♂️??
Yea my bedroom has 10 windows which are a bunch of cracked and some completely busted single pane 1960s windows with 0 insulation. If it’s 95 outside it’s at-least 95 inside. I’m trying to figure out a good size unit. If you’re wondering why not replace windows, it’s because my whole house has 22 windows and 10 are in my room alone so I decided to replace half at a time due to window pricing. With that said, ITS F-IN HOT. Rest of house is a cool 69, you go to the back of the house and you feel like you’ve entered hell! So I think a 10,000 BTU unit for a 12’x10’ bedroom should work for now. And if you’re wondering how 10 windows fit in a 12x10, trust me when I say I have zero inches of wall space. Just window after window. The room used to be a sun room before I moved in. I’ll let y’all know if it works with windows that might as well be open.
Thx/ Dankie. This was very educational. Is it posable to have the conversion to meter, please? That box or wall unite u don't find any more in South Africa. I still have the Chrysler-model of the 1970's...
I'm trying to find a 10,000 air conditioner unit that's very short in length that sticks out of the window and can be higher in height and width can you help me with that I'm sending someone over here to do this for me today I'll keep returning your finishers to get the right size? I have Toshiba 10,000 BTU but it's way too long out of the window the room is about square feet.
