The best gig I have ever been to. Freddy just grabbed the audience and didn't let go for the best part of 2 and a half hours until he left the stage, he was unique.
I can tell you how it felt to be there - incredible. The man had so much presence. And it's amazing how much noise 70 or 80,000 people can make all singing together. To this day, the most unbelievable high ever.
If someone wants to have a similarly intense experience, I would recommend a Blind Guardian concert, particularly Valhalla usually has a fantastic audience participation. Or their "The Bard's Tale". Of course I mean visiting a concert, not the TH-cam stuff (like th-cam.com/video/CZ_VFJn2kJM/w-d-xo.html - it's nice to watch, but nothing can replace the live experience). Completely different style of music, but if you can do something with Power Metal, you'll have fun.

Susan Jones yes I love that! It drives me crazy seeing people today at concerts who are watching it through their phones. I get that maybe they want to record it but they're missing out on the whole experience. I'm so happy that I didn't have those distractions when I was younger and seeing my favorite bands
Fantastic Susan but I don't know any different as I am 64 and my first Concert was Curved Air at The Royal Festival Hall,South Bank 1971. By 1973 I paid 25 PENCE to see Deep Purple at The Royal Albert Hall and Creedence Clearwater Revival there the next week. Admittedly up in "The Gods". Then came the world's biggest group=Led Zeppelin @ Wembley Arena in '73 which cost an outrageous 75 PENCE followed by Pink Floyd debuting Dark Side Of The Moon @ Earls Court for under £1. Longgggggggg b4 phones etc :)

The stage uses up part of the seating at one end of the stadium, so it isn't capacity plus those on the field. Also, this is old Wembley stadium, not the new one. Only the new one can hold 100k. The old one was smaller

I was at this gig as a 13 year old lad, I remember more about this day than I've forgotten in the fragmentary 30 odd years since! I love that the younger generation love Queens impact even now. Great video Steven.

Its brilliant seeing a younger audience to beautiful Queen and the audience participation - you know why it was so good? - apart from the talent that is Queen who were always phenominal live - saw them many times - its the lack of mobile phones - nobody had them then so paid attention to the actual music and performance - I hope younger people see this x

My very first concert was Queen...at the Forum in LA...1982. No concert has ever compared. When the movie came out and my teenage girls got into Queen...yeah...made me a little cooler in their eyes that I got to see them at their best. Freddie made you feel like he knew you were there. just found out you haven't seen the Live Aid concert. It's 20 minute of the best performing by all 4 you will ever see. Try to find the "complete" concert with a short song at the end. The do their set, then at the end of the concert were asked to sing this beautiful song to finish it all.
The members of the group then went to get pizza for lunch and when they came back to the studio, he completely forgot it! Thankfully he already showed it to the drummer who didn't forget it!

I can tell you what it felt like! It was magic! A fantastic day. There had been quite a few bands before Queen lasting all day. Queen was the last act. Dire Straits I think was before them (excuse an old man's memory!). That's why he threw his water over the crowd. The people in front had been there all day practically! I was originally in the middle of that but had to go to the loo and when I returned was at the back. Bad gig management. Still, got a better view!

I can tell you what it felt like! It was magic! A fantastic day. There had been quite a few bands before Queen lasting all day. Queen was the last act. Dire Straits I think was before them (excuse an old man's memory!). That's why he threw his water over the crowd. The people in front had been there all day practically! I was originally in the middle of that but had to go to the loo and when I returned was at the back. Bad gig management. Still, got a better view!
