Yeah watching this makes me feel like a chump 😂 He makes it look so easy. Then when I do it, on average it takes me 4 minutes haha. Centers are easy, it just takes me time to do the edges. Also I haven't learned all the algs I know the flipping algorithm and the parody algorithm he used in the video.
I've seen that you and crazybadcuber both use a flipping algorithm. Do you really need an algorithm for that? I've always just flipped the edges intuitively, and its not hard and the way I do it is different but uses the same exact amount of moves
I don't get it. I would probably solve the most cases the same way like you, but my average is around 2 minutes, so more than one minute slower as yours. Sure, I do some pauses while solving it, but the pauses aren't that long I think... :/
Lol, I probably would have done the same exact things, maybe a few things different that could be improved, yet i am still hovering around 3 mins. I suppose i should just practice and find more optimal move solutions.
For the ones asking for parity, thers no parity in odd cubes (3x3,5x5,7x7) only in pair cubes, because in the pair cubes u domt have centers and that kimda makes it harder =)
There is a discrepancy that occurs in 5x5 edge pairing that ppl call parity however it can be solved intuitively aswell as with the help of parity algs
Feliks, what happened to your WR cube (the modded one)? Also, I've been wondering for a while now if you'd be willing to sell me your Dayan MF8 4x4 since you no longer use it as your main? Message me if you want to talk about it.
I'm very surprised that you don't know all the last-two tredges algorithms! I guess when the rest of your tredge pairing and centers is so fluid and your 3x3 solving phase is world-class, an extra algorithm doesn't really make a difference.
thanks for the wt, how do freestyle corners work? (description :P) I like how you saw parity with three edges left. Also like how you solved the last four edges at the first solve.
Guys Feliks is now making a new 3x3 how to get faster series! He will upload them in future reference since he broke the record and much faster now then when he was young.
What are you talking about? He had parity at the end of the first solve. He didn't use the shitty beginner's alg (Rw2 B2, etc) he used the good one (Rw U2 x, etc).
Edge pairing is free slice. It's pretty intuitive and after watching this video you should be able to figure it out. It's pretty easy to learn by yourself.
I can solve a 3x3 in around 20-30 seconds but any big cubes I can’t wrap my head around how to speed solve. I can do the 5x5 in 2.5 minutes and I’m still doing the centers>edge paring> f2L>oll>pll like a 3x3. My 7x7 takes me about 14 mins lmao.
It's actually not that hard, I bought a 4x4 like 4 years ago, learned the method in a few hours online and that's it. Ofc I would NEVER be as fast as Feliks, I'm just saying it's pretty easy to do the pairing with edges and centers. Much easier than it looks.
+Feliks Zemdegs @Feliks Zemdegs What happens if you are doing your first 4 edges and you realize that one of the edges you need is in the bottom layer? Do you do an x2, create the pair, x2 and then insert or what?
he still competes in it. Hes beaten the average he set on that day since then. He can beat the 5.66 but it will be really hard to beat cause that just a really nice solve over all.
i have an eastsheen 5x5, my friend broke it and from then on the screws have been super loose. no matter how much i try to tighten it, it just loosens again. any suggestions for me?
feliks when your fingers are cold what do you do? can you solve that fast?(i mean normal fast) or you have to heat your fingers how you do that? thanks
Hey Feliks, what would you say would be good time intervals to aim for (like centers, edges, 3x3) if I want to get a sub-2 minute? I've gotten really close, like 2:08, but I want to break that barrier. Thanks. :)
It's pleasant to see WR holder does the same moves as you do, just 10 times faster. LOL.
10 times more effective and 20 times better lookahed
Yeah watching this makes me feel like a chump 😂 He makes it look so easy. Then when I do it, on average it takes me 4 minutes haha. Centers are easy, it just takes me time to do the edges. Also I haven't learned all the algs I know the flipping algorithm and the parody algorithm he used in the video.
metalim parody srsly
its parity wtf
Why do you hesitate so much looking for centers but at competitions you're just like JDNFOSNCIANDL
+epicdman813 People can't see the obvious makes me go "duh!". He doesn't need to be the best here in the videos. tsh! ._.
+NinjaThug what
What
Looking through camera
And I'm sitting their, pairing edges one at a time
S0uLFR nice
well, ill never vbe as fast as feliks, mostly because i dont have 20 brains.
Kennedy640 If feliks has 20 brains in his head they must be really tiny :p
Ok
You're not only WR holder, but honestly you really explain well! Very useful video!
He was.
Donni Boi
"You're not *only* WR holder"
He is right now with 44:83 secs
Hello 2013
I learn free slice by jusy watchimg this video it is so intuitive
iGotDerp I learnt it by watching it full speed and trying to follow what he was doing
That look ahead and minimal cube rotations was beautiful.
I dig the "sledgehammer flip", much more "trick-able"
Appreciate it man.
+Chase Wood He's Feliks Zemdegs. Period! xD
It's crazy how many steps ahead you are with each move.
Does it help you personally to do slow solves like this? Or is this more for our benefit?
Felix: (By the world record holder)
Me: Seriously?
Felix: What time do you get?
Me: 18 min 48 secs
Is he wr holder for 5x5 average and single, or 7x7. I get them mixed up…
Its 5x5!
+Oliver Fritz now also 7x7
ikr :D
ESCool And now almost everything 3x3-7x7 haha
Both
Don't worry, mine's not modded either.
Thank you is tutorial for rubik5x5
seems that shengshou cubes are good and by the way you explain very-very well
Freestyle corners ?
Anyway that's a nice example solve video.
That's an awesome way to do the centers. I'm going to start doing that.
I don't entender very mucho o.O
Es una referencia a holasoygerman? (del video del ingles)
I've seen that you and crazybadcuber both use a flipping algorithm. Do you really need an algorithm for that? I've always just flipped the edges intuitively, and its not hard and the way I do it is different but uses the same exact amount of moves
sigalig It's not really an algorithm, I just take it out with R U R' then re-insert with F R' F' R
I use R U R' U' F' U F for flipping because my in reduction placed cross edges stay
TheTH-camCuber this flipping alg preserve it too
TheTH-camCuber yeah thats what I do I guess the only difference is that feliks is sledge hammering the edge in
TheTH-camCuber try doing a sledgehammer than reinserting it. That way you can flip the edge without affecting your cross edges.
7x7 walkthrough! I know it would take a while but you would only have to do one.
7x7 is the same as 5x5 just more time consuming if you kno how to solve 3x3 4x4 and 5x5 you know how to solve 6x6 7x7 8x8 9x9 10x10 11x11 13x13 17x17
You probably won't reply but what cube is that? Every time you turn it, it sounds like divinity.
You are the fastest cuber i have ever seen.Even when doing example solves. How long have you been cubing?
The awkward Cuber for 8 yrs
I was surprised that you and I are using the same way to solve a 5x5 especially the last 4 edges. XD
create a tutorial of the last 4 edges
Thanks!
10 years ago God bless
I know him and I've seen him use ZBLL in solves. Case closed.
you sound ill feliks. but it doesnt change the fact u were still awesome with the 5x5 rubiks cube
I don't get it. I would probably solve the most cases the same way like you, but my average is around 2 minutes, so more than one minute slower as yours.
Sure, I do some pauses while solving it, but the pauses aren't that long I think... :/

OLL parity cases happen on the 5x5 and 7x7 when solving the last edge or two edges, there just isn't any PLL parity.
feliks even got a parity in his video. who are you to contradict the lord.
Garret Simpson or OLL
There is a discrepancy that occurs in 5x5 edge pairing that ppl call parity however it can be solved intuitively aswell as with the help of parity algs
As well*

Awesome
Actually, he had parity on both sides. He knew the parity algs. The alg he didn't know what a last 2 edges case before parity.
Description "Freestyle corners and edges" I think it's Freestyle CENTERS and edges ^^
In case you don't get a notification, I've sent you a message explaining what I need so I can pay you. Thanks dude!
I think the WR cube is Florian's.
every speedcubers use CLL method,at first u solve first layer an then you do OLL and PLL in one alg
It's actually not that hard, I bought a 4x4 like 4 years ago, learned the method in a few hours online and that's it. Ofc I would NEVER be as fast as Feliks, I'm just saying it's pretty easy to do the pairing with edges and centers. Much easier than it looks.
Thanks- it made things a lot clearer! It's like I can do this now...........No I really can't :-)
Why is it called freestyle corners And edges? What does do with corners?
'zup dude? what algorithm do you use to solve that edge parity? thanks!
you are the best :* I hope to become like you one day .... keep it up
i all ways used yao for 5x5. i seems allot smarter to do it this way.
+Feliks Zemdegs @Feliks Zemdegs
What happens if you are doing your first 4 edges and you realize that one of the edges you need is in the bottom layer? Do you do an x2, create the pair, x2 and then insert or what?
he didnt keep it for years, 2 people broke it with a 54 and 52, then he took the title again
What was the second parity alg you used
he still competes in it. Hes beaten the average he set on that day since then. He can beat the 5.66 but it will be really hard to beat cause that just a really nice solve over all.
i have an eastsheen 5x5, my friend broke it and from then on the screws have been super loose. no matter how much i try to tighten it, it just loosens again. any suggestions for me?
honestly, it's not like it's a huge investment of time to film himself for 5-10 minutes
you should do a 6x6 solve slowed down a little because im just curious how its solved
*****
This is not Relevant whatsoever, but how old is Feliks?
He does 5x5x5, and just after that people are want MORE - they are hungry for MORE, and MORE - Not everyone have time, and desire for making videos.
feliks when your fingers are cold what do you do? can you solve that fast?(i mean normal fast) or you have to heat your fingers how you do that? thanks
3x3 OH example solves?
To the people that just do cubing once in a while (no speedcubers): How much did you understand the first time watching this?
It's called reduction. It is by far the most common method, but everyone has their own take on it. Just google "reduction method 5x5".
that moment when the video not have top comment... o.O wtf
Yay you finally released this vid :) How were your exams ?
what mods do you have done to your 5x5 it turns way better than mine i was thinking of moding mine but didnt know which mod to do
WtehF he did not even solve deh coob... he sucks! (I am clearly joking)
lol uploaded 2 days ago and so many comments already :D great job Feliks your pro as :D can you do some 1x1 example solves??
Thank you very much. I speak English not good. Thank you
Just pop out the middle caps and tighten it so it can pop out less
Thank you for idea of intuitive centers and edges. Certainly can bend normal logic in big cube solves that way :)
there is someone who knows what algorithms are used by feliks in the last 4 edges
say florian that mod your cube ! but the turn looks realy nice !
Do you have tutorial for 5x5x5 on how you do the centers and dedges?
I hope you could do one..
please share
Ive had my 5x5 for 12 days and ive gotten my time down to 7:50 and i wanted to know if thats a good time or not
Uh so it takes me 6 min i suck but my 3x3 pb is 15 seconds so thats good I guess
I know what methods feliks uses for his cubes 2x2 CLL 3x3 fredrich and he uses this method for 4x4 and up.
@Lapinsavant No... You don't use freestyle for centers... Duh.
this is when feliks was barely sub 1 and now hes like sub-50
Please make a quick tutorial for F2L on the 3x3 because when I try to learn nobody can explain it right!
i take the same time that you on making the centers, but i am so slow with the edges. what method it is?
Can you throw in some usefull coll or zbll algs?
After your WR 3x3x3 single have you stopped competing in that event? Do you think you can beat 5.66?
Wrong.
Awesome but I thought you are using your worldrecord cube?
you got some ridiculous skills, man...thanks for the vid.
well not tooooo tight though just make it about right.
This guy likes Chocolate Chip Muffins from Muffin Break
Cheers and thanks for this. Quite enjoyed your recent reddit AMA which is why I'm here!
actually centers are freestyle. edge pairing uses 2 parity algs, so its not freestyle.
Which cube do you think is better
Guhong or Zhanchi
could you please do a video on how you modify 3x3 algs for big cube last layer?
Can you please do another 3x3x3 example, and what new things you have learned
Hey Feliks, what would you say would be good time intervals to aim for (like centers, edges, 3x3) if I want to get a sub-2 minute? I've gotten really close, like 2:08, but I want to break that barrier. Thanks. :)
He uses a Florian modded ShengShou for the WR's
So... only 1 tutorial of freestyle, and its chinese.... we may need one :D
I use the same method but place the 4 white edges in the right position to have a cross skip in the 3x3.
THEIR CALLED TREDGES!!!!!!!!!! HOW DARE YOU MAKE SUCH A SIMPLE MISTAKE!!!
What's your 5x5 parity algorithm please? 9:41
where can i find your 5x5 parity algs from can u link me website please
