Although I could do without the ending, this movie is very nostalgic and wonderful to me. There seems to be a sub missing though, if that matters to you. For the first couple of words in the song that starts around 42:00, to be specific. There may or may not have been another brief area without subs, but if so then I don't remember where. In my opinion, based on the common knowledge that the 1981 Dr. Slump and Arale-chan anime was a huge inspiration for the Mario universe as admitted by Shigeru Miyamoto in interviews, Mario being transported to a fantasy land comes from Dr. Slump's "Fairy Tale Machine" concept, where the characters of Slump were transported into books like Alice in Wonderland and Arabian Nights. This becomes more apparent in Miyamoto's follow-up to Super Mario Bros, Doki Doki Panic, where the characters are literally transported into a fairy tale book.

I’m honestly quite surprised that Nintendo didn’t release an American English Translation of the anime. It definitely would have made more money than the 1993 Super Mario Bros. Movie if it had a few tweaks like Luigi’s Outfit being changed from Yellow & Blue to Green & Blue!

Watched this on vinesauce and didn't know it was a new restoration until the very end. I was honestly thinking throughout the whole thing that it looks a lot better than how I remembered it as a kid almost ten years ago, which is interesting bc I normally wouldn't remember details like that from when i was like 8. Just goes to show how impressive this version is!

In my opinion, based on the common knowledge that the 1981 Dr. Slump and Arale-chan anime was a huge inspiration for the Mario universe as admitted by Shigeru Miyamoto in interviews, Mario being transported to a fantasy land comes from Dr. Slump's "Fairy Tale Machine" concept, where the characters of Slump were transported into books like Alice in Wonderland and Arabian Nights. This becomes more apparent in Miyamoto's follow-up to Super Mario Bros, Doki Doki Panic, where the characters are literally transported into a fairy tale book.

I’m honestly quite surprised that Nintendo didn’t release an American English Translation of the anime. It definitely would have made more money than the 1993 Super Mario Bros. Movie if it had a few tweaks like Luigi’s Outfit being changed from Yellow & Blue to Green & Blue!

Watched this on vinesauce and didn't know it was a new restoration until the very end. I was honestly thinking throughout the whole thing that it looks a lot better than how I remembered it as a kid almost ten years ago, which is interesting bc I normally wouldn't remember details like that from when i was like 8. Just goes to show how impressive this version is!
