Lovely fish, the way their ventral fins flash iridescence here and there is so pretty! Happy for you that you've finally got them. I hope they do really well and happy 2025 to you! 🙂👍🎊
Wow Paul I have to say I couldn’t see the attraction in Altums until today in my lfs They are beautiful those bars are spectacular on them he had two left probably 3” bodies bought big and wild definitely on my must try next year list
Thank you so much for the shout-out. Leo was so happy to hear his name. He was very surprised and said "he said my name" 😊😊😊 Great fish and those tanks are looking fantastic.
Finally got to drive up to Urmston aquatic's friday. Cant say i was blown away tbh but that main display tank is pretty epic tbf. Nice addition's to your fish room tho Paul. Altum angels are beautiful😍
Congratulations on getting the fish of your dreams Paul. I didn't realise you were buying on Saturday when you were in. Im sure you will do fantastically with them. Have a great new year, kindest regards, Jo 🐺 🕷
Great video as always, I went to urmston aquatics yesterday and spoke to spud briefly, great lad. I was gutted to see the balzini geos with sold sign on. Always fancied a grown pair like those 🥲
I had 6 wild caught Altums (about 7 inches top to bottom) for just over a year until my mate made me an offer for them all that I couldn't refuse. They were as hardy as any tank bred Scalare and never had any trouble, they were kept in normal dechlorinated water (my natural ph is 7.0) and they ate every type of fish food that was thrown in!
G'day Leo! Can't wait to hear Spud talking about that tank Paul. Seriously, I can't. In fact instead of reading this you should be filming it NOW!!!. So jealous about those Altums...
The large Oscar you saw at the fish store was called a bumblebee Oscar. They look almost identical to the tiger Oscars but they are totally different. The bumblebee Oscar is an extremely rare Oscar. A lot of people either don’t know about them or never heard of them.
I have kept Bumblebee Oscars a few times my favourite Oscars I found them more aggressive than the normal Oscars but yes beautiful Oscars I have vids on my channel about them, cheers mate
Yes Paul Good nan glad you got them I got some from Ste at Wirral aquatics 3 weeks ago they’re cool fish and grow quick Behave like any other angel food wise but just look epic
Cheers mate appreciate it I stopped scaping my tanks mate can't be arsed with it all 😂 I have kept fish for 34 years learned a lot along the way from some epic fishkeepers
@marcflynn254 Yes that's the beauty of the hobby isn't it each to their own, suppose it's what works best at the time, may go back to adding wood and plants again at some point, got a shit load of wood out back as well
Beautiful fish. Had a pair many years ago from WoW in Timperley although I didn't know what they were other than them being wild at the time. I think I paid £25 for them then let them go for free when I had to move 😮 would love to have them again one day
Great video as always Paul. If ever see any Mudskippers on your travels could you let me know? Been trying to get hold of some for over 12months with no joy
As if I didn’t know that you were getting Altum Angels😅. And yes that True Parrot was magnificent 💐. Great pickup Paul. The Altums I have are f1, f1s are easy bruh. You will do fine I’m sure. Do contact Sheller Aquatics and order some food. His food is phenomenal. Let him know that you are a TH-camr and a friend of mine and I promise that he will show you big love.
If they are F1 don’t worry to much very hardy don’t worry to much about PH just keep them in the 30c ….. feed heavy and keep water charging to grow them out
Got to visit this one when I’m going properly again, that true parrot is a beaut. Miss my old pair. Great video Paul
Cheers mate yes well worth a visit
