Your channel is super underrated. There's not many deck tech channels that I like but this is certainly one of them. The deck itself is fire, but also your style of narration is fun and the production is surprisingly great for such a small channel. Nice one mate
Another good pile card that can also pillow-fort is Fight or Flight. Triggers on EACH opponent combat, and remember that piles can have zero cards, so it works even if they don't have creatures. Speaking of silver border, you also have My First Tome. Make sure you throw in the baldur's gate lands for lands with flavor text. It doesn't trigger toymaker, but I like Dream Devourer to make the opponent guess what you just foretold, and it let's you get some of the more expensive cards out early and out of your hand. Finally, if you go the clone route, Reconnaissance can get the attack trigger, then save your commanders
@@commander_in_general I built my own Toymaker deck when he was announced. As I went the clone token route, I also made some custom tokens with different images of the toymaker from the original and new episode.
The Toymaker's M.O. is turning anyone who loses a game to him into toys. Leaning into that, you could substitute single target removal for transfiguration cards.
I'm not huge into dr.who so I didn't know that, but that's a neat idea, I did a similar thing in legend of Zelda deck because people are always getting turned into stuff in loz lol
I recommend Leyline of Anticipation. It lets you act during your opponents turns, rather than your own, which allows cards like Do or Die to even more effective as a defensive combat trick!.
@commanderingeneral5162 no problem it's a deck I'm working on right now but I really enjoy your build.. I would love to see a gameplay of it to see how it plays
@@HectorPalafox109 If this channel ended up being something that was sustainable for me to put more time into. I would LOVE to make some gameplay vids with friends. But that's probably far down the road
8:44 wouldn't this cause our commanders endstep trigger to double as well, which is the entire reason we run all these choices? and if we do get in an attack with our commander at that point they get to group twice for a quick 8 damage
With Strionic resonator yes. It's confusing at that part of the video, but when I say it doesn't effect the commander, I was actually leading into the next part where I was talking about conjurers closet and teleportation circle which don't really help the commander. But after listening back to it, you are right to be confused haha😅
Thoughts on cards to make the commander unblockable or stopping combat? With the pillowfort theme, Maze of Ith is a doubley useful card as it can stop attacking creatures, but can also stop your commander after he attacks so you get the trigger off of him, but stop the risk of him dying to combat damage or tricks. In the same sort of vein, Rogues Passage allows you to get the triggers and some combat damage, and you don't have to worry about him dying.
Ya I agree, even if its just a few cards, having a few cards to make creatures unlockable is always nice. Usually I throw in rogues passage and a whispersilk cloak for protection into a lot of decks. This deck had a lot going on though, and not a ton of cards cared about attacking so I didn't really prioritize it. But I could see a version that incorporated this a little more 👍

Man... such a nice comment, made my day. Thank you

Wooow tons of great stuff I missed, thanks a bunch. I especially like the silver border edition 👌

I build him as a clone deck, so there isn't just the two life loss at one end step, but more like 10 or twelve
that would be super cool

Oooo I like that tech
Siphon insight wouldnt work because it doesnt make piles but hostile negotiations does work because it puts them in to 2 different piles
Thank you very much, that seems blatantly obvious now. IDK how I messed those ones up haha 😅. Thanks for the correction 👍

Good editing, good video topic, but what i *really* wanna know is how'd you generate all those AI MTG pics? My favorite was the "Card Shark."
The secrets in the frosting... But I'll never tell...
... I just use copilot... but don't tell anyone I associate with bing. shhhhhhhhhh

Is the toy maker out yet? I thought it was just pre order
I don't play proxies! YOU PLAY PROXIES!
@@commander_in_general whew, had me scared for a bit I had messed up my order somehow lol
Hostile Negotiations does trigger the Toymaker because it makes a pile with each of the the exiled cards, no?
Ya, another commenter pointed that out. Don't know how I missed that one. Thanks for the comment 👍

I'm aware, but if your play group is cool they let you play un-cards
