It’s always good to get out detecting more matter what you find. It just makes you feel good. What does your wife think about your obsession with metal detecting? I never see her in the videos so I guess it is not really her thing!!lol. My wife has started to get into metal detecting because she wants to spend time with me so she knows that is a good way do do it!!😊. Next year I am leaving Arkansas and going to Europe!! I am determined to find something good with my metal detector!! Just want to say you my favorite TH-camr! Keep putting out the content!

Well we’ve just watched this video as had to see your Gold declaration one first! It was good to watch this though and hear your first comments about wanting going on the Medieval church field - knowing now what you found there. 🤩 You’re right though, you should never get down with a not so good day as it’s just part of doing this hobby. You make your videos interesting no matter what you find John and I agree that bottle top and the clip of the little street again in Edinburgh and the history was a great follow up 👏
My great grandmother was born in the close that would have been next to the Whitehorse, Duncan’s Close where the lawn bowling is now. Was thrilled when I visited from Canada and found it.

I used to work with a Mackay, he told me that he was thrown off the Culloden Battlefield because the Mackays were infamously traitors to the Jacobean cause at the time of the battle!

It's not always hammereds and Gold Sovereigns John. Is White Horse Whiskey any good? Like I say about fishing...a bad day fishing is better than a good day doing anything else.
When I was at college our student union bar boycotted a certain brand of whisky. The reason was that the distillery was the same company that made Thalidomide. History in a bottle cap!
Even the " Junk" can be interesting if it has some other connection you're aware of. Your knowledge of Scotland and it's history brings even the the more mundane to life. I really appreciate the effort you put in. And with 35000 subscribers its paying off. Thanks and we'll done.

John, the Risotto was great! I mixed it with Orzo and my son made me admit that it was Rice a Roni....a famous American boxed rice and pasta mix. Oh great! My afternoon videos will be fun today! I look forward to it!
