who knows the answer? I installed OSMonterey 12.7.1 on my old non-supporting iMac 2008 24" 4 RAM via OPEN-CORE PATCHER. Everything works great, even better than on OS Catalina. I received a notification from APPLE that I can install a newer version of Monterey 12.7.6. Is it possible to update the system via APPLE from 12.7.1 to 12.7.6 or is it better not to risk it, since the system installed now is kind of illegal!?
Oh I didn’t see that it is an iMac. I thought it was a hackintosh. That said, I think that if you want to update further you will have to count on Opencore legacy patcher. If not you may risk the integrity of your system cause OCLP as it says patches the update to be able to installed on your system. I would not recommend to update through software update. I hope that this helped you.
My answer I tried update and result is positive Everything working good And one more thing Last OpenCore Patcher 2.1 have a bags Stay on the previous 2.02
