Good work. I don't know why I'm entranced by the GP-30. Even though WM didn't have any, the Chessie used them rather exclusively out of Elkins for the coal trains in the 80s. It was two sets of GP30/GP9/GP9/GP30. One set on each end. Several of the GP9s were the WM low nose. Great memories. Thank you.
+Drew Guild Thank you for sharing those memories! I've always liked the way the GP30 look above the cab. I have a B&O GP30 and a RDG GP30 on my layout.
Great video, I was riding that day and it was beautiful! Do you know what whistle she is wearing? I always loved the hancock 3 chime, but this one really fits 734.
+Al Cooper #734 can only handle about 5 or 6 cars on its own. That was one of the big selling points of #1309. It can handle the 10+ car trains without a diesel helper.
+Garrett Green yes, this conversation came up between shots at the station. They said 734 can carry up to 6 coaches without a diesel helper. The man said they have gotten 734 up to Frostbrug alone with 11 coaches, but you never know.
Just letting you guys know, I worked for this railroad and so did my husband. My brother is the engineer there still. Three years ago before the almight Michael Gresham took over, she handled 14 coaches WITH a dead diesel on the rear. She can handle a lot more than people give her credit for. That's all.
What a nice angle at the beginning for the viewpoint, and those shots around 4 minutes! I looooove that beautiful cinematography.
You have developed a very good eye for angles, I like it.
17:07 My favorite Chime
That SP 6 chime on 734 sounds very haunting like in the west!
I think a SP 6 Chime on 1309 would sound even better than the hooter whistle!

+Thomas Bush She was wearing a Southern Pacific 6 Chime. I think both the Hancock 3 and the SP 6 chime fit 734 well.
