I’d like to share something with you to make you understand how important your vlogs are to me, since you mentioned being a little discouraged by some commenters. I’m battling a life-threatening heart condition, and I don’t know how much longer I’ll be alive unless I have open heart surgery. I started making candles as part of my therapy to help ease my mind, because as you can imagine, knowing you’re in danger of dying really messes with your mind. My goal is to try and make my fledgling candle business successful enough that I can leave it to my young kids, so at least if the worst comes to pass I can die knowing I left them with something to help them through life. I listen to your videos when I’m driving to work, then again when I’m driving home. At night while I’m lying in bed I watch them again. Watching your journey with your husband, the passion you have for it and each other, brings me inner peace and gives me a sense that there is still good in the world. There are still dreams that can be fulfilled, and there will be moments of happiness for people even after I’m gone. Your videos do that for me. They give me hope. If (hopefully WHEN) I have my surgery, I want to believe that I can come back from it and approach life with a new drive, a new purpose, and be as happy as you seem to be in your vlogs. Please don’t be discouraged by the critics, because you are helping me through the hardest time of my life. You are making a difference to ME.

Hi Bill 🙂 I am genuinely so sorry to hear that you are going through all this. I have to say I feel so humbled that you have shared this with me. Whilst I can’t say I know how you feel first hand, I wanted to say that I lost my Dad many years ago now but he was terminally ill with a brain tumour for over 10 years before he passed and I know what toll that took on his mental health - almost as much as physical. When I started this channel I really didn’t know if the videos and particularly vlogs would be that interesting to other people. The fact you are finding them motivating through such a tough time actually makes everything SO worth while and any negative or critical comments literally seem so insignificant in comparison to this (they were anyway I guess!). I’ll admit I had a wee cry whilst reading this for the first time earlier today but I’ve not been able to stop thinking about it, and wanted to give it the time it needed to reply properly. Definitely hats off to you both, it's been mad the past weeks and you have both done so great to stay on top of it. The vlogs are an amazing extra little sprinkle of joy, but they are just extra, that you choose to do out of your own time. At the end of the day it's the products that we love the most and if the videos are slowing down production - i know I don't speak for myself when I say I don't mind a video late or less videos or no video at all that week if it's been as crazy as it has been. You are always transparent and honest and it's very endearing. Hoping to make another order soon, I feel like it's been ages💛🌿

I'm a new subscriber and it upsets me to see that people are being dicks to you. You are a freaking business owner owning it and just know that if these people have the time and energy to say negative things to you, it speaks more of how their lives are the opposite. They aren't using that energy on building up themselves and their businesses. Whatever they say, just turn it back on them, because that's what they're really talking about, how they lack. You are doing amazing things. I have wanted to come to Scotland for years, as I have ancestry there, and it just calls to my heart. Así have told you before I have been following you since video #1, I have seen all your videos , I found them very helpful specially the ones with Information related to the candle business, tips etc… ( and believe me, I think it’s not a single channel related to candles that I have not watch, your videos are one of the best ). I just wanted to recommend you, to do not get so overwhelmed and absorbed by the channel, do the best that you can but make the things easier for you, it’s very difficult to keep with production in your business and the channel, make it simple and short ( even I will suffer because I am also desperate waiting to watch them, and waiting for your video on clp labels😉). I think your video blogs can be shorter, depending of the activity during the week and I think you should focus more in the videos with tips (I think they can be short and easier to be edited) . Topics or ideas that I can recommend you are: -tips for the craft fair (check list , your experience , did you forget something , do you think you should have done something different ? - tips on how to approach a retailer , how to negotiate, are you sending them samples ? etc . I can continue with an endless list of questions … I can help you when you are out of inspiration 😊. I think every single question could be the topic of one of your video tips .. 😉. You know I am a manufacturing engineer and have been making candles for many years as a hobby, because more than an engineer my soul and heart is in arts & crafts, but since I live now in Europe in a country with a totally different language and struggling to find a job in my area of experience, I want to start formally my candle business but I am learning almost from scratch with container candles, new suppliers , new materials , new market and a totally new way of making business than in my country in Latin America ( if you need some advise fir manufacturing advise just contact me).
