    This is very good if you take the price into consideration. I hope you will make a following video to show how to upgrade this PC and compare between before and after the upgrade.

      Hi there! I certainly will! I already have it in the works. Maybe take a couple new benches on this config and see how a better video card does then do more upgrades and compare. Thanks again :)

    The memory configuration on this setup is triple channel. I would be interested to see if the machine would run better with 12GB of 3 x 4GB dimms, as opposed to your current mismatched RAM setup. Or, is this a case where MORE RAM is MORE BETTER! I suspect you'd see better performance, but cutting back to 12GB is probably not ideal. If you could find someone who would trade you a single 8GB DIMM for your 3 4GB dimms...you could get 24GB in triple channel mode. Enjoy the game!

      Hi there, welcome to the channel! I think it might do better! Also, the cpu is limited to 1066mhz ddr3 ram speed. The 6 core xeon I mentioned it can take would be able to increase the ram speed, too. That's $14! Might be worth a test. Thanks for the tips, watching, and commenting. I appreciate it!

    I upgraded to a w3680 from a i7 920 and it was a generational leap a couple of years ago in performance that and since it was a 3rd party mb with 1600mhz 24gb and a gtx 1080.

      Hi there! Oh, nice upgrade! I was eying that same cpu or the xeon SLBV5 X5680. I read the V2 z400 like I have can take those 2 cpus.maybe add a better cideo card and see how the numbers come out compared to this time. Might be interesting to see. Awesome, you got the mobo that can support 1600mhz plus a 1080 in that nice!! Thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it

    Hard to ask much of that 3550! Your RX 580 is better than a GTX 1060 but not a 1070. Here are some numbers I still have of my 3770k running a 3080. Both CPUs being 4 core 8 thread:
    W3550 3.33 Ghz + RX 580 8GB vs 3770k 4.5 Ghz + 3080 10GB
    CPU -------------------------- W3550 ------------ 3770k
    Firestrike -------------------- 9492 -------------- 15595
    Graphics score ---------- 13058 ------------- 21161
    Graphics test 1 -------- 63.57 fps -------- 113.90 fps
    Graphics test 2 -------- 51.30 fps ---------- 77.18 fps
    Physics score ----------- 7615 --------------- 11276
    Physics test ------------- 24.18 fps --------- 35.85 fps
    Combined ------------------ 3545 --------------- 6540
    In your game, your RX580 was often pegged at 100%, but the W3550 was at 60-70%. With a better video card, someone could get a few more FPS out of this rig! The physics is pure CPU, though. If that Xeon could get overclocked, it would also help the cause. People would scream CPU bottlenecking with my 3770k and the 3080, but guess what? Some games brought the 3080 over 90%, but other games there was a definite CPU bottleneck with the CPU over 90% and the 3080 only around 30-40%. These experiments are always fun, and even more fun seeing how the numbers compare 🙂. That $20 PC looked pretty clean inside!

      Hey there Mr!! Ithink I will buy the 6 core 12 thread cpu upgrade for this workstation.. then it can run the ddr 3 at a faster speed. I can take out any lower speed sticks. Oc the 6 core then drop I'n my 4060!! Lol. Awesome stats thanks again. 3080 wish I could get one! I had to run the fan at near maxed on the 580 to keep it from overheating.. I stress the heck out of stuff lately aye!!

    • @itstheMR
      @itstheMR 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@RememberThisTech And you can see why the 580 was overheating. That poor lil fella was giving it all he could lol. Yeah, do it! Faster ram speeds are a hit and miss with games and benchmarks, but it would still be interesting to see if there is a difference. The real difference will occur with more cores and another GPU. I'd consider 4 sets of setups with Firestrike: This setup vs 4 core with the 4060 vs 6 core with the RX 580 vs the 6 core with the 4060. It will be interesting seeing the data for the 4 setups side by side. Don't forget benchies like PCMark 10 and Geekbench, too. Run them, go have dinner, come back, bam you got yourself data. 😉

      @itstheMR deff great ideas. Easy. Easy is my speed, and what I need right now kinda burnt out. Wanto make sure I'm having fun doing this so I've goto keep this in mind. It will show in the videos, too. Thanks again.

    • @itstheMR
      @itstheMR 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@RememberThisTech To me part of the fun is in looking at the data. Every time I upgrade something in the PC, I go straight to benchmarking. I look at the data to be like yep I figured or nope dang it lol. I understand the burn out. Sometimes I'll be dialing in my new rig for week or more making sure it's perfect. Then I do 3DMark, PCMark, Cinebench, Geekbench, and let them do their thing while I go chill. Then I start hitting 5+ games again and jotting the data down from them to compare to the previous config. I jot it all down like CPU %, GPU %, min, avg, max FPS, etc. I burn up a LOT of time with new setups just to have confirmation of the success or failure of the upgrade. Heck, I even type so much about it cuz it IS fun for me to talk about it lol. I got several spreadsheets with over 10 years worth of data that I do for myself from different builds. So if you start getting burned out, take a break, and let the big benchmarks do their thing. PCMark takes like 10-15 minutes lol.
