MYTRO's concept is supposed to be a mix between trot singers and k-pop idols. That is also true if we look at the members background, as Shohei, the guy you said it looked like a Monsta X member, was an SM trainee that was supposed to be part of NCT (although it didn't happen because of health reasons), and a few other members were part of trot groups or have participated in trot contests. They have released some songs together, although they will debut in February 2025 and they also have solos. I must add that all of them have great vocals (including Shohei, who is the rapper for MYTRO) and overall really good skills.

As far as I know, Mytro is supposed to be a temporary project group in collaboration with YamYam Entertainment and SM Entertainment. MYTRO stands for "My Trot Revolution Odyssey," so they are a Trot dance group. As you saw, they were formed through a reality show created by TV Chosun called “Falling for a Trot-dol: Lovestruck Noonas“, and "Bomb Bomb Bomb" is their pre-debut song. It's interesting that for the group's pre-debut content they started out by showing off Shohei's dance skills, because Trot isn't really known for the style of dance we see idol groups doing and Shohei is a Kpop trainee so his dance skills are very much in line with the Kpop genre. Mytro's genre is not kpop, but trot. trot is a genre of Korean popular music, known for its use of repetitive rhythm and vocal inflections. if u like Mytro songs, maybe you could check out more trots. i personally love trots and have some fave trot songs. even Daesung from BigBang had trot songs. and trot usually for the ahjummas & ahjussis but Mytro even caught attentions of the younger ones too,

Aren't they originally not idols? All I know is that Tey who has already debuted and has a solo song, while Shohei is a former smrookies. While the others are not idol trainees, they have never even dance previously. So I think your opinion about them being too old to debut as idols is not true, because not all members are idol trainees
or maybe SM wants to make a new breakthrough in preserving trot culture, they want trot music to be widely known internationally because K-pop has now spread globally. So they deliberately chose members who had already debuted, former trainees, and actors who had singing abilities
@@kani-kaninithey did not train to be idols, the only idol trainee in there is not from the same batch as Taemin, EXO and whatnot. They're a solo singer and some actors.
