- This battle is a joint operation between the demons and Nezha, seeking to stop the humans. Sun Wukong powers up Nezha to where he's actually a threat so it's best to take him down first. Lu Bu also shows up yet again to fight Nezha, a powered up version at that. If you approach Lu Bu with Diaochan in your party, then he'll switch to your side and you can unlock him after the battle.
You know now's a good time to point out how freaking impressive Lu Bu has been in the background of this game. This is his third time fighting Nezha, a cyborg specifically made to kill powerful enemies, and he's survived each encounter. Not only that, but the same Lu Bu right here that's been beaten so badly manages to survive ON HIS OWN fights against the demons, the resistance, and the mystic army. Not only that but he survives the Hydra's attack which kills every other great hero, including Susano'o, and yet Lu Bu survives past Sekigahara several battles in the future where Nezha said his body should have been broken by that point. And then still survives the 4th encounter with Nezha.
It's just a credit to how this guy can survive all this punishment and STILL be able to fight without properly resting cuz of the sheer determination to defeat Nezha, avenge Diaochan, and prove himself the greatest. Not a lot of people ever notice that Lu Bu's never even had the chance to fight Nezha properly. So what do you think he'd be capable of in a fair fight? Here's a bit of a spoiler:
Next time we see Lu Bu, he'll be defeating Orochi. After Orochi killed Nezha effortlessly.
In Dynasty Warriors 4, Lu Bu says he will chase anyone who harms Diaochan to the ends of the Earth. Seems he made on that promise.
One thing I thought of is..
Nezha was made specifically to fight mystics. That's why he is so powerful. Because humans fight differently, he loses to them. But Lu Bu keeps losing.
What if Lu Bu is a strong as a mystic?
Pretty much. Lu Bu's strength is inhuman, to the point even mystics compliment his strength. It just works against him when fighting Nezha because of how he was made.
The entire premise of the Warriors Orochi games was that you band together to overcome any obstacle. Every major character that lost was because they went in alone: Orochi, Nezha, Susano'o. It's only natural the historical epitome of 'go it alone' would lose consistently.
If you were trapped outside the walls Deng Ai would suggest using the cannons to blow open a hole in the wall
