  • Luke Kennard, 6'5 shooting guard committed to play college basketball at Duke this past March. Here are some summer highlights from AAU season (NY2LA Sports Summer Jam) with King James Shooting Stars and the Nike Global Challenge.
    One of the best long-range shooters in the Class of 2015, Kennard AVERAGED 40 points, 10.4 rebounds, four assists and two steals and was named Ohio's Mr Basketball his junior season.
    Best known for his jump shot, left-handed Kennard can be seen adding a slashing game to his arsenal. Kennard can push the ball and create offense for others as well as creating for himself. These elements all add up to Luke Kennard (Franklin, Ohio) being widely considered one of the top 20 players in his class.

      ***** he means that when you are great at something people look up to you. staying humble will set a good example for anyone who might be looking up to you or idolizing you. Even if that may not come in high school. so he does have a very valid point.

    I'm not trying to be that guy but if he does make it to the nba the best he will do is become a straight shooter like dunleavy and corner. Not trying to be racist but it's extremely hard for whites to become superstars or big names in the league if you're under 6-10 and taller than 6'4. Either gotta be a pg,pf or center in order to be a superstar in the league as a white male. Black athletes are just way to dominant in basketball at the pro level due to their gene pool. Think of a white superstar in this era that's between 6'4-6'9. Solid role player at best:( sorry but thats just how it is. No disrespect just facts

      @shoot210 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      That was all facts man. Think of a white superstar or allstar in the nba in this new era of basketball that is under 6'10...the only way is if they make it as a powerforward or center and that's still rare, unless you're Kevin Love.

      Rare exception because he happens to be blessed with the speed and agility of these black players. Notice how he's the only exception to the rule you feel me? As the league becomes more fast paced over the years the # of whites will diminish. Look how many white players were there in the 60,70's and watch how the # has declined over the decades. The same thing is happening in football also if you aren't a qb,kicker,punter,lineman then the chances are slim you will make it into the nfl as a skill position athlete wr,db especially at the cornerback position. Can you remember the last white corner in the nfl? I hate to make it a race thing but this is what i've noticed over the years

      +Cjs 2580 Maybe because he's not playing against college talent. He won't average 40 in college. Who knows if he will be a good player though. I think he could make the NBA, but I don't think he'll be a star just from the looks of it, because I've seen videos of Kobe, D Wade, LeBron, D Rose, guys like that in college, and they just seem to have a more aggressive flare, but maybe this guy could be like a sharpshooting, left handed guard that could drive too.

    • @mattmoot
      @mattmoot 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      @SkittishPupGames 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Most white boys are not athletic

    • @DeSeanBigBlueNation
      @DeSeanBigBlueNation 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He's a decent athlete at best. Athleticism isn't everything, but if you want to be an all star or superstar in the NBA, you almost have to be a good athlete. The power forward and the center position don't require good athleticism to be great, but he's a shooting guard. I think he can make it, but I don't see him being a star.

    • @tolmons8820
      @tolmons8820 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      DeSeanBBN Manu Ginobli? He's a 2 guard who isn't really all that athletic, and I see that same player in this kid. He's not the greatest athlete, but he doesn't need to be, if he keeps improving that is.

    • @williamradler8712
      @williamradler8712 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      DeSeanBBN Anybody that can dunk with both hands over decent competition is more than just an average athlete. He won't blow by anybody or out rebound Kevin Love but he's got decent speed and quickness with above average leaping ability. He shoots well and he has good ball handling skills. I won't say he'll be a superstar because none of us can predict that but he reminds me a lot of Nik Stauskas and Gordan Hayward. They are both emerging stars in the NBA. So saying that he isn't athletic and won't be great, that isn't true. Larry Bird was a below average athlete and he is one of the greats.

    • @DeSeanBigBlueNation
      @DeSeanBigBlueNation 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      William Radler so anyone that can dunk with both hands is a better than average athlete? I disagree. I've seen Kyle Witljer dunk with both hands, he is definitely not an average athlete. For the HS level, Kennard is an above average athlete. In college and in the NBA, he will see many players that will make him look like an average athlete at best. I'm not saying he won't make it to the NBA. However, he is no Larry Bird. I know you're not saying that he's the next coming of Bird, but the problem is Kennard and Bird play 2 different positions. Forwards can get by and be elite without athleticism. Elite SGs have to be good athletes. You're right, Bird wasn't a great athlete, but he was a smart, tough player with an all around game. He was also 6'9. Kennard is a 6'5 SG. If anything, he'll be another JJ Redick. Redick is solid, but he isn't HOF bound.

    I'm not convinced he is a sharpshooter but ok. If I was that big in high school I could have probably had some sick stats too

      There are guys bigger than that who don't tear it up, I know someone who's 6'5 and doesn't kill it, that's a pretty arrogant statement.

    • @parodoxalirony6072
      @parodoxalirony6072 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Think about it though. There are 10s of 1000s of high schools nationwide. Unless you are playing at those prep academies and top schools, your average competition will be maybe 6'2". Every once in a while you might come across someone is 6'6" or greater. Being coordinated and that tall in high school at most schools would equal you totally dominating everyone. It's like comparing it to high school football players that can run at least a 4.5 40-yard dash. Every once in a while you will find someone that can match their speed, but for the most part they are going to outrun everyone on the field. Same thing with having some form of basketball skill and being that big in high school.
