I question how much you guys have watched Canada. If you’re talking their strongest midfielders, it’s Eustaquio and Kone from Porto and Marseille. And if you bring wide players into it, Tajon from Inter Milan should be back in form by March. Other than Edson Alvarez, they’re stronger in midfield than the rest of the Mexican players. Also, the biggest reason Canada has been so good lately is Moise Bombito from Nice, it’s crazy not to mention him.

Yup, to mention only David, Davies, Shaffleburg, and Eustaquio (all great of course), is showing a lack a knowledge of the team.
Johnston, Bombito, Kone, Larin.. the list of players now at competitive teams in good leagues in Europe is growing. Most are doing quite well.

💯 to Bombito and if Tajon is healthy then he'll be the best midfielder on the field against Mexico. But we'll have to see how he progresses. And while Kone is a great player and on the rise, he's not yet as good as Edson Alvarez. Canada is a better team and should win but the one area where Mexico can pose problems is in the midfield.

I love a podcast titled, Canada vs Mexico,...that begins with "We can't really assess Canada". Isn't that the point of this context? LOL

I think it's difficult to assess Canada based on a result against Suriname. Just not the same caliber of opponent as Honduras. So there's no denying how good Canada has been but it's hard to evaluate them specifically based on the past 2 games.

The guy in the middle doesn't have a clue about Canada.
Forget about Mecico, Canada has 5 players better than the U.S. in Davies, David, Eustaquio (Midfield), Bombito (best Centre back in Concacaf) & both of Canada's goalkeepers, Dayne St. Claire & Max Crepeau.
The only sure advantage that the U.S. has over Canada is with Pulisic & Canada's 2 right wingers, Buchanan & Ahmed are very good.
Canada's 2 other midfielders, Choiniere & Kone are both very good.
Our right back Alistair Johnston is one of the best players on Celtic.
Our other Centre back, Derek Cornelius is great combined along with Bombito & they are both playing well in Europe.
Guys, Canada has easily been the best team in CONCACAF in 2024. 8 would argue, that having won the 2021/2022 Qualifiers, that other than losing to the U.S. in the 2023 Nations League, Canada has been the better team since then.
(the Gold cup that Mexico won in 2023 is not an indicator, because none of CONCACAF's best players participate in it)
Guys, please do your homework before doing these videos.

Perhaps Canada is in better form but only for the moment. Don't forget that they were tied with Mexico at the end of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. Even Honduras has placed 3rd at a Copa America before. It's not our fault the North Americans refuse to take the Gold Cup seriously. Maybe if you'd have, then you would have some silverware to show for once All this talk of Canada being better will mean absolutely nothing if they can't get their hands on a trophy for once. Also they tied Mexico very recently and a depleted one at that. If Mexico (Big If) wins then it certainly won't be a fluke. I dunno why that guy said that, it almost sounds like an excuse that's being prepared just in case.
I understand that Canada is no joke right now, but people are already claiming victory against Mexico, so I guess most people think it's going to be a walk in the park for Canada ay? It's ok to be confident and honest. I'm just looking forward to the game itself. Both teams will have something to prove and this has the potential to be the best game of tournaments next to the final.

It says something that Mexico's top young prospect, Santiago Lopez 19, chose to represent Canada internationally which he was able to do because he lived there for a few years growing up.
Lopez lives in Mexico, plays for Liga MX, and chose to represent Canada. Losing Lopez was a massive blow to the Mexican development side.

We'll be okay, it's always better to have players that actually want to go play for their national team on either side. Alex Acala is the better prospect actually. He's on the Manchester City youth team and has been signed on to play there for at least half a decade now.

Canada are unequivocally more talented but it will be a grind of a game. Im sure Mexico will make it ugly, I could see this game going to extra time even kicks.

    Canada has the better team...
They now have arguebly the best offence and defense in thw region.
2 of Canada's defenders, Davies and Johnston were just nominated for FIFAs best 11.
Bombito and Cornelius are both killing it in France. Both starters for their clubs. Eustaquio is back to getting regular minutes with Porto, sone for Tajon with Inter. David is continuing to kill it in Ligue 1 and UCL. Kone is ramping up with Marseille.
Sorry but Canada should be and are fsvorites going into this.

They obviously are but Mexico is already being counted out though. So according to many Mexico is the underdog going to this. And if (big if) they pull the "upset" then this will certainly be no fluke, just to get this out of the way already.

Yes, Mexico will have the fan support in LA. However, unlike Azteca, there is no altitude, and less heat. So, the environmental factors are not there. Canada beats Mexico 3-1.
