Extremely beefy def and res, but hp is on the lower end for a tank.

Especially made worse by the balloon, which has a lot of HP but no Def, for a good reason: it directs most of the damage suffered by enemies in its field to itself.

Very low hp that makes them fall over quickly to elemental or true damage. Earlier half of the chapter has a true damage dealing mechanic which is what you’re expected to use most of the time.
