As a skinhead ( many moons ago) ...living in Coventry...circa:1980 ish...me and a few punks + skins used to venture over Birmingham regular to see discharge...gbh...drongos...etc etc at the cedars club. Amazing band..still doing it now.. full respect.

That’s because metal won. The underground is MASSIVE. Thousands of original and worthwhile bands and thousands of awesome artists who are coming up and playing metal to this day for the love of the genre. It’s self sustaining.
Punk died. Only fringe amounts of people play it compared to UG metal, because it was always a trend with them. That has a lot to due with leftist politics being populist. The leftist heart of punk moved on to other things. Now new leftists are into dril rap and other crap that’s popular today. Populism will always kill music genres. Underground Metal will thrive forever because we never cared about being heard or being popular.
This band is responsible for all things fast and heavy.

Saw them in 83 in LA, best punk show i ever went to. I remember arguing with my rocker buddies who thought punk was a joke that decades from now my music will still be relevent while your Poison and Cinderella glam rock will be the joke. Next year it will be 40 years and I still see teenagers today with Discharge, GBH, Exploited... on their jackets

Sat in Star and Garter MCR couple years ago with a silly green hat ect and some old punk asks me what time I'm on. spike, my mate starts cocking himself, says, He thinks your Rainy.
