That smiple "concave" of the Hypr paddle does not seem like a great idea at all, except possibly as a training tool. I appreciate your comments on it. (I am a QuickBlade fan; I get so happy paddling with it, it just seems perfect to me.) Come paddle out of Dana Point sometime. We have great scenic local paddling destinations and lovely ocean conditions almost all the time.
I’m also a QB fan. Jim’s paddles are also concave, and have been for a while- V-Drive, Ono Ava, and now Stingray. A difference between the Hypr paddle and Jim’s is the volume. Hypr is 120. Jim’s are 110, 111, 115. Stingrays are 72, 79, and will also come in one smaller size. I’ve also been to Dana a few times both this year and last year. Did the ocean challenge last year and did a few practice with the Dana women this year. I also have friends who live near there.

What size (square CM or inches) Viper are you paddling with?
I am actually not sure. It's a borrowed blade. It did not feel like more than 120 sq in though.
