You can cut and drill the upper arms with 1.5mm drill bit then use M2 threaded rod to make them adjustable. However this will weaken the parts a lot which is fine on a drift car but for touring, I'm not so sure.

I only have spacer in the back and tool the front out. If the front is too soft then you can either file down the original spacer so the shock has less resistance but not too soft, or make your own custom spacer from plastic sheet.

They are equally important but it depends on what you want to do. If you want to drive around normally but want something reliable you can replace both diffs with standard Mini-Z gear differential then upgrade the CVD with "27mm" long CVD. If you want to drift then you can lock the standard diffs and keep using them then upgrade the front to one way if you want. As for full blown racing I highly recommend you upgrade both diffs to Mini-Z (or Mini-Z AWD compatible from Atomic or GL) ball differentials and upgrade the CVD with "27mm" long CVD.
The original gears lasted about 10 battery packs for me. After I modded it with other plastic gear and replace the diff with Mini-Q/Mini-Z diff, it's still holding up to this day. Not that I play it very much but with different plastic than the original it's much more durable.

😎👍 Try tamiya anti wear grease best stuff ever!
Thanks. I'm using Tamiya white grease on centre pinions and gear boxes. I think it's standard grease. Gotta find one of this anti ware quick.
check out my videos linked below for anti wear grease up one racing makes a nice one and tamiyas is even thicker it works great in open diffs and makes them more like oil filled diffs and you can tune the diffs by how much you coat the gears and internal pins or parts also. also works great in friction shocks...Best 2 anti wear greases I have used all others stink and are not good I found. th-cam.com/video/ubxK7hFv9a4/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/bLwvIQhQAQc/w-d-xo.html
Same effect, different brand. But it's still nice to know some other brands out there I can find if I move to other location. I use Kyosho because it's easy to find here where I live.
Is 1/28 parts is the same with 1/24 parts? It's hard to find 1/24 parts in internet.
No, as far as I know they are not the same. At least most of them aren't compatible. Which part are you looking for?
The differential for WL A242, mine was damaged, both front and rear so my car can't run right now. I also looking for the metal based differential so the durability is longer and stronger. Do you have link for the products? Or maybe the plastic one?
Here's the plastic diffs goo.gl/hdg8wd
As for metal upgrade I haven't seen any of it yet.
Thanks for the link, man. Can't wait to see your next video.
good video
Hey dude is there any wltoys body on eBay like the bmw body?(I know they don’t sell I anymore)
Right now, no. Even Mini-Z BMW bodies are nowhere to be found.
However, you can find a plastic model or another toy with 98mm wheelbase and make body mounts with magnet.
Beaver's Hobby thanks so much but I found a lancer body on eBay and banggood
Hey man....... I've just found that the remote control 1/24 Porsche GT3RS by 'Rastar' fits the 1/28 wltoys chassis an absolute treat👌they are a licenced Porsche product so the detail on them is fantastic 👀 especially for their size😊 also the price is very good too...... mine cost me £7.50 which I thought was very reasonable👍
@@tomwright943 Nice! I got the Lamborghini and it is a bit longer than 98mm. I guess I should have got the Porsche instead
Nice videos, I would like to buy W989 but it might be too fast for indoor driving for me. What options there are to slow down this car, change gearing, limit transmitter throtle movement mechanically, is there something I could tweak witx transmitter electronics? is throtle made with potentiometer & ADC or something totally different? can I change to less speedy motor?
Pour la graisse , je mettrais bien de l'huile d'olive !!! :-)
2m cst. got it.
Hello Beaver. Is this shaft a viable alternative banzaihobby.com/Kyosho-MDW204 ?
What about this one banzaihobby.com/Kyosho-MD205 ?
Yes, these are the same. The MDW204 are metal and MD205 are plastic. Get the MDW204 if you want. Or alternatively get the Atomic or RC Aurora because they are cheaper and better with longer screw thread.
Atomic www.miracle-mart.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=67_74_1029&products_id=13988
RC Aurora ppm-rcracing.com/products/Wide-Crooked-Angle-Universal-Shaft-for-Mini%252dZ-%286061-Blue-1Pair-Long%29.html
@@BeaversHobby thanks, I ordered the atomic :) another question, radiolink rc4gs or fkysky gt3c ?
@@Izlolz Radiolink RC4GS. If you want Flysky at least get the GT5. GT3C is very hard to use, not as precise, has lower resolution and has higher latency (slower to response) than RC4GS.
Can I mail you?
I have a facebook if you'd like to chat.
For the fat, I would use olive oil !!! :-)
Ummm... organic!
@@BeaversHobby ; it's bad ? :-/
@@filsdedieu100 I've accidentally spilled vegetable oil on my bicycle and it was squeaking ever since so just be careful with vegetable-based oil. If it works, it works.
@@BeaversHobby ; I don't know if it works. But I know that olive oil (Olea europaea var. Europaea) is also anti bacteria so it does not rot. But maybe it will harden too much over time . The easiest way is to put on a good grease as you advise :-)
@@filsdedieu100 Just a stuff that made for the application is always the best.
Luckily my diffs and gears are still holding out on my P929. Runs well even on 1/10th rc tracks :)
Very lucky! Mine didn't last that long though. P929 also handles very well outdoor.
What I found was the diff cups and gear loosened even with a tight screw. Had to superglue the gear to the diff outdrives to prevent slipping.
@@rccartips Basically you've locked it. Solid axle/spool works too so that should be fine.
No I did not lock the diff. I glued the diff gear to the diff drive cup as it was slipping there.
@@rccartips Ah, now I get it! Great job fixing that to have a working diff.
Cut the music out.
I feel like i do not have this level of knowledge and understanding of how rc’s work, for that reason I might just buy a mini z full price
