That's why the snares are usually still on beat 3. It's how you can create such a complex sounding rhythm, while it being groovy enough to bang your head to it. Unlike other bands that split time signatures where it's harder to bang your head because the down beat is always changing. Ie. Protest the Hero

well it's the best place to hear the instrumental of this song. no offense to any vocalists anywhere because I am one myself, but us metal heads need instrumental versions of this music. the music is just that damn good even on its own, the instrumentation is exquisite, the grooves are fucking banging man.
