Luckily, Bellroy makes an awesome minimalist wallet designed to carry 15+ cards, cash, and coins - it's the Bellroy Card Pocket! In this video, we review the wallet and share why it's one of our favorites!

    I have been using this wallet for 6 years and love it. It’s been rained on, run over, left out for days (lost) in backyard. A little leather conditioner and it’s new again. Zipper is great.

      @@TripAstute this wallet is too awesome; definitely more slim/streamlined than my other gusseted card cases, mainly tumi, and one lancaster; I had to check my front pant pocket to see if my wallet is actually there; that's how small the form factor is... before this wallet my most recent purchase was a bottega veneta card case; cut a long story short the Bottega Veneta North American client service associate suggested to me that I should carry their wallet in a bag instead of pant pocket because how the leather could be easily scraped, damaged.

    I got mine for Christmas. I absolutely love it. I was using a vaultskin. The smaller design is what caught my eye. Had the vaultskin for a year before the zipper pull broke just in time then got the bellroy card pocket as a gift for Christmas.

    I have tried a number of minimalist wallets and none of them did everything I want. If you pay with a note you’re going to get coins as change, especially in the UK. Manufacturers seem to ignore that little fact. I got the card pocket about a month ago and I can’t see me using anything else now. I don’t have a huge amount of notes or coins but what I do have is safe and easy to access. I’ve got around a dozen cards and like you it goes in the front pocket of my jeans and I don’t know it’s there. I’d definitely recommend it

    Thank you for another great video.! I've got to get me one of those.! The size and quality is exactly what I'm looking for in a card holder..by the way whenever you do videos where you give us a glimpse of the cards that you have I always try to figure out which ones that they are because your choice of cards seem to be the best.! At least for your needs.! Lol.! If you haven't already can you do a video on which cards that you currently carry and why you choose them.? I'm always interested to know.! I like both. It's hard to say which is a better wallet since they are so similar. I do like the extra features of the Nodus. I was thinking of transitioning over to it as soon as Bellroy Card Pocket is worn out, but it still seems to be wearing well (even after four years).

      Sure! I can definitely add it to the pipeline. It's the Leatherman Style PS -- basically a keychain-sized Leatherman tool that doesn't contain a knife, so it's supposedly safe for air travel. I say "supposedly" since I've heard a lot of people still getting them confiscated at the airport. 😄

    I have an all condition bellroy in orange and inside of it I carry a smaller Tory Burch wallet . Why do I have a Bellroy in orange ? It’s Texas color and it’s also bulky and shiny where I can spot it in my Will leather messenger bag... I lose stuff easily but I also have a Tile tracker .... Bellroy has good quality . Otherwise my boyfriend and I wouldn’t have gotten it .

    If you put a card with RFID capabilities all the way in the back, will it be able to be read if you were to tap the back of the wallet on the terminal? For example if you use the card for the metro, bus, or key card?

    I have the RFID burnt orange travel wallet. Used it now for about 3 or 4 trips. While it’s nice quality, and I like the concept, it hasn’t been very practical. You have to almost completely unfold the wallet to take out your passport and it’s a big wallet. It attacts a lot of attention (which you don’t want while traveling). Open it measures almost 12in (300mm). Also it get’s very bulky when carrying multiple currencies. You can sometimes organize currency end to end like the Euro but it becomes difficult with US dollars since the dollar is almost 3mm longer than the wallet while folded.

    • @TripAstute

    • @TripAstute

    • @TripAstute
      @TripAstute  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I honestly like both wallets. The Bellroy is more compact, which I like. The WaterField is overall a better quality wallet. The leather and zippers are much better. The leather is thicker, and the wallet accommodates bi-folded cash, which can also be a deciding factor.
      If I was looking to purchase a new wallet, I would probably lean toward the WaterField Finn Access Wallet. Though I have two Bellroy Card Pocket wallets, so I'll probably use them as long as they last (which has been already 3+ years). 😊

    • @TripAstute
      @TripAstute  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you mean the Humn wallet? I found it to be a bit too rigid and hard, which meant that it tended to wear out my pockets and show through the fabric in my front pocket. I've also used a Mitchell Money Clip Wallet. I really like the wallet, but it's a better cash wallet, and since I carry a lot of credit cards, I found that the leather pockets would stretch.
      I still think that the Card Pocket is my favorite wallet in Bellroy's collection (in terms of value). I also like the All-Conditions Wallet, but I prefer the Card Pocket since it seems a bit smaller and more classy (i.e., less sporty).
      Hope that's helpful! Let me know if you have any other questions. 😊

    A ‘card holder’ wallet is bound to mess up the cards you put inside, simple because there’s no holder to secure it in place. As the wallet shakes in your pocket or even when you’re taking it out, cards graze against one another and leave scratch marks. Personally, I don’t think it’s a big issue because my cards work fine even after 3 years, however, they do look beaten and abused. It’s worse if you store coins inside as well. Not recommended for fussy people or people with general OCD

    • @TripAstute
      @TripAstute  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @kennethlow6619
      @kennethlow6619 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WilmarToro When you remove the cards from the wallet, they will rub against other cards and whatever you have in the wallet. Very small particles like sand and dirt are always in the wallet (more so for wallet which are zip sealed) so after awhile you can expect some scratches on the cards. Compared to normal wallet, each card is separated from one another and there is space between them so no issues. Hope this helps

    My old all condition card pocket died after 3 years right after the warranty lol

      Wow, I'm surprised! My Card Pocket is still going strong. I think I've had it now for 5 years. The zipper tab is the only place showing a lot of wear.

      @@TripAstute basically the zipper broke . I am still liking it. It is their best wallet. I am using their original now but it’s still too bulky and does not age well.

    $60 is kinda expensive though :)

    • @TripAstute
      @TripAstute  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah, but for something that I use every day, I honestly don't think it's a bad price. Full-grain leather is definitely a step up from top grain and genuine leather too.
      I think my wallet and sunglasses are my two most used personal items, so I feel like they are both worth the cost. 😎

      I can definitely see its usage for you. Personally, I don't carry all my cards with me because I don't need to use all of them at the same time, prob 3 to 4 cards. If I need book a ticket/trip, I will mostly likely do at my desk.

      Yeah, I have some friends that swear by neck wallets. There are a lot of them out there. I've had good luck with Zero Grid products, so might be worth checking out their neck wallet too 😊: amzn.to/2CqzSsE

    • @TripAstute
      @TripAstute  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, it might seem pricey, but it's definitely good quality! Full-grain leather is not cheap, but it's extremely durable and ages well with time.
      A wallet is something that I use every day, so I don't mind paying a little extra for the quality. Though that's just me. I don't drive an expensive car, but I used to spend a lot of time stuck in traffic, so go figure! 😄
