Glad to see the new mgsd kits are using proportions closer to the sdcs kits , I kinda like sd kits but always wished they had more parts, better part separation, less stickers etc and it seems like the mgsd line is checking those boxes
Looking at those clear eye cameras, It really do remind of headlights of an automobile or a safety-reflectors (for bikes, signals etc) 😁😁 Another great idea to imagine is a Clear yellow/gold assembled into chrome layered part for the main golden armor just like the Shiny Gold type mobile suits (Hyaku Shiki, Akatsuki, Phenex etc)
I just started with Gunpla with the first one being the RG Mark II AEUG. Which I really enjoyed building and playing around with. Was looking around what would be a nice to build as the 2nd kit. For a while I was considering either the RG Wing (TV ver), RG Sazabi or the RG Hi-V. Than I found out about this MGSD Freedom from this video as well others Gunpla reviewers. I just picked up this kit as my 2nd kit and ow boy ... what a fantastic kit! Really cannot wait for them to release the MGSD Barbatos. This model kit looks very much like the Freedom Gundam in SD Gundam Battle Alliance.
after playing alot of sd gundam battle alliance i came to like the sd line alot more and just as i was finishing the game this model kit was announced and i just managed to build it today it honestly doesnt disapoint but it is something u have to like to appraciate it as i know some ppl are not fan of sd but if u can look past that it is still a good kit to build cant wait for the barbatos mgsd to come out
I custom built a model like this years ago, with an SD and a HG, it was tough. I love the look tho and doesn’t take up a ton of space. Looks like they really wanted to make something special.
To be fair it’s a smaller and less heavy kit. To me, it makes sense why there Mg Sinanju isn’t the most flexible kit in the world when compared to RG God or this kit. If you put too many joints into a giant MS like Sinanju or Sazabi, it’ll be less solid and prone to fall apart from the weight.
I like the proportions. If anything I'd say add another millimeter or two on the calves, but that's not a big deal. I'm excited to try this kit out when I get back into Gunpla. It looks like a more fulfilling kit than the Freedom 2.0.. I really didn't like the SEED 2.0 MGs. I want to see SDMG for some less common Gundams. Instead of checking off every usual suspect like RX78, Unicorn, Stike, Strike Freedom, Sazabi, Wing, ect.. I want them to do some others, like Exia/00/Quan[T], Lupus, Aerial (after MG Aerial and MG G-Self), and some weirder stuff.
19:17 even though i was introduced to gundam with wing, it was seed that made me a gundam fan. and im gonna be honest, to me the freedom is all i wanted in a MS design, it looks both extremely complex, and extremely simple, it looks both gentle and threatening, and above all it looks really sleek and agile, but also powerfull. in many ways, i pair it with the sazabi as my all time favorite MS designs. and its funny because i feel like the strike freedom is kinda like the gundam version of the sazabi(minus the obvious bulk of course).
Just want to point out that the Strike Freedom is the ZGMF-X20A. This Freedom Gundam is the ZGMF-X10A. Not quite the same mobile suit. I too always mixed up these 2 Gundams, until I picked up this kit myself.
@@NexuJin im not confusing them. i compared the strike freedom with the sazabi. not the original freedom. also while they are similar, their wings are completely diferent. as a side note, i favor the design of the original freedom more, even though i love the idea of the wing dragoons.
I love the looks. Wasn't sold until your Livestream. I think the hands are a little too out of place and the rail guns aren't very sleek. But still looks great.
Makes me wonder if the difference between Bandai naming it "RGSD" or "MGSD" comes down to them thinking consumers will accept paying more for the MG branding...
I really enjoyed the whole building process. They really managed to put mg in an sd. And I love it! But the sticker decals are pretty bad. Just put delpi decals on it and you're good. But it takes forever to apply them all tho 😅
I am probably in the minority here, but I don't like this SD. All of the praise given is well-deserved, and as a kit by itself it is really well done. Well, except for one thing - scale. With this being the same height as an HG, this is out of scale with other SD Line. This is a big letdown for me because I like my line scaled well together At least with SDCS and SDEX it can be scaled together. Both of those lines can even be paired with NXEdge. However, this seems like it doesn't have a place in an SD display aside from maybe a centerpiece. I think that SDCS is the best SD line. While it does need some touch up, at least you can pair them with other SD. I wish that Bandai would revive that line. I want an SDCS Aerial with a functional bit staves/shield.
I was blown away with how complex the build was as i built it, and the finished product was MUCH larger than i anticipated it being. The wings are a sight to behold and all of intricacies of the various gimmicks and details are just insane. Honestly feels like I am cheating on my Barbatos when I look at it, Freedom gives it a run for its money
Sticker decals, ewww. I hope Bandai just includes waterslide decals going forward with all their RG, MG. Awesome kit, not sure when I will get mine, hopefully soon. I would love a Sazabi MGSD next, lol.
I preordered this kit from hobby link japan and they still havent fufilled it. I really wanted to build it. Im from a third world country so its one of the only places that ships to me. PAIN
The SD kits were cheap, easy to assemble, but usually ugly as sin and plastered with stickers. The MGSD kit looks like it gives us that super deformed form factor with the build of an MG. Shame the price is a bit higher, but looks like its worth picking up anyway.
They gutted MG with once-per-year releases and P-Bandai hell, and then they think branding this as MGSD is a good idea? The MG brand is Bandai's neglected child, tacking on the MG name to this makes me as a consumer feel like it's a line that will be dropped by Bandai. Plus it risks earning my resentment that its development might hurt 1/100 MG release schedule even more for such a niche novelty
The proportion's not what I expected out of an SD but it's closer to the proportions in the more recent Super Robot Wars games, which I appreciate.
Where did you learn to comment on Gunpla videos?
@biaza what? No learing required.

The selling point of this line for me is with the eyes of the Gundam. I love how detailed it is.
Like this MGSD line-up hope bandai will make more models and version of this MGSD line-up
It's really good, I'd love a knight or a command gundam
I love the kit's proportions. Hope they make more of these!
mgsd zeta would be interesting. wouldnt even mind if u just need to remove the head but the rest of the body is fully transformable
I literally just got this Gundam while on holiday in Thailand, Bangkok. The Gundam Base. Was literally the last one in shop. Grabbed it straight away.
I _never_ thought I'd be excited to build an SD kit.
Can't wait for a pgsd nu gundam
Hold up bro 😅mgsd still new in SD lineup
i'm not really a fan of the details, but I really like the eyes
I hope they manage to do a similar thing one day with MG G-Self
Looking at MGSD Freedom Gundam here, we definitely need MGSD Unicorn next
Cant wait for the mgsd unicorn
The tiny detail and functionality of this kit is off-the-wall. Amazing! :D
The color accuracy and part seperation of this kit is amazing.
loofking forward to this lineup
its super awesome
The proportions to me are like if a person wore a mobile suit like a suit of armor. It's almost human like proportions
Has it been a while since you have seen a human ? XD
I think they used the 3D model proportions from SD Gundam Battle Alliance for this kit. Given that game was released half year before this kit.

Hello, what stand did you use?
Looks like a great kit, thank you for reviewing
That's the Action Base 5 Clear
Looks like SD in real grade form
I hope this line eventually includes Star Winning Gundam. That'd be really something.
