When I first saw this movie, the only thing that went thru my mind was "THAT REAPER IS EXACTLY HOW I WANTED VENOM TO BE IN THE MOVIES!".
The way it moves, the sounds it makes, even some of the fx they used would look amazing on Venom in the Raimi universe instead of what we got with Topher Grace.

It's not that far fetched from her perspective if you think about it all he did was knock her out drag her into his own car, kidnap her and crash on the same road he lost his wife. Plus it didnt help that she knew he had been associated with his wifes sudden death.
She also couldn't see Johnny / Death, since she had no traumatic event of death to allow her to see spirits.
