Hi Gareth, trying to change the screen, put the plastic split Image screen in but having difficulties with the spring wire that holds it in place, the two screws at the back adjust downwards to clamp the thinner screen, but the one at the front doesn't have the same amount of travel, kind regards John Moore
@@johnmoore901 Hi John, each of the 3 screws has a bracket extender which push down onto the spring wire. I found they met the top of the wire no problem. If you message me on Instagram @gknegatives I can share some close up photos. Perhaps yours is different (?)
Thanks. I've never tried the prism, but I guess it should be fine. The new glass sits lower than the original so there is clearance. As far as the viewfinder through the prism, I assume it's like looking through any viewfinder except now with a split focus screen.
@@gknegatives I've been considering the upgrade for quite a bit, plus I'm pretty sure my glass focusing screen is also quite dirty. Might be easier to just swap it than clean it
Nice video and shots at Greenwich. Love my P6 to death and may give this a try.
Excellent tip and excellent photos! Will consider this upgrade when I get the Pentacon Six I just ordered 🙂 👍
Has the Pentacon roughly a decade ago. Great camera. It was really fun using it.
Should have kept it!
very nice thanks

Finally a good video on the upgrade, thank you!! One question, will this work normally with a prism attached?

Exactly what inwas looking for.y screen arrived today.❤
Good luck! I found a big improvement in focus accuracy 👍
I did IT and its amazingly sharp and easy to install and use.@@gknegatives
Hi Gareth, did Pentacon ever produce an original split Image glass screen. Kindest regards, John Moore
Good question! I honestly don't know. Perhaps not as all I can find are these newer 3rd party replacements.
Hello Gareth, thank you for the video and great shots! I've just got the same screen and I noticed it's not flat. Is your screen curved too?
If you watch the video I talk about this (2.20 ish) - Shiny side UP, contour DOWN 👍
@@gknegatives I see, just mine is slightly curved, maybe it has a defect... I will contact the seller
Maybe stupid question but where can you find a strao for this camera ?
@@camillelannevere9880 ebay! Search Pentacon strap. I think there's a Chinese manufacturer.
I am looking for those to put in my old Kiev 60. Are those brighter? I already have a Fresnel in my TTL prism.
Brightness is not massively improved. More or less the same. I use it for the focus accuracy which IS greatly improved 🙌
Do you repaid cameras? In mine 1/125 is not working
No, repair is too hard for me! I used a guy in Germany who serviced the camera. Did an amazing job:

Screwdriver, naked fingers over the screen...oh god...
Yes, screwdrivers are used for taking screws out, what do you use??
