I don't think Sky was extracted to make Orianna. In fact, I don't think Sky was there at all. My interpretation is that "Astral Sky" has always been a representation of Viktor's humanity, similar to how Jiminy Cricket is a representation of Pinocchio's morality. To Viktor, Sky represents the potential for love and hope, and at the same time grief and guilt for her passing. When Viktor first fully converts a follower, Astral Sky is visibly displeased; this is because Viktor feels guilt for knowingly taking away the humanity and individuality of a living person.
When Viktor commits to turning all of his followers into full automatons is when Astral Sky makes her exit. He claims he will miss their talks, but Astral Sky says "No, you won't." To rob the humanity of so many people, Viktor has to fully abandon his own humanity (or at least attempt to). Missing something requires a level of yearning, of love, of affection. By giving up his humanity, he will not be able to miss anything.
Would love to hear your thoughts on my take, @necrit !

What really puzzles me is the anomaly hammer that Jayce brought back with him on the original timeline, which came from the timeline where Viktor won and was held by a dead Jayce. But here's the thing, the dead Jayce holding the hammer technically is not the owner of the hammer, since he got that on a diff timeline as well, which gives me the question: who is the real owner of the hammer??and where did it came from?? Since Jayce diamantled his own hammer to use it as a brace for his broken leg. If you think about it, the origin of the hammer will forever be from a dead Jayce that is not his own, in an infinite loop. The hammer is PARADOX. 🤔😵‍💫🤯 ALSO SWAIN CROW FETCH SOMETHING FROM IT IN THE END ☠️

      @Sweetzluf หลายเดือนก่อน +179

Her betrayal never came out of nowhere for me, and it's 4 points in the story where Maddie is present that I felt something was off.
      1. She was too happy about Cait becoming commander and the martial law was introduced. Coincidentally, she was the only enforcer who seemed happy about it. People said she may just be young and naive, but I never bought that. She was still an enforcer at the end of the day.
      2. The bed scene with Cait. When Maddie was giving ''advice'' to Cait. I saw that as Maddie maybe could have used that in a way to gauge Caits loyalty to Ambessa for Ambessa. Why I thought that is because point 1.
      3. In episode 4 when Cait and Maddie are at Caits mothers statue, in the ending of that scene Maddie looks away from Cait. People said they believed it could have been a breakup between them beforehand (offscreen) that made Maddie look away like that. But when i look at Maddies eyes in that scene, I see ''guilt'' or ''anger'', not sadness.
      4. In episode 9, we can see that Maddie does flip with the bomb, not what she does exactly, but that she does something.
There may be more things that I missed. But these where times that made me suspect her.
Edit: Ambessa telling Vi in episode 6 about filling the void in Cait. That was Ambessa indirectly mentioning Maddie, so she was not talking about herself.

That makes more sense then his explanation, but it would be very out of character for Piltoverans to care more about the life of a Zaunite than a whole-ass residential building in Piltover.

On the other hand a child straight up died and was found in the arms of her little sister, so not only he was studying "Illegal" stuff, that stuff also caused a death, so it wouldn't sit right both with the council and at least personally, it woudln't sit right with jayce himself!

7:01 I don't think this is a universe where Viktor never gave the gem to Jayce and the Piltolver lab belonged to someone else. Remember that after the explosion in the original timeline, Jayce was put on trial for the potential dangers of his experiments but managed to get away and continue working on hextech. I think that in the alternate timeline Jayce’s trial resulted in a conviction because there a child got killed. This would explain why hextech never came to be, as it was definitively proven to be dangerous and everyone in the council, including Mel, rejected the idea.

Well I won't stop saying one thing:
The trio of Ekko, Heimer and Powder are insanely ingenious. The came up with time travel in such a short span while Viktor needed multiple timelines to figure out what rune will stop the hextech corruption. They had such an amazing development as well - Powder realizing her full potential, Heimer giving it his all without holding back and even going as far as sacrificing himself to help his dear student and timeline and finally Ekko choosing to return which resulted in him saving the world. Such a cool detail was that this final battle is in a sense a throwback to his champion trailer "Seconds". Viktor needed all the time in world to fix his mistakes but Ekko? He needed just seconds
Edit: I want to say that I got it wrong about the acceleration rune. Viktor discovered that it was the right one and gave it to Jayce so they together could invert the corruption. Although I still believe that Viktor did not account for Ekko. Runes are discovered, not created right? So the first rune being the "acceleration" rune helps Ekko only indirectly. He still could've chosen to stay there and Viktor could not have affected it in any way

6:53 In the alternate world, I thought the difference was that the explosion in Jayce's lab from the dropped gem killed Vi. The remaining kids got mild punishment due to being thieves (with the death of Vi causing the council to limit the harshness of that punishment), Jayce gets harshly punished for illegal experiments leading to a child's death, the disaster shines a light into the struggles of the under-city allowing peaceful resolution of the problems between piltover and zaun (explaining Silco's friendliness).
As for Vikor time travelling to hand out hexgems, I thought that he literally was trying every combination. He gave Jayce a gem in each reality, each with a different sigil, until one of them succeeded in saving the world.

Actually, Silco's friendliness comes from a different source. That job was what exposed Vander's kids to Silco's men, it's what starts Silco's movements against Vander. I think being a fan of the games helped you out. As somebody who doesn't really know the lore I felt like this season was rushed all to hell, and I still don't understand half of what happened. Singed can summon Warwick using his blood, which he does, until he doesn't, and then he needs to hunt Warwick down because... he apparently needs to plug him into Viktor? So he needed Warwick *and* an alien technology nobody had ever seen before the whole time? Mel goes Super Saiyan and then she's just immediately great at... something... which she then immediately uses to fight people in a war. Heimerdinger vanished because of something, something something, we needed a dramatic thing to happen at the end of the episode. Sevika doesn't get any dialog and the undercity just gets dropped completely in the final act, but they still show up at a dramatically appropriate time to help fight some army because Jayce managed to apparently convinced the entire city in a single conversation that the city was about to be attacked by some world-ending alien-army? Ekko something-something a plot device so he can do the thing he does in the game but then just throws it like a bomb, I guess, and it somehow 'disrupts' Viktor I guess, so Jayce can be like "Hey you told me to tell you to blow yourself up, I guess." And remember that dramatic speech at the end where Jayce was like, "Hey Viktor, I'm retconning your entire character into a guy who was just using hextech to 'fix weaknesses' in people but actually the beautiful thing to do is not fix people because there's beauty in imperfection." That was never Viktor's thing but I guess it has to be his thing for the cute speech they wrote to work?
I don't know. I wasn't won over. The action was great but the characters got virtually no dialog, everybody just did what they had to do to shuffle the plot along, and then League was the Avengers Endgame all along, I guess.

This. Act 3 left me so disappointed and it all felt like they wanted to make it as marvel as possible. ep7 is literally multiverse with ekko being miles and powder being gwen while ep 8-9 they just went full avengers endgame conveniently ending the struggles between Piltover & Zaun with the greater enemy trope so now we must unite and beat the bad guys. None of the important ''good'' guys dies since that's only for the bad guys.
The writers can't be the same between S1 and S2 lol.

    • @Koubles
      @Koubles 28 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

This is exactly how I felt. Season 1 broke the mold on what media based on a video game can be, and then season 2 stuffed itself right back into that box. The show became so focused on getting every game-character to their end state so that game fans can go "Omg that's the thing from the game". And lost the plot along the way. They kind of even destroyed Jinx's character they spent the entirety of season 1 building. At the end of the season she fully embraces villainy, commits the ultimate act of terrorism, kills her second father figure, all while Sting's "what could of been" plays in the background.
In season 2, Jinx is made de-facto symbol of the Lanes, which nobody in the narrative of S1 would ever accept, let alone sevika, and then she bumps into a random kid and all the trauma just goes away and she's good now. What!? I was very skeptical of season 2 when they obviously were cluing that they were going to bring Vander back to life as warwick, as I felt this decision would destroy the hours of perfectly crafted character development they gave to Vi and Jinx. And it did.
I feel like whoever was writing the dialogue was aware of these narrative holes too because even Vi herself states "I would never become an enforcer, they killed my parents" and then does so anyways without any narrative to make her change that decision other than getting drunk and presumably having an off-screen conversation with a side character. Then she states to jinx "Why would I ever believe Vander is still alive, you're just luring me into a trap." and then proceeds to follow her straight into the mines, when two episodes ago she was fully set on killing her sister and was hunting her down.
The show just glazes over hours of character development for the sake of pushing the story into a grandiose avengers style ending where they "save the multiverse". And as a side note, I'm really tired of "save the world/multiverse" plotlines. When the stakes get so high, especially that quickly, I find that as a viewer the stakes couldn't be lower, and I care less about the characters problems. Firstly, because when the stakes get that high, you know they can't fail and that nobody important is going to die. And secondly, there's absolutely no narrative that allows me as the audience to empathize with characters struggles because it all goes so fast and the audience loses context and time spent with its characters to fully understand and empathize with their grievances.
There's a reason most of the viewers thought S2 episode 7 was their favorite of the season. And it's not because of the time-line travel sub plot.

One scene that was short but very powerful was Cait and Jinx interacting in the prison. First time they had an one on one and the way Cait says "good deeds can't undo OUR crimes" was really so expressive for both of their arcs - condemning Jinx and herself for their actions but also letting go of the hatred and moving forward.

    • @catdad626
      @catdad626 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

it was a good forgiveness arc, but I did not like that Cait echoed the common perception that redemption is not possible. Basically a barrier to true forgiveness in my eyes. How does one move on from crimes if not with reparations? With connection and understanding? Sequester and forget is antisocial. The hurt and spurned misbehaving child just wants to be loved and accepted, not punished. That is the core of every human that lashes out (not sociopaths who hurt for the enjoyment or sake of it). Anyway, when I heard Cait say her line there of "good deeds can't undo our crimes" I both sighed for her not being ready to grow and forgive but also perhaps Cait felt a bit unworthy of forgiveness herself, considering her awareness of the atrocities she had committed with the mantle of authority. A great scene, and perhaps showing why true forgiveness is so hard: not just because of what others do to us, but because of what we do to others that makes us feel unworthy of forgiveness, that shame.

Him being half human and wolf made sense and was really executed in act 2, and in act 3 they had the perfect setup to make him go full wolf, with the scene of Isha blowing up everything and "killing" ww (which would tie up with the whole deal of death being the ultimate catalyst for is final form), and especially with the scene of Vander's burning memories. Keeping him half human to the end honestly served 0 purpose and making him go full wolf would not only serve better to convey the idea that Vander is gone but also pay better respect to the character's history.

I loved the Season 1 Viktor, he was relatable and a character with a very moving story that set up the his broken psyke. However, I was already attached with the mechanical version of Viktor that used his ingenuity to pursue the glorious evolution. Viktor's tapping into the arcane to become quasi-celestial and pursuing the glorious evolution that way felt like some kind of cheat for the character, I feel it undermined the setup on his character in Season 1 and his drive to solve problems becoming a self made messiah for the desperate.

Instead of just blowing up and damaging Viktor, it actually seemed like it "Rewound" the part of Viktor that it came in contact with (The same way it rewinds Ekko) and since it hit him in the head, it gave him back some of his emotions, returning some part of Viktor to before the "process".
It doesn't mean much but if its what it's meant to be I thought it was a nice twist instead of it just being damage that shook Viktor free of his apathy or whatever.

this this this, I feel like Ekko pushing the Zdrive past its limit is supposed to be extremely significant, not just in the way that it could have brought back the part of Viktor that had not had his humanity destroyed by Singed merging Viktor with Warwick, but it could even have a huge implication for this "from the future" version of Viktor that we see trying to influence Jayce.
In the same way that we see different Powders and Vanders in the other universes, I think the Viktor that went back in time to save Jayce was from a timeline where Viktor does not lose his humanity in the process of pursuing the Glorious Evolution (I feel like this is further confirmed by us now getting an "Arcane Savior" Viktor skin now, contrasting the base Viktor who has his body deformed while losing his humanity).
So this very significant moment of Ekko maxing out the Z-Drive and blasting Viktor with it could have been the moment (similar to Ekko and Jayce and Heimer) where this point in time is scattered across the multiverses, prompting a different version of Viktor to manipulate the timeline in such a way that Base-Viktor's humanity is restored and he is allowed to see the sheer desolation caused by his actions.

That veil around him might be the beast being put in place by viktors powers to also protect him. It makes kinda sense that the z-drive would be able to damage the beast if the power of the arcane is able to control it.

Episode 7 is the best to me, both seasons. It's the only one that's slow, takes it time and shows us both what could have been and what could be, and that's the theme of season 1 and season 2. The Ekko and Jinx moments are amazing, especially considering you have a French song there from one of if not the best French speaking songwriter (Stromae, who's pretty much retired btw), with amazing lyrics. And switching from those genuine moments of joy to Jayce's survival and vision of the future.
You could even go really far and say that the "what could have been" scenes are the shimmer that we, as viewers, get addicted to, because we only want to see this, and not the alternate reality of Jayce that make up the rest of the episode.

There was no post Isha dialogue. Also, romance in a jail cell instead of running after your emotionally destroyed sister? It needed so much more time to explore everyone's individual story. This whole thing makes me think about what happened with Evelynn, Kayle, Akali, but in these they still maintained a similar design idea, Now a Swain, an Irelia and a Yorick, they changed so much that if you get the champion before the rework you don't even recognize it .

We still got great moments between characters during and around the big battle even if some things did not make sense. Based.
They said they wanted to respectfully tell the origin story of these characters. Instead, what they really do is strongarm them to fit a narrative that is too big for and incongruent with their characters.
All those mounting tensions between the cities that are brewing in Season 1 culminate in one small-scale Piltovan operation into Zaun that is quickly resolved in Season 2. Then its suddenly a big Marvel showdown where all the characters make their cool entrances each in turn to save another character. The main character's heroic sacrifice is a fakeout and the solution to stopping the villain is talking him out of it.
The Noxian legion simply vanishes when their leader has been killed. The two cities are reconciled and the defacto leader of the undercity joins the Piltovan council despite having been a champion for Zaunite independence.
Perhaps I simply got the wrong impression from Season 1 when it came to what this show is about, but Season 2 blows things out of proportion for no explicable reason. I'm not saying Season 2 was bad, but it was difficult to appreciate as a continuation from Season 1.
I'd give it a 7/10 for its fantastic visuals.

This. the ENTIRETY of season 1 as well as S2 Act 1 and a good portion of Act 2 were completely and entirely focused on Piltover v. Zaun being the main conflict of the series told through the context of Jinx and Vi’s relationship.
It really got thrown to the side after the Warwick stuff which while I didn’t hate on its own, was definitely the turning point for sidelining the original story. If Season 2 had one more act they could have wrapped up everything they did as well as Piltover v Zaun is a much more satisfying manner.
I think making Act 3 focus on Jinx channeling the grief of Isha’s death, as well as Ekko and his experience in the AU into revolutionary energy to become the symbol of Zaunite independence that Isha viewed her as would give her as well as Isha’s story a much better conclusion, as well as also having it make more sense for the cities to work together to fight victor & noxus in the hypothetical act 4 if there was a whole revolution arc where Zaun gains independence and Piltover actually does some work to restore their relationships.
im no writer but thats my two cents on how they couldve more succinctly wrapped up these stories if they had more time.

I had a long conversation with a friend who doesn't know anything about league or its lore and from his perspective (and mine too i guess) ambessa was a big letdown. she really didn't live up to the level that silco did as a villain. The story of Arcane could have been very similar without her and Noxus interfering. There were other ways for Caitlin to go down the path she did and Ambessa getting a legendary skin on release, a music video, a book and so much hype really felt strange. they didn't need to have noxus as this common enemy for piltover and zaun to fight against together because they already had Viktor for that. A lot of the bloat from the season came from ambessa and removing her would have given them more time to flesh out other character's arcs and making the feeling that the story was a little rush a bit less. I get that she was a setup for another series set in Noxus but from the perspective of my friend who doesn't know the lore at all the story would have been much better if it really was about the twin cities and contained to them. The infrastructure for oppressing zaun existed long before the noxians arrived and all things considered I really think ambessa was one of the weaker parts of the story. (would love to hear other people's opinions though)

    • @banditbrah
      @banditbrah หลายเดือนก่อน +6

Two seasons were simply not enough to fully flesh out the story. Lots of gaps in the Ambessa plot. Unless i've missed something Ambessa was not acting in the interest of Noxus, but instead was trying to aquire Hextech to use against them. Did they ever even reveal what it was Ambessa stole that is essential to the whole black rose plot even existing? I can only assume it is the Kaenic Rookern, as right after the "What you've stolen, is more precious than any gold" line the scene focuses on Rictus touching the Rookern on his Axe.
Ambessa is portrayed as a master manipulator and yet she led the Black Rose directly to Mel when the entire reason she sent her to Piltover in the first place was to hide her from them. She then decides to ally with Viktor after seeing how ridiculously powerful he has become, as though she would be able to control him. Even if the Rookern protected her she would have no influence at all over his actions. The last act undid a lot of her charachter development.
I love how the Silco power vacuum was handled with Chem-Barons fighting for control, they could have easily done an entire second and even third season based around this with more Piltover and Zaun conflict. Include Blitzcrank's creation by Viktor, Zak's creation by one of the Chem-Barons, Dr Mundo, Urgot? It's really criminal to leave Camille out of the show in my opinion, no pun intended.
The only real Piltover and Zaun development besides the obvious (Warwick) was a couple of Janna cameos and one second of Oriana after countless Singed pocketwatch scenes.
I don't blame the writers / creators, i'm sure given the budget for more episodes / seasons they would have explored a lot of these themes.
The only thing I slightly disagree with you is the Noxus setup, as there is such a massive non-league viewership, it probably helps having some familiarity for them in a new show and will help with audience retention. Given the massive success of the show I do understand your point that it's not really necessary and actually agree but I can understand why they chose to go that route as they wouldn't know that at the time of writing the script.

@@banditbrahI do understand they can link the two regions by having a better forefront role of ambessa, but the way ambessa act 3 is not good. They are looking for success in the future disregarsing the present.
Ambessa in act 3 is just plain confusing, she just acts so out of character and have a very poor job at making clear character motivations.
For example why is she having an 'hoborable duel' vs cait and ambessa while her soldiers stands and do nothinng even when she loses, she is not about honor never was and also fails to represent Noxus principles at act 3.
And Im completely confused on her character motivations.

7:07 Counter theory: In the blast both Vi and Jayce were caught. Jayce never shares the dream of hextech with Viktor.

If your theory is right and Jayce also died in the explosion: then the police have no reason to believe the Zaun kids are thieves.
Jayce had been making trips to the undercity; so as far as the police know these kids were invited to the lab. The gems may not have been confiscated in this case because the police literally would not know that they were the cause of the explosion: meaning they'd be returned to Powder.
In the standard cannon, the police give chase because the kids run, and Jayce later confirms to the police that they are thieves. No run + no Jayce = no thieves (from the police perspective)

Something that no one is talking about is the fact that in my view, Ambessa managed to do what she wanted, she turned Mel into a wolf and the new leader of her family which makes her die with a smile and in peace because she knows that Mell is now powerful enough to keep herself safe, I always saw them as the relationship between the wolf and the lamb with MEL being the lamb and Ambessa the wolf but after the fight between them the lamb turned into the wolf which was the goal of Ambessa since always educating her daughter to be .
And also the fact that Siged achieved everything he wanted, winning death for his daughter, making her immortal.
For me, this series was about "love" and "family", if you think about it, a mother managed to educate her daughter and protect her from evil that she didn't even imagine existed, and a father managed to save his daughter from imminent death.
    Ambessa as mother
and Siged as a father were the winners at the end of this series and Hemmendinger as a teacher who loves his students also sacrificed knowing that Echo was the disciple he always sought to find which gave meaning to his life and joy.

One episode he's all "I will not sacrifice his humanity for your cause", but after Jayce chest-blasts him, he's suddenly all fine with dooming the entire world? hello? what? the same Viktor from season 1 who would rather let himself die than let the hexcore continue to exist, potentially harming others? THAT Viktor?
It is also never explained to us in any meaningfull way what the footsteps in episode 1 were, or why it was Sky that almost urged Viktor on to infect others with the Arcane. The theories that said that Viktor was semi-mind controlled by the hexcore/arcane, and that Sky was the semi-physical manifestation of that control, were amazing! they explained why Viktor was weirdly un-emotional, what the footsteps were, explained the visual and audio hallucinations, and explained why this man who was TERRIFIED of the hexcore suddenly wanted to spread its power. But, nope. he's just an all-powerfull bad guy now bc, uhm, "we must be one mind, choice is false". Truly have no idea how they ended up there, but alright

No, it is not the same viktor from season 1, clearly. After he was fused with the hexcore he obviously changed, got corrupted by it, more and more as time went on.
Skye probably was the reason why the hexcore didnt immediately turn Viktor in a complete maniac, she was still there keeping himself company, absorbed into the hexcore. When Jayce shot him, something changed, he realized that reaching his goal, "helping" the people, would not be possible in a peaceful way, because people like Jayce would try to stop him. Which is where he started considering accepting Singed's offer of combining him and warwick, an extremer method of reaching the glorious evolution him/the hexcore wanted to achieve.
In fact, he was still trying to convince to work together with Jayce instead of fully committing to Singed's idea, thats why he send one of the puppets to talk to him. Once he realized Jayce wouldnt, he fully commited. He accepted sactificing the only thing keeping his humanity and peace, Skye, who knew it was wrong... before she disappears she basically tells Viktor that this is wrong.
Once she is gone, he completely obsesses over doing everything possible to reach his goal of the glorious evolution, by any means required.
My only personal issue with this is that why future Viktor didn't give Jayce better instructions on how to stop Viktor in that world, he must have known Jayce only shooting him once wouldnt be enough to stop him. But maybe its a whole thing of not being able to interfere too much or causing an even worse result etc.
EDIT: Never mind on my personal issue... future viktor knew, the only way to really stop it, was Jayce and Viktor having the conversation like they ended up having.

S2 is paced faster because we no longer have to work through each characters backstory and motivations now. Viktor basically died twice already. Once to jinx and then to jayce. Which most definitely would fuck him up being killed by his partner, who put him in the hexcore in the first place.
For all intents and purposes I don't see why people think Viktor was malicious or being controlled prior to E7.
Did we forget about his talk with singed? and his defense that Vander was a man and not an experiment. Viktor wanted to stop conflict but at this point everyone submitted willingly to be cured, both physically and most likely removed of their negative emotions.
Then boom, jayce "betrays" him, Vander kills Rictor and a small war breaks out in his peaceful commune. Isha, a kid, fucking dies as a result of the whole thing.
From S1 to S2, "You were right doctor, I understand now." If anything it is singed that altered Viktors perspective on himself and his goals so damn much from the very beginning.
The path to hell is laid with good intentions

@@snorr656 i do understand how you take it and thats also 100% valid and i wish i could interpret it the same, but i believe the show was still way too open-for-intepretation with very important aspects of Viktor's arc - in a way that, sorry, season 1 would never be.
Yes, after waking up from the Goop^tm he clearly is different. it is as if he is sleepwalking. he walks to the undercity in almost a trance, and sees footsteps leading him to the place of his latter commune. Here, he 'heals' Huck, and we see him hallucinating Sky as she smiles down on him proudly.
Except.. Why would Sky be proud of Viktor for spreading the Hexcore/Arcane, when it is the thing that killed her? And why would Viktor, were he fully himself here (as Jayce in e9 does impy), want to spread the power of the thing he was previously so terrified of to the extent that he would rather let himself die than use it again? And what were those footsteps? Was the hexcore making him hallucinate Sky and those footsteps after all?
Except... if that were the case, again, why does e9 imply it was all his own doing? and why is it never confirmed in canon he was influenced/lead on by the hexcore - which is such an important aspect of his arc were it the case, because a) doing everything out of his own will, and b) being influenced to do stuff, both imply SUCH different things about everything he has done.
Back to: if he were still himself here (conviction wise), there is nothing that can make me believe that "there is always a choice", "we're scientists, not soldiers!", "in the pursuit of great, we failed to do good", and more lines along these, would suddenly turn all radical 'one mind one people is the solution' with only 'jayce tried to kill me' as his reasoning.
And with the future Viktor thing: i do agree that might be the case. in e9 (beginning) we see Viktor smile down at Jayce, while in e6 (end) he looks scared, bc Jayce is abt to shoot him. My guess is that the smiling-vision is the vision that Mage Viktor [which i still despise as a plot, but that aside] showed Jayce, aka that was what happened in mage viktor's universe, and it clearly didnt work out, so he told Jayce to just go for the kill - except, we again never get told that. There are so many ways to interpret the scenes, and as nothing is made canon in the show about it, it will always, forever be a fan theory. these things are of such importance a show NEEDS to tell us, not leave it completely open.
in s1, it was always clear why a character did something, or got to a new point in their arc. in season 2 its guess work most of the time.

Watching Mel go from not knowing she has powers to being able to use it to ricochet a bullet into a headshot off screen. Ekko convincing Jinx to actually be a hero also happens off screen. What exactly happened to Heimer before Ekko got there? I would assume he would've seen that world as a world where he supported Jayce even if that wasn't exactly the truth. Also, it really doesn't make sense to me that Ambessa sees what Viktor can do and doesn't see it as a threat if left to grow. Maybe it could've made sense if they even had a small scene where it was brought up and since they didn't it just makes her look stupid and full of her self.
Also Viktor going full hivemind felt a bit too extreme of a leap, I can't imagine someone as smart as him can't see what that would bring in the end without having to go full timeloop/multiverse. Maybe if instead of Jayce just blasting him when he first came back he first tried talking to him and they got into an argument first they could've made it seem like a gradual decent into "I'll do it myself" syndrome, Instead of going from wanting to destroy the hexcore to enslave all of mankind in a hive mind in less then 10 minutes of Viktor scenes.

Do you have insight into whether there will be future Ekko media? He was the absolute GOAT in Season 2, elevated above and beyond and I think he's one of the characters that would truly be worth seeing in further media, what with having an actual positive hero arc.

The Firelights were my favorite "gang" in the entire show. Their music scenes, the way they enter a fight, their style, their swagger, everything is fucking S tier.

Look imma heavily disagree with your intro already. The pace was ATROCIOUS. Especially the last 2 acts were the most rushed episodes I have ever seen from any series I‘ve watched. (Maybe GOTS7/8 were that rushed aswell, but they obviously had a lot more problems.) It felt like a 'we gotta rush through this all to finish it now' and therefore lost a lot of its soul it had in S1. I‘m not saying all of the soul was lost, S2 had a lot of very emotional scenes(E7 was incredible), but it cannot compare to S1 at all.
The series was beautiful, had very emotional scenes. I also heavily disagree with A LOT CL said. If you’re aware of the issues, then how do you not fix them beforehand? I get it, they worked over 10years on this story and wanted to finish it off to get to other shows, but season 2 suffered heavily.
It feels like a completely different show than Season 1. Especially the last act.

I just cannot be mad or sad or whatever about the stuff we didnt get when every single second of this 12 hour long show is made with so much care, thought and passion. There really just isn't a single wasted moment in this show, every frame is a painting you could hang on your wall, every arc has atleast one of those moments that blows up the internet, you have all those ambitious original music pieces switching with a beautiful background instrumental score, even small characters are so respectfully handled in the few scenes that they get and the sheer emotional impact this story has is on the very apex of tv shows. This IS a 10/10 for me.

I'm pretty sure that's what kinda hurt the second season. The first was written with probably more freedom.

Imma say it, the guy who necrit was referring to at the beginning is a Pr trained yapper. They will just gloss over the lore of the characters that they changed and hope that people forget, the ending was rushed and the finale was a massive let down for what could and should have been something much more amazing and enjoyable. In the end It just left me dissatisfied and makes me question how much time they had to create season 2 compared to season 1
