My node-red html node does not have a selector field. Are you using a different version of the html node? I've searched with the Manage Palette feature and don't see any newer version of the node. My html node did mention about the Select value being a CSS Selector. How/Where would I set the selector in this case?
Eddie the HTML node is a core node and so you will need to upgrade node-red. That video was done on v0.19 but I did use the html node and selector in another video on an earlier version of node-red..
Thanks! Your videos are an amazing resource. I want to have an HTTP client that connects to a public wifi hotspot that makes periodic requests and also sends motion sensor data to a web server at my home hundreds of miles away. Feasible with node red? I have permission to use the public wifi hotspot. Alternatively I could use MQTT to transfer the motion sensor data instead of HTTP requests. MQTT the better idea?
I prefer MQTT but if you already have an http system in place, which you have, then it would be easier to go the http route.I will be covering posting data in a follow up video probably the third one.

Is this the html node or the http node?
@@stevecope Hi Steve. It's the Html node. In your video, your html has selector field, mine does not.
