Brilliant watch,you're living the dream. Get those power lines moved by the electricity board and build your pond bigger? The lines are 11kv aswell by looks of it, so not a good idea to be waving 12ft carbon rods and line near them. Look forward to part 2 and more 👏👌🎣

I’ve been involved in fishery creation and the running of fisheries for almost 40 years. Your doing a fine job in the building of the lake. I just hope you put as much thought into stocking the water when the time comes. To ensure the health and sustainability of the fishery, and to also maximise your future income. There are important decisions you will have to make with regard to the stocking of the water. It’s not just a case of dropping fish in and away you go. Happy to make some suggestions if you would like me too.

@@Mangodown101 an electric fence around the perimeter to stop otters gaining acces to a free carp buffet
Only if you have otters near you,otherwise you’re spending thousands for nothing.
The main use of Taram is to stop silt and mud blocking all the holes in the drainage pipe, it acts like a filter 🤙🏻

On the off chance you’ve not started planting around the site yet, my advice is give it some serious thought first and if I could give you any tips it’d be stay away from invasive species that grow too quickly especially cherry Laurel. It grows so quickly it needs constantly cutting back & as it’s invasive it’s no good for any wildlife at all.
If you plant species that are indigenous like blackthorn, hawthorn, yew etc you’ll have all manner of butterflies, moths, bees & insects taking residence which in turn will attract countless songbirds & bats which will attract hawks, owls etc.
To put it into perspective, hawthorns have something like 150 insects that will use it\call it home whereas Laurel will just attract invasive species & problem species like weevils etc.

Set out a couple little cabins and rent them out over night . Charge a small fee for overnight camping or weekend rates. 😂
That’s what I’m doing. It’s called , Chain of lakes. I have 3 ponds . Quarter acre each. Well stocked .

The biggest problem with digging a lake is the banks leaking it took us three years to stop it leaking the soil was bad apparently we had to keep packing the side

I had this problem at work a small sink hole appeared and lost a load if water we took all the stock out took out 400 tone of clay found a sand vain got rid of that put 600 tone of blue clay in there and that solved it ..

You may still be able to get some type of government grant to help cover the cost of otter fence they definitely used too. But you will need a otter fence to protect your business

Probably not a good idea climbing on a step ladder on an 11 thousand volt electricity pole a metre or two more and there would of been a big bang pop 😂😂.

It should be perfect, most holiday venues that are larger lakes normally have multiple lodges. With this you will have over half an acre of water to yourself! 😃
Will you be doing one night stays at your lodge?
Unfortunately not everyone has the cash to build a carp lake they are very expensive. But yea that aside just get your self a 3 acre plot and build a lake lol.enjoyed the vid though👌(An other fence will save your fish from those creatures )
Otter fence has been built so hopefully that will save the fish, all recorded and will be in an upcoming episode 😄

Biggest problem is casting above the power lines and the otters taking the fish put up a fence
Fishing it only from one swim that can access the whole lake, unless you want to go stalking. That swim is the opposite side of the lake 😀
